I really liked your video. After looking at six other videos about organizing and learning nothing, I was frustrated. Then I found yours. You give great tips. You make so much sense, I took notes. I will use your tips to organize my art space. Thanks.
Keeping like items together ie: Art paper, acrylic paint, watercolor paints etc. like you sorted yours, does help a lot. With me if I don't see it, I forget I have it. I even sorted "areas" like "all things acrylic" here, all things "watercolor"......that has help me in the house too. All soups together etc. in pantry. All house paints, rollers, brushes, all glues together, all caulking, all rubber bands, all jewelry supplies.........it works:)
...and another tip...I use a knife magnetic bar to hold my palette knives. I attached it to a wood cart but it can be put anywhere handy, works great:)
I am ALWAYS “under the gun” to get something done in a hurry, if anything at all. I’m living with my professional daughter, and we have moved 3 times in the last 2 years, and been through hurricanes Ian, Helene, and Milton. Untold hours eaten by these events. Mess and work and stress. I have lots of supplies that are old because I never to do any painting, always yard work, cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning, dishes, caring for dogs, babysitting, on and on. My retirement is ticking away. 😢I can’t do a whole room redo, maybe will start with watercolor supplies. I think a lot of people are in my situation of feeling unsettled.
Any space I have, art studio or not, I have to declutter every now and then, as the clutter always builds up again 😊 but it is satisfying once its tidied up again. All the best, John
Howdey there Jennifer, I am so happy I finally found your channel! My name is Jackie and I love to paint also, I started with oils then acrylics and now watercolor, I love art always have! I live in Ca. too more south . So I subscribed I will be here watching and learning so thank you, and happy Thanksgiving! 😊
Yes, completely! Minimalist I never will be, I appreciate them, everyone has a special meaning. If you keep getting rid of these things, you might just find you may be "missing" yourself.
LOLOL - your 'before' would be very tidy for me. The hardest thing i had to come to terms with was that i was never going to sell or donate things. As wasteful as it felt, i threw them away

Exactly. I don't think there will ever be a "perfect" solution.

Wonderful. I am about to put my separate studio together. It was an old barn. Now I need to organize. Great ideas.
Love your channel, especially beginning with the Einstein quote.
Your list of questions at the beginning was reading me like a book 🥺 I answered yes to all. I really need this series.
I'm so glad it was helpful! So many of us struggle with this. You can do it!
I feel seen and in denial!🤣🤣
Oh my goodness, ME TOOOOO!! 😂😂
Yes to every question except buying art supplies one 😄
I’m in the middle of a tidying up project - will take me a year or 2…..

Off topic but I love the bag on your desk. It looks like it fits so much! Where is it from?

Where did you sell your art supplies at?
Hi there...i am an artist in Ohio. I make art on my live streams. 🎨
Well, I've answered 'yes' to every but one of test questions... 😐
You're definitely not alone.
