And yeah VR on this particular race was ESPECIALLY fun lol As for the cockpit it is a next level racing GT-lite pro. They also have a cheaper not pro version of it. I had to go with this one because I’m really low on space and it also folds up but it works really quite well. It squeaks REALLY bad though lol I’m running a ton of audio processing to try and get rid of it on the mic but you can still hear it a bit. It’s not rock solid stability wise but it’s 100% good enough for me to comfortably run until I can get some more space for a full rig lol
Talladega is a hell of a track to play with for someone with limited oval experience such as yourself. The largest oval in America and, I believe, the largest oval used in professional competition. At 2.66 miles (4.23 km) long and 33 degrees of banking, it is also the steepest track on the nascar schedule. Not the steepest known active track however, that goes to the half mile Winchester Speedway in Indiana with 36 degrees but i don’t think that’s in iRacing. And to answer why they’re called “Stock Cars”, that’s because the league quite literally had modified and strictly stock divisions when it started out and the stock cars are the ones that were pushed to be the headliners and made it to the big stage, but with that came many not-so-stock things being introduced to cap costs, increase speed, and increase safety. Obviously the cost thing didn’t work out so much but the other two did and now the top series of “Stock Cars” aren’t exactly stock but the name stuck around anyway. True stock car racing does still exist though in more local areas with Pure Stock, Crown Vic, & mini stock type classes.
Also, a Tri-Oval is a type of oval track defined by what the curve on the front stretch is which is also named the “Tri-Oval”. It’s a type of un-numbered oval turn called a dogleg that is characterized by being much more defined than most doglegs and giving the track its on that distinct tri(angle) oval shape. Talledega and Daytona have extremely pronounced tr-oval doglegs but on smaller tracks, such as Las Vegas, the dogleg is noticeably rounder. This is not to be confused with actual triangular ovals such as Pocono, Trióvalo Internacional de Cajititlán, or Lausitzring which all have 3 turns as opposed to the other’s 4 + dogleg/tri-oval.

Thank you so much! I did technically have a channel in my early teens for a few years where I would post guitar and piano covers but they were pretty rough quality wise lol I basically just recorded with my phone and posted with no editing or sound mixing in sight lol it was a lot of fun though
