It is illegal to kill a trapped wolf, however, it is not illegal to set a trap that catches a wolf. Trappers often catch protected animals or animals that they can't take because they've hit their bag limit. Reporting the catch of a protected animal often isn't necessary, so trappers usually take care of the release themselves instead of wasting the time of a conservation officer. These guys are likely just law-abiding trappers, taking animals for fur (or likely skulls in this case; that "loop" is called a "death ray" and is used to avoid putting a bullet through the valuable portions of the animals' head) and not some altruistic poacher chasers. That's also probably why they sounded so impatient at the end; catching a wolf means you missed a harvest and they want to reset their trap as quickly as possible
@@LHSMeleeClub I don't live in Minnesota, but I looked up the trapping laws really quick and it looks like the only animals I'd be setting that kind of trap for (a foothold trap) would be a Bobcat or a Fox. Wolves have a lot of stamina, probably the most among all of the animals, and of course one of the smartest ones too, a lot smarter than the domesticated dogs. It feels like the wolf had already accepted he was gonna die, but then as he was released of his pain, the shock of kindness really left him flabbergasted 😖😆
True.
Yes 🐺

@Kyle Chassie how did its brain lose oxygen by getting its foot caught in a snare? Lol
Pretty sure it had a wounded foot and was probably dazed after having the cord around it's neck.
The wolf was recovering from the pain and appreciating the human for helping it.
the canine was in shock. !!!
He wants to look at you. He's never seen something that counteracts pain so well.
Lol
That's how probably wolf became man's friend 1000s of years ago

So timberwolves actually exist, I thought they were just the mascot for the NBA team.
This is also a small one, as I believe they can get much larger.
Nope, just an animal. Timberwolves aren’t actually a real team.

People saying the wolf is now his best friend. I'll bet 100 bucks that wolf would bite his balls off if he started to pet it.
Without question
Most of those comments come across as joking. I'd hope nobody would actually try to pet a wolf
I'll bet 100 bucks you've never been to space
That wolf definitely respected the man otherwise if he was scared he would of ran immediately. But yea obviously if the guy tried petting a wild animal that is only used to other animals touching them just to attack them then he’s gonna attack him
It's not tame, obviously.
That wolf was thinking at the end! Are humans really this nice?
WOLF:- My whole life was a lie!😂
Wolf: "WTH is he trying to do?"
turned from a wolf fighting for its life to a dog playing tug-a-war
Nah it's still a wolf

Yep. I got to interact with about 10 adult wolves & 7 cubs at a wolf rescue yrs ago. Most of these were McKenzie Valley wolves so they were VERY LARGE. I always tell people that up close, they're like a Great Dane's body with very large paws, a heavy double coat, a massive Siberian Husky head with an over grown muzzle. When you see one up close you understand why they have such great jaw pressure.

What a beautiful puppy!
I love how it seems calm or confused after the release.
Probably exhausted and in a lot of pain. Some animals don't understand that they are trapped and can't get free. They will keep pulling and yanking to get free regardless how much it hurts. No telling when the last time it ate or drank something.
I love that too, reminds me of my girlfriend when she doesn't watch her drink at the bar.
maybe the choke, when you get chokes take a while to recover conciunesa completly
Not confused at all, in fact, he playfully holding to the rope.
Wolves have a lot of stamina, probably the most among all of the animals, and of course one of the smartest ones too, a lot smarter than the domesticated dogs. At first he didn’t know the man’s intentions, then very quickly he realized the man is there to help him. He purposely didn’t make a move while he the man was trying to release him. Right there he knew the man is there not to harm but to help him only. And after the release, that wolf acts like not confused at all but calm and collected finally finding a human who he can trust and maybe mingle or play with a bit. 😆
