    The STR/KE MVMNT Haze Trainer has been one of my personal favorite training shoes over the last few years.
    I've now bought and destroyed a few different colorways and I wanted to put together an updated Haze Trainer review to cover what I've learned after owning multiple models. There's a lot of good that comes with this shoe, but also some things that may not resonate with everyone.
    In my Haze Trainer updated review, I'll cover some in-depth pros and cons that I've experienced with this training shoe.
    0:00 PROS
    2:10 CONS
    4:56 Performance Assessment
    7:11 Sizing and Fit
    7:58 Final Verdict
    At the end of the day, do I think the Haze Trainer will be for everyone? Nope, but I do think if this shoe resonates with you then they'll slap.
    It's one of those training shoes where when they work...they REALLY work. I've loved mine for lifting, CrossFit, and traveling as being a solo shoe I'll bring on trips.
    I have had some durability issues with a few pairs, but I take that with a grain of salt because not every pair has had the same issues so maybe there's some variability between colorways as with most brands - I've learned.

    Thanks for the update. I am having the hardest time finding a replacement for my Reebok Nano 5.0s. I didn't realize I've had them for so long and how much I like them. I've tried quite a few shoes over the past few weeks: Nano X4, UA Reign 6, Xero Prio Neo, New Balance Minimus TR, TYR CXT-1 Trainer, and the Haze Trainer. I think I am leaning toward the Haze Trainer. What do you think is the closest to the Nano 5.0? Mainly for lifting, weight training and aerobic exercises.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  4 місяці тому +1

      Of those models, probably the Haze Trainer honestly. It's the most stripped down of the bunch!
      I don't think you can wrong with them if they fit your feet well!

    Great review as always. I’m having a hard time finding a shoe that does it all and doesn’t hurt my wide mid foot. Nano x seem to cause too much pressure due to the plastic on sides. Considering these and the RAD Ones next. I need versatility but learned that shoes like the Nano and Dropset with the added stability plastic won’t work for me. Any input on which is wider between these and RAD Ones? Tx

    Haze trainers are amazing shoes for Crossfit. Used mine solidly for just over a year now and they are still in great condition. Only thing I avoid in them is rope climbs as I feel the upper wouldn't hold up well.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  4 місяці тому

      Agreed! It's not so much the upper but the midsole that burns up on rope climbs. I learned this the hard way with my first pair, LOL.

    I can decide between the GoRuck rough runners or these haze trainers! I like the barefoot feel but also like the dynamic of the rough runners.
    Getting a new pair for fire academy, we do alot of running and HIIT training/crossfit outside the station on concrete

    I bought these a year ago after watching your review. They've been great, but are starting to tear on this inside heel cushion. Seems like reasonable wear and tear given what I've put them through, so I'm planning to get another pair. I just wish they were zero drop.

    Thanks for all the great info! I have a question regarding the toe box. After recently being diagnosed with plantar fasciitis I'm rebuilding my entire shoe collection with wide/anatomical toe box shoes, and I'm looking for a good wide toe box crossfit shoe to replace my NoBull Trainer+. Do you think these would be a good option, or do you have any other suggestions for wide toe box crossfit shoes?

      @@thatfitfriend I've become closer to an 11 than a 10 1/2 with a slightly wider forefoot that sizes me out of longer 10 1/2's. And I tend to just shy away from models that are known to be narrow. I tried the regular width ones in 11 and they were just hugging the met heads. Not sure how much wider the wide version is, but figured it had to be about a centimeter or so. My beef with them is it's a single colorway. It's never on sale. And spent enough time in retail I never pay retail. And a half a centimeter wider would make the normal width better and not be sloppy for normal feet. Full price plus on the hook for shipping both ways just kills it for me to even try.
      I've found the the Puma PWR Nitro Squared to be pretty wide, and I was able to downsize to a 10 1/2 and still have enough width. And the white and red are $80 with free returns. The Nano X3 and goruck ballistic trainers seem to do well in the forefoot in 11's for me. Also picked up the Lane Eight AD1 pretty cheap. They have some give in the forefoot with their knit and seem to conform over time rather than contain. Those four are in my rotation now. Can find the LE AD1 new and cheap on the bay, mercari or poshmark for an easy try. Haven't gone through more of your reviews yet to see if you tried those 4. Wear testers and run repeat have been my main source of reviews for a few.

      Ah, 10.5 would be a safe call, imo, if the GORUCK are pretty TTS without excessive room. If you're swimming in em, go 10.
      I worry their lower profile upper will feel pretty snug and different for you even if their length is okay, so sizing up a half-size is prob best.

    Hey Jake! Found you on TikTok and now to your YT channel. Love your content and honesty. Can you help me out? I am searching for new workout shoes, I haven't bought any since the metcon 2's. It's been so long that I really don't know how to size, my metcons are 12's. I am torn between the haze trainers and born primitive savage 1's. I actually bought the Haze trainers in 11.5 but felt my mid foot spill out and it appeared as so too. It's been so long since I've bought shoes, that I went with my Birkenstock size (44) and translated that to my shoe size. If you can help me out, should I go half a size bigger in the Haze, or get a 12 in the savage? I'll drop a like on every video if I can get your guidance, promise.

    Tearing, tread wearing down smh what a shame for such great looking shoes. They need to take A LOT of tips from XERO and companies alike. I've had my Prios for over a year and wear them every day and can hike in them and not 1 rip, tear, and ZERO tread wear. 5,000 mile guarantee and it shows. Also, Xero is cheaper. They look great, but are overall trash for that price and the issues they have. More cons than pros is never good. Thanks for the honest review. I'm going to buy another pair of XEROs instead. Hopefully they fix these issues and maybe I'll try them. Disappointing cuz all of their shoes look amazing.
