I think the next thing that is going to cause the most change are bespoke voice assistants that remember you and what they learn, entirely distinct and unique to the person. Right now the cost to run 4o voice appears to be the only thing stopping this from existing today.
Regarding the discussion at around min 51, perhaps Microsoft is simply the consumer-friendly version of Open Ai and that's why they change the name of the overlay?
At 54 min - if meta glasses include prescription lenses, you probably can't ask them to remove them, like in class. So, why wouldn't they do what cameras do and have a red light to indicate AI/surveillance use? Legislation...
LOL I'd prefer the glasses could tell me the person's name only as that's such a common problem. I don't need to be a spy and get all the personal info. Sadly I do think the centuries of enjoying privacy is over, we have too much available to us and there are plenty of "bad actors." And sadly, it produces more companies that capitalize on solutions.
How are we going to use and teach how to use these tools so they do not just become a shortcut to critical thinking? I am not worried about it and I think it is a great thing to optimize for.
