I can't go back to my 65" LG C9 OLED for GT7 now... while it looks great on the TV it now feels like I'm just controlling a painting from a distance. It's completely different from being *in* it! Been in VR since 2014 with the rift DK2 but PSVR2 with RE8 and GT7 has given me the best VR fun so far (even better than Alyx on my linked quest2).

I just bought gt7 g29 psvr2 and I’m really worried that gt7 in vr, will make using wheel on tv will be like going back to controller. If I love gt7 I could play for months, daily BUT if vr makes tv play, shit, then I won’t have anything else to play.
Gran Turismo 7 Polyphony should add a spottter, that would be so helpful then we could all lose the Hud in vr, a spooter would be super useful for tyre wear, fuel consumption etc, even weather tips would be more useful than the heads up display.
A tip if you want to get away with almost half the price on racing sim parts, look for used stuff around January or february, when people sell their christmas gifts.
Got the Yaw VR 2 and Quest 2 for my PC and while I am usually not playing any racing or other car / truck sims, this hooks me in. Even something easy going like Eurotruck Simulator 2 becomes a lot of fun when using a VR headset, a wheel/pedals combination and the Motion Simulator. For ETS2 you definitely need a keyboard and mouse to do the off the road stuff. The other racing game I tried is Dirt Ralley 2.0 and it has good support for my Wheel (Thrustmaster T300 GT, PS/PC version), so everything can be handeled through that. By gosh, am I bad as a ralley driver, really need to train 😂.
Hell yeah! I remember playing Eurotruck 1 on the Oculus developer kit and having a gay old time. Once I did a 10 hour session, building my company and headbanging to Europop, before I finally returned to my humdrum life of not being a struggling German trucker
Yeah with pcvr if feels like I always have to Change setting,turn mirrors down. All sorts of stuff just to get it to run smooth. And it seems to always change. Always tweeting it sucks. I’m looking forward to just PLAYING the game. Not fixing the games

Great rig...I have no space for a wheel but I have played the Gt series on a controller for years and it's still great I think but I imagine no where as good as a wheel..
If you're new to VR, it may take you some time to get used to, just take it slow, and little bits at a time. I don't suffer from.otion sickness, but I think the Yaw 2 could help some with it. Since your brain sees movement, and then your body is moving too, so there isn't that disconnect in your brain.

Does psvr 2 work with a motion rig? Another motion rig guy said it doesn't bec the VR isn't connected to thr seat and the headset won't compensate for body movements.
Yeah, unfortunately I haven't found a way to have motion compensation with the PS5. It's actually not too bad though with out it. Mostly noticeable on tracks with extreme elevation changes.
These are actually made for the Quest 2 from EngineeredAF, I just have them rigged on the the PSVR2. They are working in a recent injection mold process, and should have some available for the PSVR2 at some point.
Shawn, Would GT7 allow you to map gas and break to the paddle shifters And just use automatic transmission because I don't use pedals since I'm disabled. But I have the same wheel as you

This started as a kickstater, then covid hit so it has been hard for them to keep up with demand. Hopefully this year they will be able to increase the number of units they are putting out. Not sure how much longer till the basic unit is back in stock. It's pretty maintenence free, other then just checking bolt tightness periodically. I havent had any issues with mine so far, knock in wood. I have used it a lot too.
Curious how you got motion compensation to work on PC? Did you need a separate vive tracker or something? I have my Yaw2 coming in hopefully by next month and want to have that figured out before I get it if possible!
Does it make you dizzy when you spin out? I know I once tried VR sim racing without motion sim and I got really dizzy, but it was probably because I kept spinning out (and my body expected to feel the spinning out real life feeling, but it didn't and it made me really dizzy).
I have the Yaw VR 1 and was thinking about upgrading to the 2. However, the continuous issue with motion compensation, and the fact that the motion rig sometimes just noise dive for no apparent reason is a turn off.
Unfortunately no motion compensation with PSVR2 at this point. I use witmotion add on and Sim Racing Studio for motion compensation with PC. I don't think Yaw 2 ever nose dives for no apparent reason. It will nose dive with heavy braking. This is all adjustable with Sim Racing Studio though. I like a lot of movement with mine, still adjusting to find the perfect settings though

You're still wearing diving glasses, the mura, the graininess, the motion blur. I own the PSVR 2. My advice, just accept it. It is what it is. The more you play it the less you pay attention to those things because your brain starts to block them out. But goodness gracious were we all conned. Let's just be honest. If anybody tells you the PSVR 2 is great they are lying through their teeth. At best, it's decent. It is entry level VR at a very VERY steep price. That's it. I enjoy it. I enjoy it a lot in fact. I am also someone who speaks the truth. I don't sweep things under the rug. I want people to know what they are buying. Because it's not cheap at all. It is very VERY expensive. It is worth more than the PS5 itself. So I just want to make sure people have their expectations of the PSVR 2 in check!!!!!
Yeah, we went in to great detail about our thoughts on the PSVR2 on our last Coffee & VR show. There are a lot of things I really like about the headset, and others I do not. I am really enjoying it though. It's not without its flaws though.

Is there a way to stop the viewpoint moving up and down when acceleration and braking? Ie. When you accelerate, your seat along with the vr headset moves down on the y axis. Making the viewing in the vr world drop and the opposite braking makes your head "go through the roof"

@@lowellbrown1122 it’s a fundamentally flawed motion rig in terms of racing. It’s fine for flight sims. But the movement is completely unnatural for racing and the motions are all wrong.

What's hard to believe is they are going to add esports to the Olympics. The crazy thing is this is the game they are adding for motorsports. It's a great game but they should have picked a more sim racing game, like iracing.
I did, I'm sending my psvr2 back. Sorry but people are vastly overhyping VR. I also had a quest 2. And gt7 is more fun on a 2d screen. And Forza 5 is even better. No where close to being worth the time and the hasel of constantly having to fidle with it, let alone worth the price. Psvr 2 thumbs 👎
@@RenderedReality To be fair if he's speaking from a simmer pov most simmers only mess with very subtle haptics/motion, while the YAW 2 experience seems more like a "roller coaster" type motion experience. Not trying to slam the YAW 2 in anyway as I think it's a fantastic device but from what I understand expensive motion rigs are attempting to simulate the movements of a vehicle as accurately as possible. By that extension, expensive wheels/pedals are doing the same thing for providing feedback to be a better racer. That being said what you got here is definitely more than ideal for 99% of people who are wanting an "ultimate" VR experience.

So good! Hopefully soon they'll add the missing in-game data we can't see in VR, notably for best lap & pit/track location data, etc.

I use an Xbox controller to navigate menus in ETS 2. Don't need to take off my headset.

The view is supposed to move as your head moves in VR. So when the chair moves you move. Maybe there is to much latency only?

Fwiw you mention when you let go of the wheel it shakes side to side. I have a DD Pro on PS5 it does the same thing.

Theu seem to last a long time, I have had it for a while and beat the crap out of them, never had any issues so far.
They're completely made out of plastic, plastic gears too. They will inevitably break. I'd give it about 5 years of solid use.
I had my g29 for 6 years and now I experience flickering with the gas pedal on and off now but just open and clean it out. Wheel still works like new.
