Love to recommend Cats Don't Dance, great singing, dancing and a message on the tragedy of prejudice and the greatest Animated Villain ever that's not Disney!
Another level of feels: years ago Bono got into a motorcycle accident and messed his arm up real bad. He recovered, but he lost the ability to play the guitar ever again. A small loss albeit seeing as he's been mostly just vocals lately in his career, but it's still sad to lose such a skill that contributed to his early music. Even though it's animated, seeing his character play the guitar here was very emotional.
Bono actually did the speaking lines and the singing. He said in an interview that he imagined how he felt the character would sound as a singer that’s older and hasn’t sung in a while, which is why there’s a difference between the voices. I love Bono and Scarlett Johansson was so lucky to get to sing that music. Bono owns the rights to U2’s music and is very protective of the songs and the rights to use them.
Find it interesting that Johnny is the only one that has to learn a whole new ability in both movies. In the first movie he had to learn how to play the piano, and in this movie he had to learn how to dance
Didn't Johny know piano but had not played in a really long time so he was "rusty" and needed practice. I believe Moon confirmed with him if he had played it before, right after the castings were finished.
Porscha confronting and walking away from her dad with confidence is my favorite part. After that is Clays wife’s spirit showing up that hits the emotions hard.
Porsha “confronting” Jimmy was stupid to me. She was supposed to kick him in the face. She’s not a child anymore, she’s an adult. She knows better than that.
I definitely love the fact that the last scene before credits is a clear reference to the very first scene of Buster Moon in the first movie, when he goes to the edge of the booth and watch the show there. It shows how his love for theatre will always be with him even when he is all grown up. Ive heard lots of bad criticism about both movies in general, but this is one of those movies i wouldnt mind watching on a random day
Also, in the very first scene of the first movie Moon mentions his first dream as a child was being the first koala in space, and now in the second movie they actually produce a space musical 😄 so in a way, both his dreams came true in the end
I also like it because it feels like he’s looking directly at and noticing us, the audience watching the movie. Just love how happy he looks in that final shot :]
Halsey is Porsha Crystal Bono is Clay Calloway Letitia Wright is Nooshy Bobby Cannavale is Jimmy Crystal Eric André is Darius Chelsea Peretti is Suki Pharrell Williams is Alfonso Adam Burton is Klaus Kickenklober
It’s actually crazy that Seth MacFarlane is alive today since he was hungover and missed his flight which was one of the planes that hit the twin towers.
This movie is one of Illumination's best, I believe. It actually made me cry, which I wasn't expecting. Not to mention the music is beautiful, and the villain is crazy intimidating.
Sing 2 was such a huge improvement form the first one the music was so much better and the story was fantastic and vary emotional the whole cast did a great job
I was also surprised when I found out that Bono was also the speaking voice for Clay Calloway in addition to the singing voice. I had to look it up and apparently, he's also done voice acting for a show called Pandemica, which came out the same year as this movie in 2021
1:21:43 I mean is kinda obvious that Rosita got over her fear of heights after she jumped to save Moon. She continued the show and performed again for a bigger stage. Adding dialogue like you suggest it’s just more fluff and fat. We saw what happened the audience is smart enough to get that.
The first song to play at the beginning starts off strong with a song from Prince. Since Sing 3 is already officially on the table, hope they bring back Buster’s friend Eddie. Surely, John C. Reilly would love to return as his character. Eddie probably turned his mood around by now despite being absent in this second film.
I Googled it Bono not only played clay Calloway the whole character he very much enjoyed it according to what I read. He said " yes, I wanted to play a bad-ass lion misanthrope who shoots painball guns at kids and lives behind an electric fence.
Every time I watch the last part of this movie I can't help but think of how many crimes Moon actually committed to pull that show off. Criminal trespass, false imprisonment and theft. Not to mention at least two counts of attempted murder from when Crystal tried to drop moon off the building and when he dropped him at the end.
Just looked it up, and Wes Anderson played the lemur cleaner. A lot of filmmakers have cameos in the movie. Edgar Wright plays the dog saying "You got a license to perform here?" and also Jimmy's pig driver.
Lost my dad at 16. This was his favorite song (I still haven't found what I'm looking for) and I treasure my memories of him showing me this song. Seeing the scene at the movies, with my two daughters, broke me immediately. I cried my eyes out and my daughters comforted me. I miss you dad.
I have to admit I laughed when you said you wanted to see the show during the rehersal when I know how much better their actual performance is shown to be. I also love the fact the rich daughter just wants to be a part of the show and has no problem with it being a minor role because she's with friends.
Everytime i see Sing 2 or see reactions to it i tear up everytime at the scene where the spirit of Clay's wife walks up to him and the song during that scene is just amazing
Yet another movie I was waiting for. Just like trolls. My daughter watched this movie once and already knew the songs every other time we watched it. She loved this more than the first. And I do too. The scene with Johnny at the end when everyone are pounding their sticks and the tiger grabs a broom. My daughter asks for her broom bcuz she does it with then. It’s the best singing these songs with her. And I can’t wait to watch you guys watch it! John you’re great. And Roxy I freaking love you. You’re my favorite! ❤❤
Seeing the characters rise up in fame as singers and performers is so sweet 😭 we're literally watching them grow up throughout these movies This movie makes me interested in Bono and his music. I really like his songs in this movie and Clay is one of my fav characters ❤ His backstory with his wife is SO sad!! So many parts of this movie gave me chills and always does whenever i rewatch it.
Once again, imo, Johnny stole the show in this movie with his rendition of "A Sky Full of Stars" and his dancing skills, although Porscha singing "Should've Been Me" was also a big highlight of this movie.
Thanks Roxy and John! Love seeing the actors behind the voices do their thing. Just saw the video on UA-cam called "Sing 2 | Join The Actors Behind The Scenes | Behind The Voices" after watching this.
Bono originally didn’t want to do the movie or allow his songs to be used what convinced him was a recording of scarlet Johansson singing a u2 song and yes did the voice and vocals
I'm so excited you two reacted to Sing 2!! I got to say I really love the energy you two give off and it brings a smile to my face getting to chill out watching y'all reacting to this!! I'm so happy you loved it, it's just such a cute movie :D I'm excited to see whatever other reactions y'all do!! I love hearing your commentary, little singing moments, and fun banter!! I was feeling the feels and singing along with y'all!! Love your voices too!! There's just some much to love about the reactions 💛 My favorite characters in the first Sing are Rosita, Ash, and Johnny!! I think there's SO many characters to love in this, so its hard to pick just a top three 🤣Miss Crawley & Nana are some of my favs too :3
Something funny, when is Meena's performance, when I saw the ice cream seller on the stage I came without the context of Meena imagining he was there, so I thought he got into the stage and improvized.

(15:10) Appropriate to listen to “Bad Guy” shortly after Billie Eilish herself won an Oscar. (33:50) The moment Johnny meets Nooshy. This chemistry they have? It’s basically Shuri giving Eggsy motivation. (57:14) As it was with Ash’s “Set It All Free,” we now have an enchanting new song in Porsha’s “It Could’ve Been Me.”
@ReelRejects. I loved this reaction so much, the songs and characters are amazing and honestly you John and you Roxy have such great chemistry together, and the way the texts in this reaction scream Greg were hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂 although I gotta ask.....are you guys (Roxy and John) a thing? I see them looks you be shooting John Roxy 👀🤣🤣🤣🤣😏😏😏
Personally, I have no hesitation in saying that I like this one better than the first. And that's not in a sense of winners and losers, because, to be completely honest, both movies are fantastic. The first one gave us these characters, while the second one really let them shine. On top of that, the whole Mike plot from the first movie was... a bit of a drag. I'd have been... almost more okay if he didn't get to perform at the end, and I, for one, like to believe that he did get eaten. He was a miserable character who was content if not happy to hurt others to further his own interests. I'm not okay with him. I love that there's no dwelling on him, no hints to what happened to him, he was just an unpleasant mouse that everyone had to deal with in the first movie and then promptly moved on from to live their best lives. Definitely what he deserved. Mike was an annoyance and a source of turmoil, but Mr. Crystal was a genuine threat, and far more satisfying of a villain. The first movie definitely had quite a few strong emotions behind what was going on, but in this movie... even the emotional beats in this movie just feel more powerful. The stakes are bigger for everyone, and they don't hold back on the weight of them. Especially Johnny's triumph when Nooshy starts drumming... gives me legit chills, Portia finally telling her dad to stuff it, since he's never really supported her in the first place, and Calloway... the moment his wife appears beside him in the tunnel makes me cry every time. It was where the characters needed to go... and where they needed to grow, and I'm positively delighted with what we got.
What I always thought: This movie came out 2 months ant 7 days after Coldplay's "Music of the Spheres", I believe (if they had gotten the okay from the band) that "Music of the Spheres" would have also worked as a name for that play

"I don't know this song". What?? It's one of Prince's biggest hits. How can you not know it?
When is the nun 2 reaction and exorcist believer
If i were a singer i would just never release a song again out of fear of Taron Egerton covering it in a Sing movie and absolutely eating me up
