Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

The look on your daughter's face when she was driving that tractor was priceless! Those girls are gonna run that farm next generation.
Pardon my inability to spell her name right but illa for sure that girl loves farming.
Preston Searle They talked about how them moving has a big influence in that on the Off The Husk Podcast
@@schaefersshitposts guess I'll have to go listen. I've listened to a couple but I'm not the best at podcasts.
Only one problem, boys!! Lol!!
They already run the farm!
Zach: “these rts won’t get stuck too deep”
Jim:. “Hold my beer”
🤣🤣🤣
Thank you I needed that laugh, been a rough day.
John Deere Man Jim: Hey Zach hold my beer, I’m gonna go rippin I’ll be back for it later, put it in the fridge for me. 15 minutes later, Jim is stuck in the ripper tractor.
Hahahahaa
Zach: “These RTs won’t get stuck deep”
Jim: “hold my beer”
That's awesome
🤣🤣🤣
Speaking as a man who has lost his dad, I must say how enjoyable it is to see the interaction you and your dad share. He must be so proud of you Zach.
Thank You Becky, For making this production happen....
And it sure was thoughtful of them to include a "garage door remote recovery plate" in that skid loader design!
Those engineers always have good foresight!
1:12 - Zach - "must go deeper"..... that's what she said
1:35 That look.
Trying to keep it family friendly but ok
K R I know I nearly had to reply to my own comment lol
The look in his eyes you know he was thinking about it
I only got a 6”pipe. Gotta call randy the master pipe layer to assist
Your daughter was so pleased to receive that praise about driving the tractor! Stoke that fire!
This just made my day seeing the UA-cam notification popup
Same
I love looking out across the land when you’re working to see your dog running around watching you. Makes me feel like the world is good you know?
Have fun
At 5:53 I love that view of the tractor from the ripper
12:35 that’s what she said
This comment section is full comedy club and I'm dying
Arnas Vilhelmas Ik it’s kinda a joke in the comment section full of that’s what she said jokes
“I hope I never have to use these tow ropes!” -Zach, about 2 weeks ago
🤣🤣
You need to make sure they work 😂
@@MillennialFarmer it did look like they kinda helped keep the 8260 moving when the 8rt would stick in the mud again
"Hi I'm stuck!" The actor that plays Millennial Farmer should get an Oscar for that.
Definitely lol!
Great job spending time with the kids. I have always loved children. Raised five We adopted and took in several more over the years. Fifty+ years I still get calls from some of them. Nothing sweeter than hearing children in the background. Enjoy them.
Pretty Damn expensive way to walk the dogs. "Damn Millennials" always do it the easiest way 😂😂😂😂😂👍✌️
I learned how to drive when I was 4 with my grandfather.
It was a great experience.
These kids will be the greatest in the country
I see you found the remote access panel on the skid steer.
they probly just have to remove it to drain the remotes out of it once a week!
Man i gotta tell ya, i love your passion for John Deere, it just looks so smooth on your farm!
Well, i guess you have your answer as to who will be taking over the farm, she is a natural!👍
I agree with what you said on Off the Husk about Ila taking over the farm. she is the best helper you got and narrowly beats out Jim for the cutest😂😂
16:56 "now we'll get jim stuck down there" haha your dad cracks me up and im glad Jims coming out of his shell more and more every episode
Your daughters are absolutely adorable. You're a very lucky man
That Bloomberg cut - I literally laughed out loud. I'd tape a big piece of dowel to those remotes,
You ought to get some extra of those Yankum ropes, and permanently run them from the drawbar mount to a mount on the weight bracket. Then when you get stuck, all you've got to do is unhook the rope from the weight bracket, attach the tow strap to it, and you're pulling from the drawbar. Nice and easy.
That's how we run our scraper tractors anyway.
7:55 Wondered when the buried fire extinguisher would get brought up
I love that you take the girls for tractor rides and let them dive some there smiles are priceless, you be sure to save these videos for your retirement years you'll love to go back in time!
Epic montage Mr. Johnson
Thanks Nick!!
@@MillennialFarmer I'm just envious you are in the field already 😁
That is really early
Great video Zach
"Gravel Knob" was my nickname in college.
🤣🤣
Love to see a Deere against snow. Especially how you keep yours clean. We all have bad days of things not going plan. Pleased it’s not just me that things go wrong for. Ya do make me smile.
"these RTs don't get buried they just get stuck" me looking back at the video where Jim buried 9rt HMMMMMMMMM 😂 love the vids man
Just the tip, and only for a minute: If you pair the GoPro with your phone via wifi while you are recording, there is a function in the GoPro app that will make your camera beep, so you can find it. There is also a remote you can buy for the GoPro if you don't want to fumble with an app.
Sincerely,
- Someone who has also lost GoPros off of equipment
That little girl likes riding tractors, she's gone be a former one day just like her dad.
Pradeep former?
@@masonlynch1793 i wish i was. I am an IT engineer working on 5G. Love forming, watch MF videos and other former videos on my free time.
@@masonlynch1793 He knows at least two languages. Bet you barely passed high school English, and it's your native language.
What a cute smile she had after driving the tractor. Enjoy the kids at this age. Soon they will be teenagers and maybe flying the nest. They grow up so fast was just yesterday mine where that young. 30 years ago. Be safe and take care. 'Spin'.
The “Digger” ... Spud farmer here was expecting a Grimme !!!
Ok, your Bloomberg comment got me. That was hilarious. Thanks for all you farmers do for us. God bless you guys!
We had to fire Zach
Should have been the title poor Jim got a lot of manure over him getting stuck lol 😂 just saying
No...that would be the end of these nice Vlog's! :O
How cool 8 years old and she’s driving a $200K tractor very awesome! Thank you for all your HARD WORK!!! Respect for all American Farmers!!!
I was waiting for the “that’s what she said” after the “I stuck it in a little deeper an it worked better” 😂😂
is it the coming or the going thats best.
Zach , I don’t know how you guys get so much done in your weather zone . Eilla , loves those tractors , she is going to be your help in a few years . I was so glad to see your dad on your video , he is so cool ! ... I hope you find your go-pro !
I can't wait till planting and see the 2nd planter in action :D
That title was perfect for this video, most "day in the life" videos show the good stuff but you kept it honest and truthful
“After I stuck it in there deeper” Zach- looks at camera God I can’t wait for the next off the husk😂😂
I enjoy the way you share your job with your children. They will have that memory for a life time.
My Grandfather did that with me and it was the best time of my young life. I would say it made it made my life much better.
That pause and side glance after “after I stuck it in there deeper” lolol
just in comes to mind hold my beer
Teaching them at the right age, both in the field and in the shop!
"Must go deeper" that's what she said🤣😂
Cutest little shop helper, next to Jim that is! LOL Oh that was priceless
Oehh the new ropes in action!
Great video! The girls stole the show! Good luck finding the camera!
"must go deeper"
Not when you're in the muddy section 😨
I've been waiting to see those ropes in action, pretty handy
Dave LMAO 😂
On a Positive note with the snow on the ground it looks like late fall/early winter so it can make you feel good about getting all your fall tillage done!!!
"Hopefully we can get stuck, so we can use these new Yankum Ropes".
Gee, I wonder who it was that said that? lol.
It is nice that the girls are willing to learn about what needs to be done on the farm.
When ur so early u can’t steal any comments
Awesome to see the Girls out with their Pappa! well done @Millennial Farmer!
I wonder if Mike Bloomberg knows he could save $100 using you as a reference when joining FBN.
🤣🤣🤣 of course he does!
Mini-mike🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Anna cracks me up running up and down the field. And yes you have 2 of the cutest girls glad to see the 7 yr old wants to ride in the tractor this year.
“Just about pulled a Jim” one year later: Zach stuck
I nearly lost a GoPro in the snow this season. Stuck it in a windrow I was farming snow from and I picked up a bigger bladeful than expected.. I found it though 😁 the look on my face when I finally found it was priceless.
Must of found the Go-Pro? You were able to show it recording the tumble.
Correct
Love your content Zack. Thanks for all you do for us in the USA and Globally.
Great last name.
This will be Jim’s favourite video for a while I think lol
Oooh BOYEII! I love watching a good Recovery 👍🏼Zach that was a perfect hookup on the soft-shackle. Awesome placement. I’ve watched that bit 5 times now! Thanks for sharing!! 😎
Zack- "It looks a lot better on the way back when I stuck it in deeper (pauses, looks at camera)"
Matts off road recovery also uses Yankum ropes, he does some crazy shit with those. Awesome
A "red" rope pulled out a "green" tractor... how did that work?
I love how Isla is always connected at your hip! She sure loves the farm and learning from her Daddy!
6:22 "HI, I'm stuck" is unfortunately a phone call I've had to make too many times over
It's great to see your kids wanting to ride with you and driving the tractors.. I might be getting grey whiskers but I still remember my uncle stopping the old Oliver 77 by the farm house. He would leave it in gear so all I had to do was turn the switch and push the starter button with my foot then drive to the milk house and shut it off.. must have been around 8 years old.. and picking rocks they would let me idle across the field steering the Oliver 550... good memories
Ouch u got her a little stuck..
I grew up farming in Western Minnesota but have been in the Navy for 20 some years, so I always enjoy your videos to remind me of home. Plus, my brothers live in Brandon and Alexandria, so it's cool to see their current weather situation. Keep up the great videos!
Zach: "These RT's wont get stuck deep"
Jim: "Bullshit they wont!!!!"
You needto thank JD for the ‘remote’ access panel. Great vid, nice to see more co-stars.
Does that really count as "stuck?" You didn't have full tracks buried and it didn't take the entire crew to get out! lol
The future looks very bright with those girls learning about farming! Shout out to Austin - you've got company.
The thumb nail should have been we had to fire mn millenial farmer
I wonder how many people will say the same thing or think it
You just cant find good help these days 😂
Littlest one is a doll, # 1 helper.
First
Those are the luckiest/happiest two dogs I've ever seen.
Tractors stuck?
*Obligatory Jim comments inbound*
🤣🤣🤣 can't blame him this time!
@@MillennialFarmer Did Jim fire you? 🤣
@@CowfarmerDan Well, he wasn't the one driving the tractor home... 🤣
When i was young i was working for a farmer in the hay season and his son who was about 8 years old was driving the tractor and shuttling the hay wagons between the farm and the field 5 miles away!
The Bloomberg joke 🤣trump 2020🇺🇸
Well I think you got a new tractor driver! She was pretty excited after she got to drive!
Be safe. Enjoyed
when does the fs19 map come out
Very soon. Check Mappers Paradise UA-cam and facebook for updates
Zach, you do need low pressure tyres on the ripper. Most of the time; tractors are on good low pressure tyres but the ripper is on high air pressure which causes slip.
A day in the life of a farmer
So basically you get stuck everyday, huh?
Villeri some days they just play tug o war with their tractors.
and yes, I work at a farm LOL
I JUST LOVE WATCHING ALL YOUR VIDEOS, AND ESPECIALLY THAT SWEET LITTLE GIRL DRIVING THAT BIG TRACTOR AT 8YRS OLD, AND SHE LOVES IT, THATS THE BEST PART!!!! HUGS TO ALL OF YOU BE SAFE AND STAY HAPPY!!!!!
It has been a long time sense he got suck
When Zach looks back at the camera at the 1:40 mark.....priceless 😅🤣
Zack-“we were wet last year”that’s what she said
I love my Bubba rope (same idea as yankum) for the very reason you demonstrated. No hard yank, just tension then release as it comes up... no break, no shackle through the window...
Glad to see more of Jim in your videos lately! Keep the awesome videos coming!
Coming up 4 weeks indoors now in the U.K getting a little bored and the 2 year old boy going insane 😂😬 but watching these video from you Zak and family really help so ty from me and my family 👍
‘I’ve flipped a tractor, zero times.’ And thats a good thing!! Lol The memories of riding with my dad when I was that size. Great vid Zach. Thanks Cheers
Great vid. Thank you for taking the time to show us your daily life. Cheers from Oregon.
One nearly new GoPro M.I.A., two garage door openers found, special gift to make wife happy and getting stuck in a moooiiisssst spot all in a day of The Millennial Farmer. Won’t be long Zach for getting to it!
We have to open our gehl every summer after harvest to remove straw and dust, just to be sure nothing catches fire. Always a few tough spots to reach but never found an opener :)
On my 332 skid there’s a pin you push out from behind the seat in the cab to safety lock to boom up for service work, or finding lost items under the floor :)
that reminded me of my dad teaching me how to drive a tractor and our truck when I was 8yrs old helping our neighbors on their farm
