Sailing and living out at Sea is the only thing that I really want to do. It's the only thing that I dream about I constantly watch these videos because in reality it's probably the closest I'm going to get to it. You folks are truly living a blessed life.
My UA-cam is on all night long or I wake up in silence in my nightmare world. Then THIS came on and I HAVE NEVER SLEPT BETTER. I just need 8-11 hours. But now I am going to watch what made me sleep SO good. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for filming and posting this!!!!!
I have 5 sailboats. Last year I was so busy I never got to take any of them out on the water. The year before, 2017, I only went out once. By being able to view this video... I was taken there again. Thanks for choosing to do something different. This video feels more 'normal' to me. It is past my bedtime, but I can't turn this off. lol. Peace unto all of us.
Loan me one of your boats and I'll do with it what it was designed for, not sitting still somewhere. Just kidding. I'm building an OZ Racer RV in my garage. Hardly in the same league, but it will get me on the water. Just waiting for the spring to warm enough to go out and finish it up.

"Five sailboats" is RIDICULOUS! You have an obsession that should be addressed with mental therapy. Seek it at once, for your own good! Materialism, at its worst, can only do you more harm than good. Simplicity is always best for the spirit.
A beautiful day spoiled through beating to wind ward. The ease with which Delos does it though is the reason you guys are still out there doing what you love. No boat will ever replace the bonds you have with Delos and will probably be the beginning of the end.
Just a great addition to the Delos catalog of videos. Very enjoyable to put this on a big screen, darken the room, and find moments of Zen, particularly while underway; watching the swell and wind chop, with Delos pitching and rolling, the mesmerizing sounds of wind and wave, the rigging and the occasional voices. I feel it really captures how it must be to be aboard without having to be "on" for the edited videos. It was a great way to space out, and also to be a so-called fly-on-the-wall. A short stint as a virtual Delos crew member, but without the chores! Thank you for taking me along!
Finally!, just pure sailing hull waves cruising sound. No selfies, monologue, etc. I been expecting some sailing channel did just that...for old cruisers sake...mucha suerte, mucha Gracias !..
This might be the greatest Delos episode ever, let me explain why I feel this way. My wife buys an exercise bike, and since I don't care to go with the right hand for an extended period of time, I agree to put it together when it arrives. I come home from work and there it is. I'm struggling to find motivation to put it together, and I find myself online looking at UA-cam videos, and there it is, SLOW TV - Passage To Tobago. OW HELL YA, I'M IN !!! For me this video could not have arrived at a more perfect time. Slow and methodical, that exercise bike goes together, with many breaks to enjoy the wind and the waves. It's like you knew what I needed and when I needed it. Just an absolute masterpiece.
Hey Jeff, wow this is very cool I never imagined this scenario for watching Slow TV but it certainly makes sense. Fair winds and happy exercising! Brian

I like how y'all show that it isn't always a party and it is actually slow paced. I also enjoyed seeing everyone relaxing and actually, not doing a thing. I'm pumping myself up for my trip March 3rd! Thanks guys for putting this together!
This is so relaxing. I needed this in my life. Can't believe UA-cam hasn't recommended this video to me till now. I would've watch this 2,000 times by now
This is so relaxing! I miss sailing. My parents had a 27’ Catalina in Seabrook Texas and those sailing days were some of the best days of my life so far! Good thing my classes were cancelled today! It’s raining and cold here in North Carolina where we live now. Good day sit back and act like I’m sailing with you guys! And Yes, I’m a 37 year old student. Graduate in May!
your not missing much now, they are completely redoing 146 and expanding it to a 6 lane highway. the seabrook marina has been cut off due to the construction.. sad times, will make the wednesday night races a pain!
Much better video!! Love feeling like I’m learning too. I could close my eyes and let the sound of the waves put me to sleep. Wake me when you need me to help drop that sails. 😴😴😴
Thank you. This is exactly what I crave when watching cruising videos. I felt like I was there with you. Delos really takes the wind well and matches along. Thanks for the real sounds. No music is great.
I agree John, I love this video. The sounds and view is fantastic. Makes us feel like we are there with them. Wish I could be there with them.( just a little jealous. LOL)
Now that is a welcome change from the ordinary, finally someone actually sailing. I enjoyed every minute. The process of getting underway then how quickly everyone transitions to chill mode, this can only happen sailing.
I actually fell asleep while resting my head in my hand listening to Delos cut throught the waters. What Sensory Response gets better than that 😊. Thanks for the "slow sail". It was beautiful, and fulfilling.
Love this episode yet hate it . love it as it reminds me of the 3 1/2 years spent on my beloved first boat. She was my home but so much more she was my spirit my soul. When I raised her sails . I could feel not only the wind but I felt intimately connected to the whole planet. I miss that and I miss my boat. She was a 1973 O'Day 37 center cockpit sloop. I loved her
So reminds me of my sailing days, the flurry of activity before you raise the hook, setting and trimming the sails then falling into the rhythm of the sea.
I love this video, talk about keeping it real - this is great. Relaxed, chilled just shows that picking up and setting of is not a five minute procedure awesome, no music just chat, the sea and Delos sheer magic. Thanks for this one it's fabulous. Stay safe.
Just love the Delos crew ..makes my day watching these amazing professionals navigate across vast Oceans .. please keep doing what you do and congratulations Brian and your lovely wife Karin .. from Micky 🌷🍀🍀

I really like how you did it in actual time. Like any other day any other Sail. FABULOUS video, guys. I nearly skipped this, because the previous slow TV of sailing was beautiful, but... s l o w. This, setting out and knowing where you are going, is really watchable. It would be really good to have occasional annotations edited in during this with some explanation of what we're seeing - time, maybe, and temperature; windspeed and course and a map and speed through the water; and at some points, a summary of what everyone's doing down below, as a snapshot. It was good when Brian was explaining setting sail to the newbies. Thanks again for all your work.
I totally agree with this. I loved the commentary by brian about what was going on. It was cool to see putting the mizen out and hearing how to be easy on it as its being taken out. I think an easy addition to this would be to put markers in saying what you are doing when so that someone can skip slow parts or go directly to what they want to see, should be quick and not a ton of production time.
@Roger Stone, LOL, okay glad you're not being investigated ...but was just wondering. I grew up with a Roger Stone. Many moons ago. Have a awesome day. 😊😊⛵⛵

I LOVE these kind of videos!! Excellent !!!! I wish you guys would do one of these whenever you make a passage or at least once a month. Makes me want to hurry up on my boat build so that I can get out there myself!!
The cameraman/helmsman/captain(and engineman) does an awesome job, as do the rest of the crew, going from the anchorage to underway and sailing. Reminds me of being in the Caribbean enjoying the warm weather and balmy breezes, although our vessel was somewhat bigger at 887' and 212k shp and no sails. I was wanting to see what all the winches went to and how the sails were deployed and this showed all of that. After seeing other vessels I like the design of Delos with the helm and winches in the center and protected. We had a young man jump over board while down there. Guess he needed to go swimming in the warm waters. They put the rudder over smartly and had him back on board in short order. Nothing like good seamanship! You guys/girls rock.
Thanks for allowing me to experience casting off the lines. It was so great to just see all the other boats slip out of your way and open ocean in front!!
I’m very fond of, not just the Delos crew, but of Delos herself. I like to view her as one of the family. And so it was nice to see her take center stage for a couple of hours and show us land lubbers what she does best. I’d love to see a similar video in heavy seas with big swells.
Really like this new format of starting “in media’s res”, no musical opening, no previews, etc. just pure sailing and the sound of the wind and the boat going thru the waves. What a nice change in format. Puts your videos in a new light and I can appreciate the crew working silently together in a well practiced way I never saw this before. Really nice video. Thanks
This is actually a really cool video because you get to see things that you normally don’t get to see on your regular videos! Loved it, thanks guys for changing the script and sharing with us! 👍🏻🍻
@@CaptMarkSVAlcina Hi, timber boat Seasalter. My husband Brad helped crew for the boat show. We are getting as much experience as we can before we get our own boat. Head off sailing for a few years with the kids.
@@svdelos thanks Brian, we have 6 daughters (age 2-11) who have seen most of your videos. Brad would like to get offshore experience before he takes us all on a few year trip. Brad grew up sail port Philip bay and down at lakes entrance. We have been watching you since the first year. Thanks for all the great episodes. Our plan was to leave by the time we turned 30 but another year or so and we should be right to go, we are 32 now.
Seeing you 2 hug made my day. I need a hug. and a sailboat lol. Working on it. I like the slow tv. Every other video has an agenda, the world needs to slow down. :)
Yes, I like this kind of video logging as much as the other kinds. Watching the SV Delos from these viewpoints gives me the feeling of being onboard. I think I could watch and should watch just to understand the exileration and also the boredom of the sameness of long voyages. PS The boat makes a pleasant sound creaking through the shifts upon the stresses as she moves through the small mountains.
My new Screen Saver . . . while not on the computer I just let this video run. Beautiful photography without music, highlighting the simple sounds of the sea, the wind, and the crew as Delos cuts through the swells and sails on. This is very relaxing. Thank you, Delos with all the best from Bullhead, Arizona on the beautiful blue Colorado.
I actually woke up with a start thinking, "Did we lose the mast." The sounds of Delos made me think I was back on my buddies sailboat and I was straining to hear the tink tink tink of the wires inside the mast. I hadn't realized how much I missed being on the boat. Thanks for bringing me back.
Reminds me of my time in the Royal Canadian Navy, just chilling on the bridge wing, or lying above the bridge watching the stars in the south pacific. Thanks Delos! Fair winds and following seas!
Delos Crew, Am glad to see one long version of a passage. Especially the preping the boat for sail. People like myesly who are inthe process of buying our first sailboat need to see this. Love and Respect to you all will see you out there soon.
Well, that was awesome! What a peaceful morning I’ve had with my Saint Bernard, my coffee, my “essential oil” 😋 and the sights and sounds of Delos. Fantastic! Thanks, Delos! ✌🏼
........ thank you all for more than you know in helping this old dude now living and loving life on the mid coast of beautiful Maine to not be afraid but longing to explore what's over each new horizon offered I might reach.. onward to the next however near or far. And remember.. the Earth has but one horizon as seen from its central perspective.. a perspective Mankind must soon find and accept and promote amongst ALL people if there is any hope for our lot ..
The sound of the waves itself is very calming to my ears coupled with rolling and pitching of the ship that tricked my mind that I was there. I had a great dooze on my couch of that 2 hours ride. Awesome job DELOS for keeping it RAW.
Arrrh!! Delos! Wunnaful to sail so quietly upon the sea..Much Thanks for this and all your other vids..Great work on the switch Brian..I'm sure you've got the new one in by now..Fair winds and calm seas from icy cold Montreal Canada..Cold beer's and a hot meal's on me when you show up.. (Edel 540 You'll Sea once long ago)..
Pre departure passage prep.....this reminds me of the great feeling of anticipation we always had before every passage no matter how short or long it was going to be. Even after many years of cruising, getting ready to leave for a new destination always left us a little "breathless" with the anticipation of another new adventure! We were always "stoked" too! But no fishing? Maybe a "first Delos catch of the season" video. It would be fun watching your new crew sliding around on the stern like Brady used to do trying to subdue a good sized wahoo, a good initiation, lol!
very relaxing video.sailing in perfect conditions with a harmonized crew. Also It is perfect to fall asleep what happened to me.Because I have to overcome a bad illness Delos is a good medicine for me. Delos Crew I thank you !
I LOVE what you guys are doing with the new videos and how you are going about it! It's really cool to get a birds eye view of the reality of what happens in real time on Delos...As well as the alternative view from when you shot the last short video! Some cool new stuff here! Awesome!!!...I'm going to buy you guys a case of beer at some point hahah!...Keep up the great work and keep trying new things with your videos!!
This video is an absolute must watch, particularly for those who are looking into the cruising lifestyle. For the most part it is truly mind blowingly boring! Though it's also a real view into the reality of cruising. If you can watch this for hours and still be interested, then consider doing it for numerous days on end. If you find that appealing, then cruising might be for you. I've actually watched this video the whole way through several times and I still find it interesting.
We're very interested in 'slow TV', no presenters, muzak or opinion, just an immersive tour with natural sounds and sights. Thanks for adding this really enjoyable one. I hope between us we can spread these kind of videos around a little. It's a great way to learn more about our world.
I have found my going to sleep soundtrack . Now ..... just need to figure out how to make the bed gently heel from side to side ! Great work Delos Crew Love from down under ! 💖💖💖

I fell asleep watching some other video and hours later I was half dreaming when I started hearing just sounds of this vide.. and just wind and wave and creaking boat. Thank you Brian and Kaz and SV Delos for this video and as I scroll around you even show us different views. Nice !!!.. 4"45am and still having trouble seeing while I type with one eye open... but this was sooook nice a way to enjoy the night... on the sea.. on Delos with Winkin, Blinking and Nod for one sleepy passage.and now one rewound to the beginning with you and your friends and family more awake... THANK YOU!!! I have a lot of meditations in a UA-cam folder and this is certainly one of my favorites ..
I really enjoy watching the real time mode of leaving port and taking off on the next journey. It gives a great perspective, like actually being there. Shows the ends and outs of it all in real time, which I'm sure was your objective. May seem boring to some ( slow TV = lol), but I truly enjoyed it. It's been freezing rain in this neck of the woods today, So I mixed up a couple Bacardi & 7Up's and kicked back and enjoyed the ride. Thanks for the vid. Looking forward to your on going video evolution and your new adventures in 2019. Cheers

This is actually a really cool video because you get to see things that you normally don’t get to see on your regular videos! Loved it, thanks guys for changing the script and sharing with us! 👍🏻🍻
For me that is a "priceless video" Thank you Guys for sharing. Keep enjoying every second of a balanced life! Cheers!
This is great, I just sailed from Melbourne to Hobart for my first offshore sail two weeks ago. I'm ready to go back to this life.
Janice Thomas , which yacht did you go on as I am from Melbourne and at HBYC
@@CaptMarkSVAlcina Hi, timber boat Seasalter. My husband Brad helped crew for the boat show. We are getting as much experience as we can before we get our own boat. Head off sailing for a few years with the kids.
Congrats Janice that is awesome experience:) I sailed a J24 out of the yacht club by Sandringham when I lived in Melbourne. Brian
This is exactly what I needed while watching it snow outside! Hello from Montana!
Wow, yet another cool use case for this I never considered. Nice! Fair winds- Brian
Sounds like paradise my friend. Kick back and enjoy :)
I love the sounds and sights on a moving vessel at sea in fair weather. Love the smell of sea air in the morning.
........ thank you all for more than you know in helping this old dude now living and loving life on the mid coast of beautiful Maine to not be afraid but longing to explore what's over each new horizon offered I might reach.. onward to the next however near or far.
Finally someone who puts a microphone with a decent wind shield.Awesome to be part of the crew. Awesome, please do more with top sound quality.
This looks so peaceful...I see why you love sailing....
Love this! Thanks Guys!! Safe travels and will be watching! 👍👍💯💯😘😘💗💗💗
Arrrh!!
I’m not sure they fish anymore.
This might not be for everyone, but it sure makes my day! Thanks!
Thanks for showing the real life on Delos unedited. Enjoyed the preparing and sail!
Look forward to another one of these soon.
Thank you for putting this up guys. It was a very chill thing to have playing in the background as I got some stuff done around the house.
Such a cool way to passively vibe out to Delos while working on stuff -- more please!
very relaxing video.sailing in perfect conditions with a harmonized crew. Also It is perfect to fall asleep what happened to me.Because I have to overcome a bad illness Delos is a good medicine for me. Delos Crew I thank you !
Sending you good vibes and lot's of love from Delos to you Sreter. Hope you get well soon brother.
Thanks for the positive vibes, means a lot to us :)
Like it? I like it a lot!!! These kinds of videos are nice in that they give me a bit of a glimpse of what it's like to sail. Thank you.
Wow this is so cool. Very relaxing and pleasing. Thanks for showing a little of the daily live you all get to live. Happy Sailing.
Ya gotta love Amel's sail handling equipment! Of course an experienced crew makes it look easy.
Finally!! Sailing with no stupid music! Thanks!! :)
My favorite episode yet.
I second John Donaldson's comment -- what I have been waiting for all along, the real sense of sailing, unvarnished
Thanks Martin and fair winds to you mate!
i've seen bed frames hung like hammocks so they will sway somewhat.....takes some serious engineering though
@@svdelos What a great video...you always have great ones but this is the first time I felt I was there sailing with you. The bow crashing through the water gave me the chills....I so wanted to cruel up and go to sleep...soooo soothing. Sometimes less is more and this surely was the time. Thanks so much for sharing.
A vibrator under the bed may do...😊
Martin Crowe hammock
Watching the shots in the cockpit. Not much movement in the wheel on autopilot. Sails well balanced. Bravo skipper!
Cheers
Wonderful! Brings back some great memories. Thank you so much.
Thanks 3 hour vid it's 2 am looks like I'm not working tomorrow but drinking a beer
Excellent video again! Love the SLOW TV concept. The videos from the back of the ship looking forward were the best, showing what people are doing, how the sails are being trimmed, etc. Keep these coming! Thanks.
I have to say this has got to be the most perfect camera position for this video 👍
