Great job man, you're gonna make a great officer to mold those young enlisted into independent leaders of the own! I ship Next month on the 18th as enlisted. That's pretty common. My biggest tip of BMT if you wanna make it through is DO NOT get injured. If you do, you basically have to suck it up unless it's life threatening. I know a lot of people that had shin splints and I'm pretty sure I had a bit of that myself but my main tip is that you have to have good form when running and don't do that little runners jog people do to fake running. That's what causes a lot of impact because you're not transferring all that weight. You're basically stomping the ground with all your weight.

    • @IvanOfficial01

      Durgalur Jay That sucks man, I remember when I went about a year ago and had stress fractures and shin splints, I just sucked it up, crazy how if I didn't I wouldn't have made it. Best of luck to you though!

      I remember when I went through I developed a horribly agonizing shin splint and sucked it up for a good 2 weeks until it finally went away. I'm glad I didn't go to medical because I didn't know you could get discharged for it

    • @yoooogabs
      @yoooogabs 7 років тому +1

      He's wearing Nike Air Maxes in this Video but aren't really running shoes in my opinion. They fit you at BMT for shoes that fit your foot if you don't bring shoes that are correct to BMT so go to a shoe store specifically a running shoe store and get fitted according to your foot.

    • @55inchSamsungTV
      @55inchSamsungTV 7 років тому

      551223 I find that hard to believe tbh. We did a looot of running but I guess it depends the time of year you went to basic. I knocked my run time down to around 10:15 by the time It was over.

    • @ida4587
      @ida4587 7 років тому +1

      Gabby Miernik Thanks for your answer. I just bought myself a pair of Brooks Glycerin 14 at a specialized store where they measure my feet. I hope to take them to BMT after I break them in. Now I am looking at videos of how to run properly and breath properly because I am a noob at this but I am doing better each day. Doing interval training for starters until I can run that mile and a half easily.

    It looked like you used a sit-up bar to hold down your feet during sit-ups. Can a sit-up bar be used? If so can the type that hooks on a door be used? My son is getting ready to do his test.

    • @connors6178
      @connors6178 3 роки тому

      I'm way late but for anyone who looks at this in the future. Yes, a bar is allowed. Someone can hold you feet as well if you don't have a bar. I'm 99.9999% sure of this, although it doesn't say so explicitly in the PDF instructions for USAFA, the image does have the test administrator holding the tester's feet.

    • @DustyMagma
      @DustyMagma 2 місяці тому

      @@connors6178 You can use anything or anyone to hold down your feet. You can't have someone move your legs closer together or otherwise help you with the actual reps.

I don’t mean to be rude. Just want to know if you have to meet all the requirements. I watched the CFA test video, it’s a pass fail thing.

      In order to get into the academy you need to first apply (obviously), but the application isn't like normal college applications. You need many steps including interviews from your ALO, congressional nomination, and the CFA (what is in this video). There is a wealth of knowledge at this link www.academyadmissions.com/admissions/the-application-process/application-steps/ good luck in applying, I just got in this year. I was rejected last year, but don't let that get you down. Remember perseverance is key!
