The pre owned car market is south Africa at the moment is crazy . If you're looking for a second hand vehicle right now and you've found something, offer the dealer 15&20 % less than the asking price as that would be the actual retail book value . Also take into account that you have registration fees and other admin costs . That would be around 4k . Check when the last and next service is , because most people sell just before a major service because it's really costly . Check the tires are the same make , model and have legal amount of tread . Make sure all panels line up and paint all matches in colour . Buying pre owned is a gamble for sure and definitely don't rush into buying something that seems to good to be true .

High mileage car with a clean body means that car was well taken car of and has reached the point where It needs a few expensive bits replaced so owners choose to sell
I bought a Suzuki swift 2017 1.2ga in 2020 for 90k with 42000km, after servicing it, it has never broke down on me. I always service it on time and ask my Mechanic if it needs something new. My only mistake was having an accident with it in 2021, I drove it for a year and in 2022, I had to work on the suspension after being fixed. As insurance only fixed the body but not the mechanical DAMAGE, indoda made a plan. I knew that it was accident repair after buying and Nami I had the accident on the same side. Beside that, it as clocked 100000km last week and fuel efficiency is 19km/l. Buying an 100k car, please do check accident repairs and all.

Bought a second hand car in 2018, toyota Auris x 2015 model. It was sitting at 90k km going for 170k. Till ths day it has never given me any issues except for the brake pads and light bulbs.
My 2007 A4 has 313,000 km, engine top was redone last year (it cost a lot) and I'm planning to do the suspension this year and maybe refresh the headlights. With these old cars you have to be very consistent with maintenance and the car will take care of you. It also helps to know how to do some things yourself, just in case. Also find a good workshop /mechanic. I want to buy another high mileage Audi as a performance car project, just something to use as a toy and to learn from. 😁
@@MuziSambo my biggest worry when it comes to old high performance cars is parts but there are a few good part store in MP and Jhb for the Germans. But an old car needs a monthly allowance, it's worse than girlfriend allowance 🤣.
Well said Doc fruitfull information as always... we also shouldn't be pressured to buy any car let's grind and have a slightly hire capital to buy a decent car... Danko Doc

Hi Muzi, great video, but I don't agree with your comment on Mercedes Benz. I have been driving my ML for 8 years ,it's at 258 000km and no issues. I drive I between my two homes in Nelspruit & Midrand. I also use it for my daily commute to my office in Vanderbiltpark. The Merc ML is a workhorse and I will recommend the brand at any time
Now let's get practical, how much do you spend on service and wear and tear items compared to someone who decides to buy one of the cars that Muzi recommended. It's not that the German machines are not reliable. It's just that they are more expensive to repair on the case where something were to go wrong and need replacing.
Don't forget about normal wear and tear items. Those wide tyres look nice but they've got a nice price too and a lot of people don't put money aside monthly to cover those costs when they need to be replaced .
Muzi Sambo, please do a full detailed video on scam dealerships on Autotrader. Some of their cars appear to be good, but the prize is sometimes ridiculously low and also you may find out that the same car is being sold by 5 different dealerships.
