The moissanite I have in my collection is an Excellent cut VVS2 3 carat round brilliant and it is soooo clean and sparcly. The gem you have in your ring must be a lower grade moissanite. Nevertheless, very interesting video still! :)
That's not necessarily true. Similar to diamonds, Moissanite stones can come in various colors and clarity. If it's of lower color/clarity than it looks good for it's type. The cubic zirconia does look better though. Honestly, would not recommend paying thousands for moissanite jewelry as it's more expensive, but value wise it's resell value is around the same as a cz stone.
This is untrue, due to the refractive index of a moissanite, moissanite in fancy cuts all have uneven and blurry facets, cz is so popular because refractive index of it is the same as a diamond making the facets of it very clean, as a gemologist I can see the difference between moissanite and diamond...I would just go with lab diamond to be honest nowadays they cost the same as moissanite
I was comparing a diamond to moissanite yesterday. The diamonds looked more like your moissanite in colour. The moissanite I have is more like your CV. The larger CV stones I have don't sparkle that well because the cut isn't so good.
Not a fair comparison. The CZ is cut in a Marque fashion and the Moissanite is cut as an Oval. The two cuts show different refraction and reflection patterns to the eye making the exact comparison impossible. This plus not knowing the quality of the original rough material of both has an important factor. I am a stone cutter and a graduate gemologist.
When CZ first became available as a diamond simulant it was also rather expensive as is Moissanite is today. Moissanite is really a form of Silicon Carbide and is dropping in price and in a few years will sell for pennys a carat like CZ.
I have Moissinite but the one that you got is poor quality. So not the best sample, mine look nothing like that, farthest thing away from cloudy. They do have different quality moissinites, I would return that Etsy one! JMHO
What the heck! Where is the moissanite from? Also that is a nice cubic zirconia! Do you have a link or name of the specific seller? I want a cubic z for when I don’t want to wear the real thing
The moissanite ring is from Etsy, the store DazzleDreamss - www.etsy.com/listing/1220975627/ The CZ ring is from AliExpress. Here is the link to the CZ stone ring :) a.aliexpress.com/_mN8RsqA
The one on the left has horrible prongs and looks VERY poor quality. I have a hard time believing that stone is a moissanite. Ive never seen one that cloudy or yellow. Get it tested, it looks horrendous. The cz has lovely prongs but not great fire. They both look like costume jewelry. The "bow tie" effect indicates poor light dispersion.
I don't want to upset you. They sold you a stone of the poorest quality. My wife has earrings with moissanites, they sparkle so much that they can be seen from a distance of 3-4 meters. Compared to it, cubic zirconia looks like glass.
My moissnite looks nothing like the one you have. Maybe if you got a colorless one instead of a GHI color. C.Z.'s are meant to look perfect and that's why the c.z. looks so fake to me. Your moissnite is ugly( sorry).
@@RingsAndCoffee I disagree, early moissnite did have a yellowish look, but it still is far closer to a real diamond of that size because the CZ just looks so fake! Natural moissnite was discovered in the 1800s and names after the bloke who was examining a meteor strike, it's hardness is bettered only by diamond.

Good moissanite looks WAY better than this. You must have gotten a dud! 😵
You might be right! If you know of any good sellers, please let me know

@@sooosuss7154lab diamonds are way higher than moissanite… mossanite by damnear 5x 1 cwt moissanite is 350$ compared to 1100$ lab diamond
Actually I have 2 moissanites and they look so different and clear, the color is white and the shininess is awesome
Yes same. It makes me wonder if she mixed up the rings because the CZ is usually cloudy and the Moissanite is clear and deep and very glittery.

I think, in fact, that Ring says wrong: she inverted the gems: on right is moissanite and on left is zirconia.
The cz looks better

Massive difference in looks. Moissanite is best looking diamond like gemstone
Hi! Thank you for your comment!
My moissanite ring is clear and sparkles with amazing fire.
It’s a quality moissanite. This one looks cheap and yellow

That’s a bad moissanete
Your Moissanite is of horrible quality
Esta mas bonito el zirconia 😹😹
Your moissonite looks cloudy and has poor light refraction.
Yep, it does indeed look cloudy
thats very very poor cz and moissanite
