If you do leave it in a library, you need to do two things; 1. write in it with a UV sensitive ink pen for permanent invisible writings and 2. create a library label for the spine of the book with a decimal card catalog entry. There are many libraries here in MA where some of the books go back more than 100 years so antique the label with tea and make it match the other books in the section. Then write in a link to this video somewhere inside!
What a talent sir, you are the Jack of all trades when it comes to hobbies
Thanks! It's fun to try out all of these different things and figure out ways to make them work!
The concept of this channel is what is what I dream of being able to do one day.
My suggestion for a project would be a clay fired mug for your hot drinks!!
Detail for wet leather forming. Suggestion. Go to Dollar Store and pick up several garment vacuum bags. Wet your leather, lay it on your form, put it in the bag and, with a vacuum cleaner, pull the air out of the bag and seal it, then use a plastic rounded tool to form the leather to the object underneath. Leave it in until it dries. This will give you the detail you desire.
Gotta say man, you are one talented person. I watched you do that whole process and it was great. I actually think I may tackle binding my own book now. Thanks!
Looks awesome! It needs a matching bookmark. Maybe when you build a wizard's tome, you could glue a few ribbons into the spine bindings as bookmarks. Also, druids don't use metal, so the corners wouldn't fly, but it DOES keep the corners safe. oh, well.
Lol. Next time I will be sure to make them outta bone!
Naturally, a Druid worthy tome! All it needs is a vine for a ribbon/place holder 😁
Btw. You can use a heat gun to set some oven clays. I use it for my cosclay
This is funny. I just watched your video from 4 months ago and thought you would cover that book in leather... And here you are!
Cool cover.
I love this ! Thanks so much for sharing! Awesome turn out!
Great book, you should add the glass painted dragon eyes.
Loved the book project. Another little touch to consider would be aging the pages of the book, to match the aging you added to the cover.
This is the kind of project where a 3D printer would come in handy, you could print the the designs you made with clay out of a multitude of different materials and just glue those on. Then cover with the leather.
Awesome projects though, love the channel!
You seriously boosted my confidence in making my own books. You made it look so fun and easy!
It is really a fun project! I hope you do give it a shot!
might just make a ledger or two like this.
That is a great way to get a cool looking result, not to mention way easier than I would have expected. Thanks for sharing!
I've been binging the leather playlist non-stop, I've got a leatherworking kit coming in the mail and I cant wait to try these! he makes it look so approachable and fun!
So very cool, love the additional use of the book press.
Id love to see you how to make a backlit wooden lantern with the scenes.. btw ur amazing & true jack of all trades
As someone that makes books myself, you did very well on the construction of that book.
Beautiful work! I always get new ideas from your videos. Even if I never end up making a book cover, the idea to use Sculpey to create molds for wet-forming leather is a game changer. Thanks!
So, everything in this video is great, but I specifically wanted to say I love the music! I feel like it fits much better than your usual music and I really thought it gave a good fantastical feeling to the video. Amazing work as always!
I'm very much looking forward to seeing how you make the recurve bow. I'm in a struggling spot of trying to make a pair for my girlfriend and I, but it's not going too great
I am excited to give it a try! I have seen a couple of ways to do it now. Hopefully I am able to pull one off.
@@SkillTree I cannot wait to see!!
Bout time you finished the book. I have a book that is in need off a new cover and now I have a place to reference. In the words of your generation, it turned out so "DOPE"!! Still doesn't sound right coming from me. It was totally awesome dude.....ah that's better.
The book looks really good my dude, I haven't started on modern binding but I do stitch leather books as well. Keep up the interesting book creation, you're definitely giving me inspiration.
I hope you give it a shot! It turned out to be a super fun project😁
Started watching you yesterday and have been binging ever since. You are super talented and I love how excited you get when it works out. 👍
That acustic foam trick with the press is fantastic, I'll have to try it myself!
if you have a standard kitchen vacuum-bag sealer, it works really well for embossing leather over a positive mold. That how i made the pattern on my Assassins Creed Valhalla belt.
I was going to say the same thing as well. Such a cool book that he made and I am sure your's is awesome as well.
I also highly recommend the discord! Very friendly people and amazing talent as well. I feel like I'm the only one that posts seamstress work though lol
The book...amazing as I've come to expect from this channel. But!! What is the music?!?!
Thumbs Up Love Given!👍🏽
Woot woot! THANK YOU!
Really cool. Are you going to be making more covers for other books based on D&D characters?
What about a vacuum seal bag instead of the press and foam?
Could you use a vacuum sealer to get better detail on the leather when wet molding it?
It's a pretty badass book!
Looks great!!!!! How about sewing up some pants to go with the shirt you made?
That thing looks AWESOME!!
I love the epic music!
Try rubber floor matts next time instead if the acoustic foam and youll be even more impressed lol. Great video and beautiful work!
Once again you deliver! Awesome job bro! 🤟😁
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the build!
Do you think a vacuum press would work for the leather forming?
I have to say I think the book is badass, but I'd have to say I think it looked better without the moss.
If I may impose a challenge; do you think you can make a set of DnD dice out of Galalith? That's plastic made by heating up milk and adding vinegar.
(Granted that's just an oversimplification of it.)
The ideas are flowing! Why do I have to be at work right now!
Same reason as me, sadly. Need money for food and leather🤣
@@SkillTree tize the only reason I work lol.
That is the coolest book I've ever seen 😆
You forgot about the artificer
Very cool 😀
2nd time getting called out in Monkey Projects??? I am honored
You do the coolest things ever!!
Thank you so much!!!!
Nice!!!
Great job my guy looks beautiful 😍
Also best book to make in dnd is
Harry Potter and the nuclear fireball of death if you don't know what that is look it up
Congratulations, you made the necronomicon. Call a priest.
All jokes aside, it looks great! Well done!
SWEETNESS AND AWESOME-SAUCE!!!!
Why Thank you!
@@SkillTree to be honest I would have done something else with the Metal corner bits… like don’t get me wrong they look Sexy as hell for a book, however what I would have done is used Contact cement and that clay stuff to make Into Roots because if you remember Druids refuse to use any Metal for weapons, armour or jewelry.. lol so I’d doubt they use them on their tomes. However the choice isn’t up to me and I really like how that book looks my dude, I can’t wait for the next one
Or hell instead of Roots maybe leafs that would be pretty cool
awesome video love iy
Thanks!😁
👍👍👍👍
any more cover projects?
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Please do this for the Wizard Tome my king
Making our way there!
Dude I need you to do a rogue book I’m playing a rogue and I love it so I need a book to make for it
I am a Rogue too! My favorite class. I can't wait to make that one😁
@@SkillTree you are the reason I am broke 🤣😂🤣
Being awesome is an investment!
what are the odds of you making a book for the artificer?
Now I need a Nedforge and Skil Tree crossover
But why no Artificer?
Its a cool design but not a Druid look, maybe for the fiend folio. I would have went with the World tree and a few animals. but a demonesk skull and ribs are not my idea of something a Druid would have their tome bound in. Just MHO
When's the next book
First? Lol
First! Good job! 😁
Druids don't write shit down! Read a fucking book
I'd love to see what you could do with a Bard-Barian ... Especially the axe( 🎸) axe( 🪓) I envision them with lol
Here again to remind you that druids do not write things down.
