As for a job, UA-cam is a job dude. Try waking up to that fact.
In terms of 'no skills involved', I don't think you could be any more blind to how much precise work goes into this, despite being shown in the video.
Sure, this method of making books is old fashioned and no longer practiced to be printed in, but is certainly something that goes back centuries in crafting. Let people enjoy their lives. What they do with that shouldn't concern you.

Seeing as the leather carving went quite well, you could try a Norse inspired book cover for an unrelated bookbinding, using both runic inscriptions and the various carving styles of Norse art. Given the Viking raids, conquests and trade relations brought them far and wide, you can also easily incorporate elements of Celtic, Islamic and Christian art in there.

Once had an interview at a book binding facility. The hiring manager refused to hire me. Wanted to learn I asked why?
Needless to say they underestimated a gal...unfortunately.
It is a great artform. Folks who are vegan don't seem to grasp we want cruelty free treatment of animals yet, we all die the leather can be ethical it's a problem letting it go to waste to rot. They clearly have never smelled dead farm animals rotting in fields- I certainly have piles of wasted hides that can be useful in the right hands.
My perspective on all this. Treat the critters with respect while alive and their spirit after as well you'll find a beautiful story on the outside of the book and inside as well. Wouldn't mind seeing you do a dream catcher cover? Overall this was enjoyable- obviously over 2 yrs old video still, your cat is adorable. Nice job.

For some reason, I found it refreshing to watch you working comfortably on your couch (with the help of the cats). When I was a child, I did most of my making in our family/living room; with other family watching and helping as needed. This video brought me back to those days, and it was comforting to watch. I would happily bring my hobbies into my family room now, but I suppose a CNC Router, milling machine, and mig welder next to the couch would leave my wife thoroughly unamused.

Lapis Lazuli earth, air, fire, water, and spirit are common categorisations of magic types. Spirit would include schools of healing, protection, the sorts of things that are more inward/internal. Not an element per se, more the things outside of the elements. That’s my interpretation, though admittedly I do not practice any sort of magic or spirituality and my knowledge is mostly based on fantastical worlds and stories.

Love the book. I've used this channel a lot for help and techniques when making my own books. Just saying though... What you were using as an alcaline for the coffee was baking powder, not baking soda. There is a difference between the two, but they are both alcaline and will give the same result.
