    I've watched all the SS videos and yours has probably been more helpful than all the rest. Buddy Blues too. Your music sounds nice. I'll probably not use the onboard reverb as well. Thanks young brother.

    I love it because it's a different world.I usually play Marshalls.The Supersonic 22 is
    beautiful and mean burning too. Had zero issues and it's been over a decade.I've jinxed it now !!

      It's an underappreciated amp. Pretty versatile if you think about it.

    I absolutely love the Supersonic line. I almost bought the 22 combo last year. The gain is in a class of its own, every bit as great as a Marshall but much more usable for the sort of music I play, very warm, responsive and controllable. The clean tones are superb.

      Yeah I agree, the burn channel is so versatile too. I didnt even play the burn channel before i bought mine. The clean tone was so good, i didnt think id really use the burn channel much but its actually inspired me to play different things.

    I love mine!I have the same blonde head version.Great tones from both channels that can really change depending on the speakers and cabs used.
    I do not have the reverb circuit howling issues.BUT,the reverb is much weaker than on my other Fender tube amps.For what i play that is my only gripe with this amp.It is however the lush Fender reverb.Just will not get as strong as other Fender circuits.I just add a spring reverb pedal to boost the reverb if needed.Like for Country/Surf.It is NOT the same reverb circuit as in the Deluxe Reverb.It had to be designed a bit different because of the higher gain of this amp.For Rockers that don't use much or any spring reverb you will never notice.Through a 4X12 it is a beast of an amp.A loud 22 watts.

      I did notice the reverb being weak. That being said i wonder if it makes a diiference having the combo, having the reverb unit actually vibrating/resonating. Not sure if it makes a difference.

    Hey, thanks for this review. I’m considering the SS22 combo and it’s good to see a recent review and discussion of the reliability concerns. So many of the other reviews are from many years ago and it would seem that some of the issues have been resolved in more recent productions. How has the amp been holding up? Any issues with rattling noises from the tubes or the protective cage around the tubes? Any issues with a popping sound when using the footswitch to select channels? Reverb still okay? Thanks again and great playing!

      i just recently had to have some tubes swapped out. it developed a loud pop when switching to the fat channel, caused by a preamp tube. im told its extremely common because of the way the switching circuits are designed. i also started having a hiss issue. nothing crazy but i had a hiss that at louder volumes was insignificant but at lower volumes and for recording it was annoying. my amp tech swapped in some different preamp tubes and the problem was still there. through some research i found that ultimately the amp has too much gain for its own good,he swapped out a few tubes with 12ay7's instead of 12ax7's and the hiss was dramatically reduced. now its barely even noticable unless at high volume. mine is still under warranty and my amp tech did it all at no cost. also i did have a very slight rattle noise but it ended up just being a microphonic preamp tube. i havent had any issues with the reverb being noisy but i really dont use the onboard reverb much. i prefer the spring reverb from my big sky. Id still definitely recommend this amp, i think its important to understand that this is a very complex amp inside. the lead tones from the burn channel are amazing and the clean channel is to die for.

    Thank you for your video I am in the middle of deciding between a supersonic and a reverb and I'm leaning towards the supersonic because it's different everyone's got a deluxe reverb what's your thoughts on this
    Thanks David ☺️

    • @JordanAdameMusic
      @JordanAdameMusic  Рік тому +1

      In my opinion the supersonic is much more versatile. The clean channel from what im told is basically the same, the power section of the amp is the same. The real dealbreaker for me with the deluxe reverb is that theres no fx loop. So if youre running fx youre forced to run them all directly into the preamp of the amp, changing the sound. It really depends on what youre doing with it. There are some reliability and noise concerns with the supersonic. I have had mine fixed under warranty and modded slightly to get rid of some hiss, the supersonic has more gain than it really needs which is fine for most people but in my case, im recording with it and i need it to be silent and not have a higher noise floor. The other thing that puts the supersonic above the deluxe, is the amazing creaminess and buttery lead tones you can get all the way up to heavy distortion, all switchable from the footswitch. The clean tone in my opinion is unmatched from the supersonic. I wouldnt buy one used though. I got mine new and like i said i had to get it worked on within a few weeks. The tubes that fender uses these days arent the greatest. My amp tech swapped all the tubes out for the best ones on the market at no cost to me. Switched a few 12ax7s for 12ay7s i believe. Completely remedied to problem i had with hiss. Make sure if you get the supersonic that you have a good amp tech that can work on it because they are complicated and challenging to work on. Theyre both pretty much the same price i think. I mean its really personal taste. I prefer the supersonic. Its honestly changed my life as a guitarist and is an essential part of my tone. I have no need for any other amp with the style of music i play.

      Thank you for your reply Jordan and a very detailed one at that yeah there was one for sale it was a 60 and I think it dated back to 2006 it looked nice and clean but I don't know the history it could have been thrashed who knows yeah my plan is to buy a brand new one a blonde it will be strictly for home use on low volumes
      I like how you mentioned about the valves and the type you have put in the message if something goes wrong I can always aim for something like those tubes or whatever
      Yeah as I said it'll be only for home use it won't get cranked up too high so I probably won't even hear the hiss
      Thank you once again for your detailed information
      Thumbs up from Australia 🦘
      I forgot to say I will be getting a 22 combo

      Hi Jordan I just purchased my supersonic 22 as I said before I was humming and hiring over a tone master twin reverb and the supersonic I made my decision and I went for the supersonic and I feel so relieved so happy and also I'm going to get a couple of extra tubes just to keep them on hand I think you mentioned what sort of tubes you did put in yours I'm just wondering if you could let me know of what they are again thanks David 😊

      @@123elvislives as far as the brand i believe the ones my tech swapped in are sovteks, not 100 percent sure on that. I just know that they are very high quality. I think the majority of tubes are made by sovtek and just rebranded. If youre concerned with the noisefloor, there are some tubes 12ax7s that can be swapped for 12ay7s this lowers the amount of gain but the character of the amp only changes a little. In my opinion for the better. Play yours for a while and see how it goes. Also a sign of a bad tube can manifest as a loud pop when you switch channels and stuff with the footswitch. I think youll be happy with the supersonic. The tonemasters are good as well but they feel a little sterile. For a modeller though i would go that route. Im not a fan of modellers though. Let me know how you like the amp. And if you have any questions or comments let me know

      Just asking also how many tubes would I need to do a swap is it 5 or 6 or 4

    Quick question: What will happen if you put a tuner with function of muting signal in the amp's effects loop and turn it on? Will it cut all the signal?
    I'm just womdering, what kind of effects loop is in that amp :)

      @@JordanAdameMusic Thanks! To be honest, did not expect an answer :)
      Almost every demo of this amplifier I came across contains a burn channel with both gains turned up over 5. Personally, I am curious if it is possible to get some sort of a low gain crunch/lead on the burn channel of this amplifier, using a guitar with humbuckers. Did you have the opportunity to test the amplifier in such a configuration? LP + burn channel with both gain stages set below 5?

    • @JordanAdameMusic
      @JordanAdameMusic  8 місяців тому

      @@michagrabowski6753 I have not, I can get edge of breakup tones out of it but I think the tubes make everything sound sort of "creamy". Personally If I was going for that I think a good OD pedal blues breaker or klon etc would get you there better. I love the OD this amp makes the best way I can describe it is like that Carlos Santana tone. Although I think you could get there with the burn channel cranked but just rolling back the volume on your guitar, treble bleed would be necessary I think though to avoid rolling off your high end.
