I love seeing your dad out there watching you do your thing. That to me is some good quality time. Also keep up the lantern videos I really enjoy watching a Coleman lantern come back to life.
One of my best lanterns was 5$ from a flea market. Idk if some kid packed the fount with dirt. It was pretty rusty. I was really getting it for parts. But then I didn’t have a 220H in my collection so I decided to fix it. I bet I filled and emptied the fount 100 times before it was finally clean.
You can test the lantern without using a mantle. First I check the air tube then fill 'er up, pump 'er up and light. A big blue flame should appear at each burner tube. That's how I do it. I never waste a mantle unless I know the lantern will burn properly. Cheers from eastern Tennessee
Great job, we don’t get many Coleman’s here in Ireland mainly Tilley and veritas. I love the old ones with a bit of character. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy.
As far as getting the wrong lanterns...I bought a lot of 4 of them back in December with the intent on rebuilding some and using the others for parts. When the box arrived I was shocked to find 5 of them, all in way better condition than what I was expecting. I checked the listing and these were all different than shown. Listing was for $39.99 and shipping was $30...Canadian. I contacted the seller expecting them to ask me to send them back and instead the appologised for the trouble and promptly refunded the whoile thing. I told them that was not necessary and they told me to enjoy them. Not only were there more than I had hoped 2 were models I did not yet have. So yeah...this worked out REALLY well for me.

You got your money's worth out of this purchase , I find eBay scary to order from . It really a chance weather you get what you ordered or not .
Bought a working Coleman for bucks a year or back..
