  • Buying a motorcycle is just the start, but an important part of having a bike is customizing it and adding upgrades to truly make it your own. In this episode of Motorcycle.com's New Rider series, Road Test Editor Troy Siahaan shows beginners Rosslyn and Kevin how accessories can really personalize a motorcycle.

I really liked this series. I think it could possibly have been a bit longer and had more detail, but it's nice to see the enthusiasm that Rosslyn and Kevin have. The MT-03 is also a brilliant starter bike. For add-ons, I think frame sliders and crash pads are possibly the most important things. I think everybody who rides knows that they will drop their bike at some point, mostly while just moving it around the parking space. Crash pads and sliders make all the nice plastic stay nice. Would it be possible to do a follow up on our two new riders in say 6 months?

This was a weirdly awkward Yamaha commercial. Oddly scripted “I’m glad you asked that Kevin 😉” “ohh, ahh, really”
Not one of the better productions.
Although, useful for signposting important elements for new riders.

I don’t believe those are “new riders”. I believe the are actors hired via a talent agency. I may be wrong; however, there is something about the interactions which led me to believe this. Therefore it’s very unlikely that we will see any follow-up. Additionally, there is almost 0% chance that either of them will be riding the Yamaha featured and even less chances that they’ll be doing it together.

I think there should be 6 months/year later episode aka "what I learned". I mean nobody who comes to bikes really knows what he/she really likes or what gear really needs. These thing tend to iron out quite quickly.
