I think the real tea was that Jessica and Sarah already spoke about ppl asking them this question, and probably how much they hate it. Jessica Lang is a legend. Why on earth would Gaga being casted be of any significance to her, especially to stay with the show? The privilege lies with being able to act alongside Jessica and Sarah, not the other way around (it's no shade). Sarah was arguably the hottest ticket actress at that time. She was (and has been) booked for EVERYTHING. Why would people ask them that question? It comes off very rude given their contribution to acting individually let alone with AHS as a whole.

I feel like the countess was lacking another layer of dimension to make her a well developed character. She has a lot of pain in the past but she’s not written in a way that makes the character a villain.
Considering the fact that this was Gaga’s first leading role, she did great, but she can’t be compared to someone who’s had a long history of peeling off layers of a character.
