- Building A Long Term Shelter In The Woods - building the door, round window, and the front wall of the shelter - enjoying time in the woods. Using my new Gomboy 300 - 10 Silky saw. I would like to thank the team from cutite-bushcraft.ro for the Silky saw and the other gifts they sent me. It is a very useful saw that was recommended to me by several of my viewers. What can I say , your awesome . Not only do you add an artistic element to bushcraft ,, you know how to correctly use a Silky saw. Very impressive . So many do not know it cuts on the pull stroke . Yes, your Shelter is taking shape nicely 👍😊. The 'roundness and curves' add a welcoming 'softness' to the Structure. 'Synthetics' in some instances have their place .. especially if one is looking for Longevity and perhaps additional Strength. Our Forefathers used then, the most technically up-to-date materials that they had at their disposal. We should not be shamed to do the same. I'm certain that in our position .. in modern times, they would follow suit.
Hmmm .. -7°C is somewhat cool .. and that wind sounds like it could 'bite' ❄. Strange how one often associates, as a given, Cold Weather with accompanying Snow.
Congrats on the Silky Saw .. very good Saws they are .. and it's good to see it being used correctly as a 'Pull Saw'. I believe that Japanese Wood Craftsmen are particularly fond of using Pull Saws as opposed to those that cut on the forward push (inter alia, gives a more accurate directional cut and less chance of bending or breaking the blade).
The Guest House .. looking back, one often realises that the difficult times .. hardship suffered and pain, were put to us for a purpose in that, without them, the Happy Joyous Moments experienced later would not have materialised .. and even more, be less appreciated.
Yes .. we should always be mindful that It's the Nature of the Person living in a House that makes it a Home.

Very nice video. I never know what to expect and you do your building with what you have at hand. The natural juke twine is great too. No environmental impact at all and you can use it as a fire starter in a pinch. I may not watch immediately after you post but, I ALWAYS get caught up with your videos. I'm intrigued to see how this project progresses. I love the details, especially the woven saplings coupled with the window and door design. I see this delightful looking structure and picture it to be that of fair tale cottage, belonging of a pagan wood nymph who lives in harmony with the earth, one with the spirit of nature.
