  • This engine I purchased second hand, but it appeared to be new, never run. I did some break-in running and got about 1 1/4 hours on it today.
I used a Master Airscrew 8x4 prop, fuel mix of 75% methanol and 25% castor oil, glow plug is unknown as it came with the engine but it looks like an O.S. product.
The engine is plumbed with the exhaust blow-by going back to the cylinder head to lubricate the rotary valve gears and also to the fuel tank to pressurize it. As the fuel is consumed the blow-by oil increases the percentage of oil in the mix.
The engine would not run with the glow plug heat turned off, until about 20 or 30 minutes had elapsed. Then it would continue to run but lose RPM. As more time was put on the engine it just got better running.
Peak RPM started out at 9K but ended up at 11K after more than an hour of running.
The engine exhaust noise is very minimal, even at wide open throttle their is more noise from the prop than the exhaust.
It is a sweet little jewel of an engine!

It needs min 10% Nitro an a very Hot Plug. U can use an OS F Plug. But u must mount it with two washers to make sure it doesnt contact the rotary Valve. Also the Master Airsrew is too light, APC would run better, i use a 9x5 or 6 on my engine. But its normal that this engine has a bad Idle.
