This is the first video I've recorded with my FIRST guitar. I received this guitar for Christmas when I was 11 years old and it was my only guitar for about 12 years. The first songs I ever wrote were written on this guitar. I went to Catholic school growing up and played many masses with this guitar alongside my friend, Dani (who's been a guest performer in many of my videos). While I've left Catholicism far behind me, I've held onto my beloved guitar. It was in a state of disrepair and unplayable for many years, sitting in its ripped up old case in my closet. Recently, I decided to pull it out and take it to get repaired. The tuners and all of the associated hardware were replaced and the (very dirty) fretboard was cleaned up. I even got a pretty new case for her (I couldn't bear to put her back into that ripped up old thing). I was so happy when I got this guitar back, I almost cried. I'm not a materialistic person - in fact, over the years I've become more minimalist in my lifestyle - but there are some possessions that I feel a sentimental attachment to and this is one of them.
I hope you like my cover of this old Pink Floyd classic from The Wall. I was obsessed with The Wall when it first came out and listened to it on repeat. I've been playing this song since I was very young, so to play this old song again on my old guitar was a double dose of nostalgia!

Beautiful and love the setting 😊❤
Thank you, Katerina ❤
Who else gets to have a chorus of geese and ducks adding background vocals to a classic Pink Floyd song?
Vesper of course! beautiful setting and wonderful acoustic rendition of this great Pink Floyd song.
Thank you, and thank you for sharing this perfect outdoor setting with us.
Thank you, Richard! I love when I get some nature sounds in my videos, although recording outside does have some other audio challenges (people, airplanes, leaf blowers). Glad you enjoyed it and thanks so much for your nice comment :)
Another excellent song as well as another magnificent interpretation, I liked it a lot, congratulations and thanks for sharing your music and talent. Greetings from Madrid and see you soon, like 25
Thanks, Jose! :)

Very well played, my new friend ❤ I love the setting, including it’s ambient sounds that add to your beautiful guitar playing of this Pink Floyd favorite 💕🙋🏻♂️✨
Thanks so much Aryay! I'm glad you liked it and I was happy the geese joined in 🙂
Wow!! One of my absolute favs and your version is wonderful my friend! So nice!!! Hugs, Jimmy
Thank you, Jimmy! So happy you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind comment, as always ❤
Perfect for that classical guitar. Great job. And a perfect day outside for it, too! (Will gladly take t-shirt weather in April.)
Thanks, Jay. I think Gilmour used a classical guitar on the original recording. Glad you enjoyed it and the beautiful weather today!
Very cool..I love playing this it's so chill sounding...gotta love Gilmore...The goose at the end is very Pink Floyd as well...
Gilmour is my favorite! And I agree with you about the geese, LOL. Thanks for your comment :)
... just listen again and I LOVE it my dear friend. You inspired me to record a fingerstyle version one day. Hugs, Jimmy
Aw you're so sweet, Jimmy. Thank you. I'd love to hear you play it. It would be a breeze for you.
I just love❤ it! ;0)
Thank you! 🙂
So Wonderful and beautifully played Vesper. Love the sound of your Nylon Strings. Great back story. I recently fixed up an old Ibanez that was the first new Guitar I bought new when I graduated high school in 1988. Needed some TLC but that's what I use for my electric recording. My Acoustic I bought new in 2003 and it's the only one I play for Acoustic recordings as I feel attached to it and would feel like I'm cheating on it if I played another, lol, but true. One Electric, One Acoustic and One Bass is all I need. I thourghly enjoyed your performance, top notch!
We're of a like mind, Darren! I don't need 100 guitars. Just one good guitar of each main type, LOL. Isn't it funny how we get attached to them like they are people? Thanks for your kind comment, as always :)
I remember learning that from you in 7th or 8th grade! Remember when you got the little kids to sing "Another Brick In the Wall" in the library at St Bridget's? Fun times, and instilled in me a love for Pink Floyd that I have till this day. Thanks for that, Vesper!! (Repsev)
Oh yes, I remember those things very clearly! I got booted as the "choir director" after our music teacher heard a chorus of children singing "we don't need no education", LOL!
Is there anybody out there? Yes! Vesper on Nylon Strings, Sounds Sweet! Hi just moved in a few days ago. Guitar Sounds 👌🎸👌🎸👌🎸👌🎸
Hey Ray - your comment made me smile! :) Thank you and hope your move went well!
@@Vesper_Songs Thank you, your playing makea me smile. 🌝🎸🎸🎸👌👌👌🎶🎶🎶
Beautifully done! I play this alot as a fingerstyle warm-up. David Gilmour is one of my favorite guitarists/songwriters.
Thank you! I love David Gilmour too. One of my favorites!
@@Vesper_Songs I found your channel looking for reviews of 12 strings. Your Ovation 12 video came up and then I started checking out your music. We have similar influences in Zeppelin and classic rock/singer songwriters, but I also do Prog and “old school” metal (Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, etc.). Anyway, great playing!
Thank you and do happy you found me! I like some prog too, although I don't play it (Yes, Rush, Floyd, Steven Wilson...)
Encore une interprétation jouée avec la délicatesse qui vous caractérise. Bravo
Merci beaucoup, Lauren! 🙂
Great cover!🎶✨
Thank you 🙂
Cool
This sounded terrific on your nylon string guitar. And the story surrounding the guitar makes it even better. I actually learned this using a pick but have to admit that it sounds better finger picked. I love everything about The Wall but especially the acoustic based songs. Thanks for the back story. I thought maybe that you were playing in front of a backdrop but when I saw the water moving realized that you were actually outside. ‘Keep ‘em coming!
Thank you so much. I always love your comments and I am glad you enjoyed it. That's funny you thought it was a backdrop. If you listen, you can hear geese making a racket behind me, LOL.
👏👏👏
The ducks have never sounded more delicious. (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
Oh no....no duck for dinner! LOL.
