      That's about the price of a new V6 Rubicon. They charge $100k for them new so 40% off sticker is significant. Whether it's worth it or not is the question. Personally, the 392s are having issues, so I'd skip it.

      You are looking at a niche luxury vehicle, you can't really compare it to a Honda civic, if you considering this vehicle for purchase, you make more than minimum wage, so in that sense its "cheap" for what it is.

    I've owned 8 Wranglers. Been a fan since '01. I purchased a 392 in Feb. It was the most expensive, & the first Jeep to leave me stranded on the side of the road, as a bonus. After 6k+ of parts & a month waiting, the technocrap that went out finally got fixed. Were talking melted fuses & ruined inserts, destroyed my Power distribution box. Luckily it was covered on my warranty. Traded it on a '22 Manual 6 Toyota Taco pro with a v-6. It should run 300-400k miles with proper maintenance & retain its value much longer than a Jeep only capable of going 120k miles before those oilers fail on the head of the 392. Fun Jeep though..

      Watch those inaccessible plastic crossover pipes in the rear of the engine. Transmission needs to be dropped in order to replace them. They have seals and they leak. It almost seems manufacturers are designing-in stuff like that. Planned obsolescence?

    Well my Jeep is a 2003 TJ wrangler with 215,000 miles on it. It has the 4.0 inline 6 cylinder cast iron motor. I’ve owned it for 11years oh did I mention the it has a millennial anti theft device called a 5 speed manual transmission. All I have ever owned was the old jeeps since I was a teenager back in the early 70’s. I bought my Jeep for $8,000. I wouldn’t call anything that has been produced since 2009 a real jeep.

    While I agree in today’s market with the numerous price increases it makes a lot more sense to buy lightly used. While wouldn’t say this is cheap given the year and the miles it holds well for current owners. People forget Jeep keeps increasing the price on these. The 21 392 started at 75k so this vehicle only lost around 16k in 3-4 years. That’s ridiculously good retention value for those miles.

    • @vdub5818
      @vdub5818 2 місяці тому

      Technically this one would be considered a triple locker because it has the full time transfer case, clutch pack based, with 4 auto. If at any point one wanted to "lock" the center differential/tcase while in 4 auto, all one would need to do is shift to 4 high.
      Jeeps with the standard part time transfer case could also be considered locked simply because if we go into any 4wd mode power is split 50/50 front and rear.

    Saw to Jeeps towing stuff which is most definitely the market for these amazing machines and something Jeep needs to emphasize needed to emphasize when they started to *"go here"* with crazy expensive Italian Offerings that don't seem to work or certainly no one would expect to work in living a Jeep Lifestyle boondocking so having a serious effort at boondocking Jeep would be quite a surprise but more of a surprise was people towing with a Jeep which still is what this is now for as an actual practical item. Glad to see the V8 is back. Already hearing of problems with the Dodge V6 twin turbo and definitely don't want another Toyota so that was a great step in avoiding that. Long $mmm 3m as gaskets, seals, tapes, adhesives all of that suddenly understood to matter on these crazy complex machines that still need to push out all of this horsepower and torque to a reliable powertrain that also has its version as a powertrain of *"horsepower and torque"* yes absolutely spot on to point that out here.😮😮😮😮😊😊😊

    Im in the market for something to pull behind my RV in my retirement. We love exploring the back country. So, my options are limited. And to make it worse. Im a toyota fan boy. And they are out of the running. They are not set up to be flat towed. It looks like im getting a Bronco or a Jeep? Im holding out a bit. The Bronco looks more comfortable. But i have a feeling Jeeps prices are going to drop. They look like they are about to go bankrupt or get sold. They don't look to healthy financially. I guess i will wait and see.

    I’d like to know where that is because here in Oregon they’re still marked up 10-20 grand or anything else. And a curiosity I just checked their website. They want 58K plus for that Jeep that’s almost 20 K above a comparable gladiator rubicon here in Oregon.

    If they are of the same quality as any other vehicle on the road, why do people feel the need to talk so poorly of their build quality/reliability? Jealousy? Why do you suppose Toyota’s reputation for build quality/reliability is touted so much?

    The truth is more and more people are realizing that todays manufacturers are building problematic vehicles and pricing them ridiculously out of reach for most of us. More of us are actually enjoying rebuilding our older more reliable vehicles or actually shopping for restored classics. It would not bother me to see all these manufacturers tank into bankruptcy but of course the govt would use our money to bail them out so they could build more overpriced crap. Why? Bed partners!
