I just got back from Vegas where I stayed at the Circus Circus. I was alone and I felt safe. My room was absolutely spotless. Of course seeing the Sphere from my window made it all more enjoyable! I enjoyed the children's section and thought of my grandchild being here would love it!
I love staying at Circus and so do my 2 sisters. I have never had a bad room. Yea it's not fancy but it's nice, clean and comfortable and that's all I'm looking for so I can spend my money on other things. And I like the atmosphere of the hotel. If you are looking for a more fancy room you will get a fancy price. My room has never been as dirty as you have.
Can't imagine what your house looks like if that's your equivalent to nice and clean 🤢🤢🤢

In September 2022 the N. Y state attorneys office filed a lawsuit regarding the Trump property, to include Trump's associations with Phil Ruffin
After the plans of including a second tower to the Trump - Ruffin property went bankrupt as a condominium development. With further suspicions, of financial fraud !
I'm thankful I was able to experience this property many times during its glory days. It was 35/40 years ago, but it was great.
Would have loved to have seen it back then. What it is now, unfortunately is probably beyond repair. Thanks for watching!

This was the most entertaining and accurate review I’ve ever come across! I haven’t stayed at CC since my college days, but after recently visiting the dusty arcade and yes the creepy lobby, it was enough for me. I laughed so hard at this review I had tears!
This was one of the funniest videos you’ve done… I was cracking up at your commentary! I know people sometimes give you a hard time about vids without Ashden, but I think you’re really coming into your own on the solo content. Another great and informative video. I really enjoy your content and your videos are of great value to people wanting to know more about Las Vegas. Too bad that Circus Circus is in such bad shape. I have never stayed at the property but did bring my children to the Midway and Rides section of the property many years ago. Obviously the property has fallen into disrepair. Thank you for your warnings about this property.
I have a running joke with friends "circus circus is awful awful". But on a serious note, I already have questions of ones parenting if they're bringing their kids to Vegas and ESPECIALLY if they go to circus circus. If you MUST bring your kids to Vegas, go stay somewhere else, not even on strip, and hit the midway on your own time. The last time anyone should have seen this place was "diamonds are forever" in the mid 70s
I agree Circus Circus’ rooms are in serious need of refreshing/refurbishing. Hopefully Ruffin will sink some money into the place to spiff things up. I’ve stayed there three times over the years from the original tower to the motel area out back and the tower that was added in the 90s. I have some fond memories from staying there. No, it’s not fancy; i liken the rooms to a Motel 6. Inexpensive most of the time, the biggest drawback was how remote it was from the busy areas on the Strip once places like Stardust and Riviera were torn down. With Resorts World and (very soon) Fontainebleau nearby, things might perk up for one of the last original resorts on the Strip.
Oddly, when it was owned by MGM it was the most profitable property they owned. Which might be because they rarely spent any money on it.

My friend had to stay here for her child's sports tournament a few years ago. At check in the person in front of her didn't have luggage - they had a laundry basket for their things. I understand there's a right hotel for everyone...I'd never judge anyone for their choices...but putting out a video like this is absolutely right for people that are still choosing. Well done!

Glad it didn’t cost you anything but Time. The last time I went to Circus Circus was in the 90s and it was disgusting then it had a vibe of not safe which is surprising since it’s a draw for families I could tolerate worn out but not dirty rooms. Thanks so much.

The only redeeming quality Circus Circus has (to me), is that I have never lost money there. Been to their casino probably 2 dozen different times, and every single time, I've walked away with more money than I arrived with. That aside, spot on review. The entire place smells like smoke, and not in a nostalgic faint whiff of cherry cigar kind of way either. I'm honestly surprised it's still allowed to remain open. I've never felt "unsafe" there, but I also avoid going there at night or early mornings.
As someone who stayed at Circus Circus as a kid back in 2008, it seems to me based on this video it has gotten much worse (and it was very bad when I stayed there back then). The only hotel worse in Vegas than Circus Circus is OYO which is truly awful & takes the awfulness of Circus Circus & doubles it. I agree with Jordan that you can do much better on a budget with the LINQ, Casino Royale (basically Best Western) Elis Island & pretty much every hotel on Fremont Street all being significantly better than both Circus Circus & OYO.
I stayed there as a kid around that time too and it was roach infested and gross I do remember. Fun show but nasty place.
I started going to Circus in 1987 and fell in love with it. 69 cent breakfast buffet, 1.29 dinner buffet. One dollar blackjack, free circus acts and a super staff...what happened to take a great place and turn it into a piss poor bacteria filled entire building?
To really describe what happened to circus circus and why it’s so jacked-back, you would be called a racist. So I will refrain from explaining🤡🆘

loved the commentary lol! Yeah, when me and my wife went to Vegas in 2021, we met up with some friends at Peppermill, and we stopped by Circus Circus. Right away, my wife was saying how creepy it felt in there (and especially compared to the other hotels we walked through that week) and how dingy and dimly lit it was in there. We were so glad to get back to the Flamingo after that!
I told her about the new Spongebob attraction there and asked if she would like to see it when we come to Vegas next month. She was like "eh maybe" (which is her nice way of saying no lol).

I Go there once a month and have not had an inkling of a bad experience so keep on bashing it. It keeps the crowds down and I can continue to enjoy $19 rooms, free parking nice empty pool and gym
Circus Circus is simply nostalgia to me. Seeing it brings me back to simpler, happier times in the mid 80s. I was 10 and my parents would walk me and my sister to the ramp or escalator that leads us up to the midway because kids were not allowed to walk near the slots unattended. We would have a $20 that we would exchange into 2 $10 rolls of quarters that would last us all day. My sister would play the midway games, Fascination was her game of choice to win silly stuffed animals. I would play arcade games, usually Dragon's Lair, Tron, Congo Bongo, Mario Bros, among others. I wish we could go back to these glory days, even for one day, and thank my dad for taking up there every summer. God, I miss my dad.
Surprised they would give you a full refund but not offer you to switch room. Where did you go after then ? Your favorite Aria ?
They offered to let me see another room, and I declined. I just wanted to get the heck out of there!
I stayed 1 night at the Westgate and it’s also bad. Their was a hair in the bedroom , I had no water and the toilet was 🤮. I complained got another room and In that room the airco was soo load. The WiFi didn’t work.. also a hotel to forget ASAP.. and I also at a paper of a take away menu under my door.. so avoid the Westgate too people
In 2019 we stayed at Hilton Grand Vacations next-door, and went to Circus Circus to go to the steakhouse. It smelled so bad of smoke inside of Circus Circus I could hardly breathe. The only good part about that hotel is their steakhouse, but I will never go back there. It’s too seedy. Thanks Jordan for taking the hit for us and showing us this lovely hotel!🤡

I got the same pizza ad slipped under my door when I stayed at 4 queens last month.
Never stayed there but have walked around. The thing that freaked me slightly was the sharps bins fixed to the wall in the toilets…
Yeah; we live here and we keep hearing from some people to try the steakhouse there.
We drove over there on a weekday at 5pm. Pulled into the valet, discovered there is never any valet. Looked around at the type of people hanging out.
Drove away.
I now wonder about those people's taste buds.
We also hear good things about the steakhouse but the clientele of the hotel keeps us from venturing inside. A shame, but it is what it is! Thanks for watching!

This is like the travel lodge they tore down on the other end of the strip. But it was cheap and had a good location.
Meanwhile down the strip at the link a guy is screaming at the linq check in counter. He walked into the room for the first time. Found 4 guys smoking weed inside. And they got angry at him. The management didn't care.
I went there for New Years Eve with my family (almost all hotels near strip were booked or were overpriced). Please don't come here for New Years, it is not worth it. My god was it atrocious and, look, I'm not going to fault the hotel here but there was a long line for the elevator. I literally was standing in line for an hour after the countdown so that we could get to our rooms. My bed cover had stains of you know what on it and it looked fresh. Someone came in to clear it out, the blow dryer would not fit into the wall and the TV remote control was sticky with some kind of oil. It was gross but very affordable especially near the strip and on New Years. Still not worth it. As an Angelino, it reminds me of the Cecil hotel and I wouldn't be surprised if there is a history of murder based on the hallways.
Strangely, I think that Treasure Island has the same owner and when I stayed at TI recently my room was spotless and modern and the service was excellent. Circus Circus was my first casino that I entered with my dad in the 70's. I would love to go back there for those memories but the place is SO unappealing. Great, honest work here SMV!
Circus Circus is nearly twice as old and really isn’t a viable building anymore. Ruffin is probably gonna ride it into the ground and then sell it for the land value one day.
@@ShowMeVegas He has put over $6M into it in the last couple years. You left all the recent updates to the casino and food court out.
@@Andrew-un8tx because that’s a drop in the bucket compared to what this place needs. At this point in time the property is still a dump. If he’s willing to invest what it actually needs (which is at minimum $250-$300 million) it might be viable in the long run, but even that won’t fix its reputation.
@Vegas viable in the long run? It's a gold mine. A very profitable property.
The reputation is amongst people who have no business staying there anyway, really. It's become hip and cool to hate on but it fills a niche and does it smashingly. The place is looking way better than it did 5 years ago and continually improving. Ruffin has plans to refurbish every room. But that takes a lot of time, not just money.
It's a low budget place. If someone goes there with anything but low budget expectations that's just being silly.
@@Andrew-un8tx yes, it’s profitable now, which is exactly why Ruffin can’t sink a bunch of money into it. It’s profitable because there is so much deferred maintenance and virtually zero service or housekeeping. Renovating every room is going to cost a mint. If he puts half a billion dollars into it he has to raise the rates. If he raises the rates it’s going to flounder because nobody with the means to stay elsewhere is going to choose Circus Circus. Classic catch-22.
It’s quite profitable now, but the place is literally falling apart and the gravy train isn’t going to last forever. If I owned it I sure wouldn’t risk hundreds of millions of dollars hoping to change its reputation. I’d squeeze every last nickel out of it and sell it for the land value in about 20 years…

In my honest opinion, you should NOT go to Las Vegas, if you are cheap! You will not have a good time because you will be worried about the cost of everything.
Absolutely, if the only option for you financially is circus circus, you have no business being in vegas
All depends on what you class as cheap I once booked the Luxor hotel for around £350 for a week and didn’t speak too much money whilst in vegas and had a great time I’ve also spent thousands staying in higher end hotels in the strip
Spending a lot of money isn’t fun either knowing your getting ripped off fir everything in that money pit Vegas
@@wesleybuckles6904 I understand what you are, and nobody wants to be ripped off. However, Las Vegas is expensive due to the high demand of visitors. The cost of hotel stays, food, beverages, entertainment, etc is the result of the high volume of visitors coming to Las Vegas nd spending money. The higher the demand, the higher the cost!
I have been to Vegas the past two years with a strict budget and I had a blast both times, you don’t need to spent a bunch of money to feel good buddy
you have to have rocks in your head to not stay at circus, free parking, with even a giant parking lot in the back, other strip hotels cost 10 times as much and you can't even breathe with the second hand smoke in encore lol, and you can take a quick bus ride down the strip or even walk to westgate or across the street too, circus is such an iconic cool place, oh, and there is mcdonalds next to it on the way to resorts world a block down the strip, and i think the rooms are ok for sleeping
I did some filming in the asventurdome. Great management. Friendly and took care of us. The place is tired and so dirty. Only thing worth going to is the Adventuredome.
thanks for the video! ya know, i love the older properties in vegas. aint many left now. we go to vegas every summmer. we normally stay at either venitian or treasure island. then we discovered the sahara since its second nice renovation, we stay there now. (we hated sls). the times we stayed at treasure island its not run down, its quite nice and clean .. so i wonder why phil ruffin isnt fixing these problems at circus circus now that he owns it? circus circus is a fun place to visit!! great shows too.. and theyre free!!!!!cheers
Circus Circus needs HUNDREDS of millions of dollars in order to be fixed. It probably is beyond repair. I think Ruffin realizes that, so he's going to ride it into the ground and hope to sell the land if and when the north strip is back. Thanks for watching!
hopefully they at least renovate for now i know hes been doing the public areas this past year. the dirty hotel is because house keeping doesnt give a rats ass about their jobs! they should do something about the crappy job these maids are doing there!! clean rooms isnt that big of a request. i rather not see another demolition in vegas since itll just be a vacant lot for many years to come and vegas has plenty of them that were supposed to be built on and then it didnt happen... cheers

The only good thing at Circus Circus is the steakhouse. They always talk about the hotel being on death watch, but it continues to be there.
Definitely not on death watch, Believe it or not Circus Circus is very profitable.
The Steakhouse sucks too, it was good 10-15+ years ago but not anymore.

40 years ago we stayed there with our young teenage daughters. We were totally comfortable to let them roam the Arcade Area as were many other parents....fast forward to 2022 and my Wife and I stopped there to check it out...the smell, the creepiness and the multitudes of "sketchy" people everywhere chased us out of there quite quickly...😂
Yeah. Went to Circus Circus with my friends in 2021. It was sad how things went downhill for this hotel. Everything you said is what I’ve experienced at that time. Only difference is worst. The Elevators were not working, and so we had to drag our butts to the stairs while we were taking from the higher floors (can’t remember what floor we were on). And yeah, it was a pain to do it just to arrive on a lobby or to get out of the hotel. It’ll be my last time to come to this hotel. Only reason if I really wanted to are the roller coaster rides, but I’d personally take the Stratosphere rides or New York New York roller coaster better. So long, Circus Circus.

Been to circus circus for amusement park n buffet which is ok for my family.never have stayed at hotel resort,been offered to stay with rewards n other perks in past trips..maybe next vacation...or not
Tip; do a review on the Tuscany. It used to be one of the best values. And it's a short cab ride to the strip. Like $10 with tip.

I’m coming in April for Sick New World, which is right by Circus Circus at the festival grounds. Some people are opting to stay there because of the proximity to the event. I opted for Harrah’s, because while I value budget-friendly options, I also value quality and safety. I’ve heard the legends about Circus Circus, and I’d never touch it with a 10-foot pole. Glad they at least gave you a refund on your room. I have no idea why anyone would bring their kids there. It’s not even a great part of town. I saw that you have to go through some alley to get to the pool. 🤨😑
I visited Circus Circus only once as my wife wanted to see the Adventure Dome. The whole place absolutely stank of what smoke and other odours, the floor was sticky in several places and it really felt like a complete dive only the desperate would stay at.
A friend and I stayed there in 2021. Although he was murdered there while we were eating lunch, we for the most part had a good time and Circus Circus picked up the meal.
I stayed there in 2015. It was ok not brilliant but also not bad. Value for money at the time 😊

Maybe the rooms are gonna get renovation next, since the casino and food court has been upgraded a little. I believe you see the warning on the doors because a lot of families with kids stay there and will prop doors open in hotels, I see it all the time.
These rooms are beyond repair. The only way to fix them would be to gut the entire tower. Too expensive. Thanks for watching!

It was CREEPY. The end of the hall where my room was located was really quiet. I'm sure they stopped and listened to me talking to the camera, and they stayed outside the door for the entire time I was staring to my left...
@ShowMeVegas oh sheesh. I was in a hostel in New York years ago and there were all kinds of randos wandering the halls. Needless to say, I kept the door locked and showered in my clothes in the communal bathroom.
I still have nightmares where I wake up thinking I'm there. Hopefully you don't have the same issues.

As a matter of fact, I did wind up across the street at Encore. Had a decent gaming offer and it was only a Thursday night.
This is why I invest on timeshare 😅. I’ve learned my lesson about independent hotel/motel. You wouldn’t have that problem in reputable hotels. You get what you pay for. Not you specifically.
Took an uber there one time 2 years ago. Walked in made a loop around the place and walked right back out to the taxi stand. I think alot of the foot traffic was coming from the fenced off Super 8 next door. Appeared to be homeless people sitting in the hallway next to the mini mart right where you walk in. The rooms look as bad as the lobby did. Gross.
I've gotten those pizza menus when I stayed at Excalibur four years ago. Those menus are made and placed by scammers looking to steal your credit card info.

@ShowMeVegas You're welcome! Since I live just a short drive from Orlando, FL, I notice these fraudulent menus are more prevalent out there. But anywhere you go, you have to be cautious of your surroundings and anything you may see that sounds too good to be true. For previous trips to Vegas, I've stayed at properties that have an employee monitoring who goes in the elevator (some places are better at that than others), and I haven't had to deal with that crap.
We stayed at Circus Circus in Reno about 20years ago. That wasn’t bad at all. Do a video on that hotel.

Howdy Sir ! In my opinion Circus 🤡 Circus 🤡 is the worst casino hotel on the strip. It’s completely disgusting. It does not need a remodel it needs a demolition crew . I suggest getting a tetanus shot before entering lol. You couldn’t pay me to stay there …rather sleep in my car . Your a brave man taking one for the team to make this video 😎😎😎

Well .. I have stayed at Circus Circus in 2011, 2016 and 2022. It *is* "on the strip," so *great* access to South Las Vegas Boulevard, and the interstates. In 2022, they now have electronic roulette. I think the dinner buffet is closed one or two days a week? Palace Station, just NNW has a Wing Stop in their food court; FYI. Just North of PS is a Pizza Hut with take out. I have never eaten in the CC Steakhouse, as the prices are $$$. I go to Vegas to "do stuff." *To me* - it is a bed to crash on, and store my clothes / shower in the AM. The price is right / cheap.

2 years ago went here to check it out. Did not feel safe one bit there. Lots of shady ppl hang out there. I curious and found an article of old Asian couple that got followed to their room stabbed and robbed.
Won $400 on a slot and had a big shady guy follow and making eye contact with me the rest of the time there. Didnt see one security guard anywhere.
We hated CC 30 Plus years ago! I can't think of a time when it was nice.....Sadly....Always been a Shi&hole!!! Great video!!!

Truthfully, this is not a surprise. Circus Circus has been a dump for a long time. In the 1980s, the place was disgusting and back then, it was already a twenty-year old hotel. Sticky carpets, half ass cleaning resulting in hairs and stains on the bed and in the bathroom, foul smelling hallways, tired rooms…I see not a darn thing has changed despite the attempted improvements. I was surprised to see it was still open when I was in Las Vegas back in November. Shocking that hotel this is part of MGM’s portfolio- the demolition team has got to be near by.
It’s still open because shockingly it is still very profitable. Phil Ruffin is probably going to ride this place for another decade or two before he sells it for the land value.
The room looks like it belongs to the Budapest Grand hotel. In that movie.
The only way id ever consider even staying at CC is if the bears were playing in the super bowl that was in vegas and the ONLY hotel with a room was this one. Even then, id consider taking a flight to LA after the game and staying there

Circus Circus feels better now and has started to look better than before, and I say this because last time I came to this hotel was 5 years ago when MGM still owned Circus Circus, Back then I the hotel was trash
But now has started healing and I have faith in that the new owner will change the Hotel.
Eh. Phil Ruffin has done little more than allocate enough money to paint the place. It's still an absolute dive with a seedy atmosphere and the rooms, obviously, are still trash. A proper remodel would cost far more than he's willing to put into it.

Actually it’s called The Manor at Circus Circus, but they are not presently renting those rooms. Probably because of how bad their condition has become.
We booked a family vacation to Vegas n booked there🤦🏼♀️😂 we stayed one night there n went down to ceasers!! My kids wouldn’t take a shower there! But my husband did win good on the slots! The only reason we would step foot in there again is to gamble

I just stayed there for 4 nights. What a dump! Don't stay here!!!!!!
- 1/2 the rides were down
- Wify did not work even after multiple calls to help desk
- 8 elevators were down, only 2 worked so it was at least 1/2 hour to get to room
- Parking lot was flooded everywhere
- People staying there look like drug dealers or homeless people
- Cig smell everywhere, terrible ventilation
- Food is expensive and yuck.
- Was raining out and hotel was leaking with buckets set around to catch water
- and so much more. OMG
They had a shooting there about a year ago.

I wonder how many Circus Circus customers check in, see the room, and then check out? Since you said it was pretty easy to leave WITH a refund, well, it seems they must have a time-worn pollicy & procedure in place to address this. Sad how it’s declined.

Nice that they refunded you, at least. It was fun as a kid so I took my kid & we walked right back out 😂 saw another recent vlog on CC & the play area looked decent now. Just might take him to see the circus acts and then get out 😅
Some guy had his room invaded and he was killed not that long ago at circus circus. The only odd thing is that the popeyes at circus circus is the least ghetto one I have ever seen. I rather stay at binions or 4 queens for budget rooms. Even the motel 6 I stayed at in Tempe AZ was far cleaner than circus circus.

this reminds me of a motel in the 70s when driving cross country with the family. But this is a casino hotel ON THE STRIP. That in itself is unacceptable. Thee only way anyone will upgrade this hotel is if people stopped staying there and brought the atttendance down.
We call those guys pizza flyers as security we chase them around the hotel all night lol

Honestly, idk if this hotel was always this bad. Now, I questioning my parents decision making for ever taking me to stay at this place. I think my parents smartened up and started booking The Orleans instead of Circus Circus. Do have a soft spot for the Adventure Dome. . . . . which is now way overpriced.
