@@Bubbles8V92 You told me one time that you wanted a small window well I have one located the question is where are you the little window is in Dodge city Kansas
Thanks for making your videos. Looking forward to watching your work on this Freightliner. Seeing restorations like this are one of my favorite things to watch. Please keep this truck stock. It has survived for past 4 decades. Be a shame to see it modernized now. There are already many old trucks that have been modified. Vintage trucks in original factory setup are far more special. Keep up the good work. All the best.
That is a 96" cab, drove one back in the day, be careful getting back in the bunk, that center roof support will get ya! Too bad the tweekers got inside, better get that baby out of there quickly, to avoid more damage! Good luck, she is going to need some work but a sweet ride when you get done!
I'm so excited for this. I have a truck exactly like this one that I have been working on. Same engine, same size sleeper. Only difference is that mine is a 10 speed.
I drove the brother to that one for 15 years but mine had a 350 fuel squeezer Cummins and a 9513 roadranger ! That headache rack has to go , dang it’s ugly ! Lol. Many a night I slept on the dog house ! Best tractor I ever drove in my 35 + years driving !
She's not to shabby looking. I've been looking for a donor cab over to swap for my Diamond T. Ill be looking forward to seeing the updates on this old gal
Nice patina Try buffing it and maybe a clear over that ? Just a thought. Only original once. However a nice air ride in the back is a grand idea. Your back will thank you.
Greetings from the Ohio Porters. 😎You can tell she’s been sitting a while and neglected. Tis a shame, but the HERO comes along to save this beauty of a cabover! Hope the Cat works out ok and is fixable. I love cabovers, especially ones that have Cat engines! 🥰 Sounds like you have a plan. Good stuff and we wish you the best! Keep showing the progress. 🧐
Lot of work she will look good when done , The inside of the cab the paintwork look like some tweaker was in there 😂😂😂 I would set that truck at 275 wheelbase, That would be a perfect wheelbase , But she's your truck Your decision be safe
Ol2Stroker bought a rare cabover;he bought a 1974 Peterbilt 352 Pacemaker big bunk cabover with a naturally aspirated 12V71 "Buzzin Dozen" 2 stroke Screamin' Detroit Diesel engine. The truck is in pretty good shape;for a truck that sat inside a barn for the last 35-36 years. He got all the fuel injectors unstuck and got it to run.He plans on replacing everything that needs replacing;so it will pass D.O.T inspections to be road worthy, keeping it as origional as possible. The son of the former owner, sent him some pictures of the truck when it was bought brand new.
Wouldn't call your plans a "pure" restoration when part of it entails back-halving the frame with a newer Airliner cutoff....but it'll sure ride better! It's kinda rough overall, but not too far gone.....best to get it out of there before those kids come back and finish it off. Will be watching along on your progress....
I can already tell that this is going to be an epic build! Question for you Bubbles, are you getting jealous that Twin Sticks got a cab over? Asking for a friend...... lol
What an absolute beauty she will be once restored, Im in the UK and love trucks especially American ones Can you tell me, you mentioned stretching the frame as ive seen done so many times before but I just dont understand the fascination with stretching frames, is there a reason other than trying to look cool for doing this? I would love to see her fully restored "as is" and not messed about too much. Liked and subscribed to see how this turns out
Well looks definitely is the main reason... the others would be ride quality or having extra frame mounted boxes or tanks. I like a bit of a gap but there definitely is a point where a pretty obvious lack of taste takes over 😄 i like a bit of gap as it makes hooking trailers and working on the truck a bit easier
The hydraulic pressure from the cab jack also releases the missing part of your shift linkage which is the telescoping section with the hydraulic latch. The latches seem to get pretty janky over time so I bet someone took the jack and the hydro-latch/telescoping section at the same time.
It already has airbags, I'm sure parts can be got to fix it even if you have to buy a whole other rearcut to get diffs. You might get something newer but the deisgn has barely changed. Unless you get a Kenworth 8 bag, its not worth changing it. Time, work and possibly even cost wise rolling in a rear end from something newer might make sense, but still youre better off not having a weld enywhere.
It’s gonna be a sweet ride shame she’s been sitting cab body and interior look good I wouldn’t cut it off I’d put it back together new bags and lines are much cheaper than a cut off trust me !!
I had the same truck, sold it for 3500 dollars and it was turn key ready to roll the entire usa. The only thing is your body will not be able to absorb the bumps, these trucks are no good for the human body.
Nice truck , hope you do make it look like it came out of the show room ! For the age the interior is in very good condition , as for the seats if the backs are sound ,just get the base's re-covered , maybe new foam/bolster's ,cheaper than new seats plus keeps the interior original , as for the gear shift ,did these trucks have a box or a sliding shaft ? - check out 'NOT FOR HIRE' channel ,he has an '87 and his vids show the cab up, and the gear linkage . The gearbox 15 speed eaton/fuller ? gear pattern on the doghouse/engine cover looked like an eaton/fuller 10(9)speed ? . Good luck ,big job but will be worth it when complete .
Ya the seats themselves should be saved, hopefully the bases are repairable, i have a guy that is great with upholstery than can fix the torn parts, i said replaced but i should have said repaired, 👍
Out of all the old school cabovers, this body style is my favorite...can't wait to see it when you are done 👍💪💯
Yep same here
All Freightliner cab overs are worth saving! The best looking truck ever and they don’t make them anymore!
Love it - good luck on the build 👊
Thanks 👊
Hey Twin Sticks🖐🏻

i love the old bag phone on the dash...those were state of the art back in the day
looks like its got good bones, will make a cool truck all done for sure.
Trucks in this condition are my favorite because if you have the know how you can basically turn it into anything you want
My dream a double bunk FLB can’t wait to see this one come along good luck 🍀
SHE NEEDS LOTS OF WORK BUD BUT LOVE IT LOVE THE INTERIOR CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU END UP DOING TO HER. AWESOME...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Cabover semis were the king of the roads in the USA🇺🇸 back in the day when the length limit was shorter.
looking forward to the restoration, greetings from the Netherlands
Looks like somebodies children was let lose with the colour pens ! I cant wait to see more of this project.

Good to hear 😁
Trying to sell it? Been trying to find one
A red on red double bunk with all the hard to find parts still there & a 3406B, that's a find!
Double bunk FL cabover, I will watch all of this.
Can’t wait to see the work start on this beauty 👍🇮🇪
That bunk is huge! Bet a fellow can get some quality sleep in that thing. Very cool find. I love the old cabovers.
Good luck with the restoration, i will watch it with great interest . Here in europe all trucks are cabovers, but nothing like a Freightliner.
Good stuff, bring it on 🇨🇦
Ya, you might be missing a few things, but there is so much there to start work from that it's a great find!
How exciting. Looking forward to the videos to come.
Happy I found this channel. I love restoration video's of old big trucks, back to factory look.
Yes not all the big bumpers and visors that look stupid.
Man you have a tough job ahead of you. Best of luck, hope you're successful.
I looked all over for one of those phones for my 1990. Still
Has the base just not the hand held part. Good bones, cool project!
Ill let u know if we decide to take it off
Thank you for breathing new life into old iron.
Nice, can't wait to hear it run🖒
Can't wait to see this project
Going to be a Sweet looking truck when you get her done!! Be watching the progress!!
This is an awesome truck but I still like the older one a little bit better. Like the one you already have. Can't wait to see it fixed. Actually solid
Good project!
she's got potential, and will be a total sweetheart when done.

Nice project. Glad youre keeping it mostly original. I dont like it when people ruin a nice truck by going crazy with custom stuff.
Nice truck, I saw this truck last year and have a picture of it saved on my phone.
Looks like a great project! And it's got a 3406B too 👍👍

He's had some pretty neat trucks! That twin stick longhood was a beauty too 👍
Are those new cowboy boots you're wearing? The square toes look awesome. Would be good to see more of them in a future video.
I like it

good luck with this project, what about a electric hydraulic home to raise the cab?
they had air operated pumps in the 90's and electric later, gotta come up with something

Ya thats going to be a hard find.... 😑
Someone left you an old school cab jack. lol Hope you show getting it back to the shop.
Great find and congrats on saving her. Now I have to ask why would you cut a perfectly good air ride to add an air ride
You found Optimus Prime! 😲

Parts are hard to find for cab overs.
Keep the old school cell phone!
Have you got plans to keep it the same color? It looks good. Same with the red interior👌
how long do you think it will take for you to complete this truck?
Is that an old Manitoulin tractor? It's not the treasure box model but the paint job looks familiar.
She's gonna sweet! What color are you thinking? Hopefully a mild frame stretch
Well we got a lot of work before we decide but nothing crazy on the stretch tho
Do you know why it was parked up originally?
Do you know what color it will be when your done?
i like the video

Good night I was watching the video and I was wondering what the possibility of you selling this vehicle would be? And what city/town it’s located in?

I'm a little confused -- if the back portion of the frame is in decent shape, why cut it off? Excited for more videos though!
Its the early air ride system which was pretty bad, the airliner suspension will be a lot more comfortable especially on a cabover
What are u going to do with it
what kind of creature enters a truck to break it? doomed one!
Do you have any new videos on the new project yet
Bit of a scheduling conflict getting it to my place as im on the road a lot, making 359 vids but not uploading them yet too
I see that and think a lot of money and a lot of time.
