I used to do that hike many years ago. Looks about the same but the first falls always had fairly deep water at the bottom. We used to go in for several days with just trail mix and fishing gear. If we didn't catch fish we went hungry. Also went past the second falls, and the only way to get past that one was to use a rope that the rangers put there with a sign saying "Use at own risk" or jump 30 feet to water. Doing the hike in one day is pretty intense. I would only recommend it for people in tip top shape. I guided some athletes down there once for a few hours back when and all had near exhaustion ailments. Enjoyed your throwback video.
Hadalook atit last wknd. Planned to go DOWN Skull Cyn, n try to maka loop, by comin up tha drainage tha comes in to tha parkin lot from tha SE. (Wishful thinkin, I know!) But it'sa long drive from San Diego, n I din't get there till 0900, n it was already hot AF. Ran along that ridge, in-between, try'na see what I could see, and, even then, I could feel my BP was up (Sux gettin old!), n I was forced to concede that today was not tha day. I only skimmed Brennan's writup b4 I left, but, upon my return, I readit more thoroughly, and he seems to think u ain't goin below tha falls w/o technical gear. Didu do any recon lower down?
I think theres another falls below the one we went to. Going down Skull canyon might be tough without technical gear as well. That trail on the ridge must go somewhere, just not sure where exactly.
Nice video. I used to hike down there when I was a kid. I remember every nice pool were loaded with wild rainbow trout. No established trail with mostly all rock hopping and lots of rattlesnake. Those were the good old days. It was he'll going back out but worth it.
It's funny cause I literally live like35 minutes away from these mountains but every time I go out for hikes or just go in to the mountains I drive like 4 hours to sequoia or the Sierra over by Bishop which is 6 hours away... they never really got my attention but after seen your videos I have a lot of hiking to do
Nice vid!! Maybe you should consider changing your name to Jesse Indiana cuz you're like Indiana Jones out there juming boulders and creeks Lol 😂 What would u recommend for a beginners hike out there in So Cal? Something i could take my 2 kids 10 and 13 that isn't too long,is safe, and has nice scenery.
Jesse St Louis Yeah i should of been more specific on where in So Cal I'll be LOL. I'll be in Corona Ca and the ones you mentioned seem to be in Angeles National Forest so getting to thoes shouldn't be to bad of a drive to get to but then again i hear the traffic out there is a whole other beast 😬 Thanks for the info, much appreciated!!

Thanks Cory!! I wanna do a full run one day, all the way down to the reservoir.
@@JesseStLouis past the second falls is pretty boring. Not much of the water was going past the second falls Really flat. Good luck
beautiful places.
Yes, I miss them
Nice g
if parked at that devil's sign and you go down to that falls and go back up the same way, how many miles are we talking?
I don't remember exactly but probably around 15 or 16 miles

Hi jesse st louis! I send you some videos in facebook of etevenson water falls!! Hope you like it😁
Very cool, will definitely added to the schedule. Heading to Royal Pool tomorrow :)
That can be a tough hike, especially when it rains. I know from first hand experience! :)
Tough but worth it!

Yeah, it's great for sure. We actually saw a couple giant rattlers but I forgot to put the footage in. Thanks for watching Ruben.
Bonito equipo. Beautiful team ❤
I’ve done that hike only got to the campground. How far from the campground is the waterfall?
I dont really remember but probably about an hour or so
I’ve been eyeing on that one too. Nice video.

Thanks C n J
Have you tired hiking around Hidden springs?
Not yet. Is it nice?
Long water stream, hiking trails, and many water pools, not so deep but very beautiful with free camping sites.
Cool, thanks
we will have a wet summer #weathermodificationforgood
I hope so
New subscriber here... how do you find the places!?
Lots of different ways. This video has some great resources: ua-cam.com/video/WhR37mgkISU/v-deo.html

Plenty of beginner hikes. Eaton Falls, Sturtavent Falls, Griffith Park, so many. Depends on where you'll be.
Black Star Canyon, Crystal Cove, Peters Canyon as well🙂
