My hat off to you, for someone that said they never did anything like this before you did a great job. Best thing to do is take your time, take pictures and videos and never be afraid to ask questions. I did notice your oil pressure was low before and after. hopefully you got this fixed. collasped lifters means its time to afm delete. the afm system goes bad after like 50k miles and usually causes hella heartbreak. more if you have an upgraded camshaft. same thing happened to my car rn. ordered an afm delete kit, new pushrods, springs, etc that the person who had my car before me should have but didnt when they upgraded the cam. but the afm delete kit from a site like texas speed will fix this issue and give you the options you need to make sure it doesnt happen again. Also i would suggest link bar style lifters. why? one less fail point by removing the plastic trays all together. if u dont believe look up what happens when ur plastic lifter tray starts to get old. gl gb if you do the new lifters you can also add more hp to your car. glad to see you got it all sorted and this will def help my problem so you did help a bro out lol.

Man listen, I had to figure something out cause I don’t have the money they trimming to charge at the dealership…glad I could help keep some money in your pocket
Yeah most common thing when this happens I just found out lifter will go bad so need to replace that but also make sure you replace the oil pan pick up tube o-ring and while at it replace the oil pan gasket as well won’t hurt to replace it since the oil pan is gonna come down. I will be doing this to mine as well

@@coreyjackson2028 I didn't get it fixed yet, I'm saving some money up so a mechanic can fix it for me, he said that the #7 lifter is bad, so what he said he's going to do is take the top half of the motor apart and replace all the lifters and the oil pump sensor and replace all the other parts including new gaskets, parts including labor he said will cost me $2,200, the dealer told me it would cost me $4,500, the dealership is crooked
Been researching this issue p0307 on my ls3 I have all the same sighns going on hopefully this is it 🤔 changed the coils plugs injector next thing is gonna be inspecting the lifter and valves
That flashing check engine light can also happen if you have a leak on your fuel rail, i had an idiot that swore up and down he was a mechanic work on my vehicle and he took the fuel rail off to replace knock sensor, i took it to a real pro and told me it was spraying fuel at my fuel rail
Trying to solve 2010 Sierra with similar issue on #1 which is part of AFM. I swapped #1 and #3 coil. Installed new plug on #1. Made another code pop up. It is too cold here to pull engine apart. I want to test wiring tonight before I tell nephew to take it to a shop.
Yea that AFM is a faulty system..I'm pretty sure u have the same issue I had...she is still running strong since the repair tho and back to being my daily driver!!!! Check out @crazedperformancerepair for more info on this repair...he helped me along the way!
@@87SSBOI I opened valve cover yesterday. Intake pushrod was bent on #1. Valve was moving freely. I installed new correct pushrod but rocker is slapping on valve stem. 1/4" slack. I released the collapsed lifter and deleted the AFM...check out @crazed performance repair for more detailed vids on the repair...thanks for watching and good luck🦾
I had the same problem except my truck had a tap on cylinder 6. Thought it was a spun bearing, or the flexplate. Turns out the dod/afm system caused this to happen. I would seriously consider doing a dod delete bro, bc it probably will happen again. The dod system works good until you get up into higher miles then it starts failing. I'm in the process now of a cam swap, a non dod valley cover, LS7 lifters and tray, high performance pushrods, and LS7 valve springs. They also have a device made by range that you can plug into your ob reader port that turns the dod system off as well.
Thanks for watching and for the input...my DOD is deleted...sent my computer off and had it removed by LT1swaps.com ➡️ I also modified the vlom for the delete...later on down the road I may buy the actual delete kit with the stage 2 cam and the vlom delete plate 🦾
@@87SSBOI I did some research on what you did right after I watched your video. I like the way you did it, it also saves money. I only reason I'm doing the kit is bc I'm installing a bigger cam and it doesn't support the dod lifters. If you don't plan on doing a cam swap the way you got it is perfect. How long did it take to get your computer back?
Thanks…it was new to me but I didn’t have $$$$ to spend..it worked out great and lasted the life of the vehicle..I totaled it last year, now the engine is on a stand waiting to go in my 86 C10

I have the same issues with this Tahoe that I’m using. Will be doing this after this state thaws out. Thank you for the video!
No problem...and she's still running strong with this remedy...runs better than it did before because eim on all 8 cylinders at all times
hopefully you got this fixed. collasped lifters means its time to afm delete. the afm system goes bad after like 50k miles and usually causes hella heartbreak. more if you have an upgraded camshaft. same thing happened to my car rn. ordered an afm delete kit, new pushrods, springs, etc that the person who had my car before me should have but didnt when they upgraded the cam. but the afm delete kit from a site like texas speed will fix this issue and give you the options you need to make sure it doesnt happen again.
Also i would suggest link bar style lifters. why? one less fail point by removing the plastic trays all together. if u dont believe look up what happens when ur plastic lifter tray starts to get old. gl gb
if you do the new lifters you can also add more hp to your car. glad to see you got it all sorted and this will def help my problem so you did help a bro out lol.
Thanks for the info!!! I did the backyard afm/did delete but in the near future I plan to order the kit...it's working fine so far tho...Crazed Performance Repair's videos helped me out tremendously

I will be doing this to mine as well

Great job videoing this post. When you startled removing oil sending unit and the plate it was attached to lifted and you had all the bolts riding in the holes I almost choked! I could just see one falling into engine! I couldn't tell if you shop vac that intake area before going any farther but I hope you did. I totally enjoyed all of it.

1/4" slack. My guess is lifter is stuck. I do not think the valve was damaged because valve did not dump gas into cylinder from intake until I pushed valve down manually. I have been watching the crazedperformance videos. If a compression test shows good, then I am going to try and release lifter and delete AFM. My nephew can't afford to get it repaired professionally.
