EXCELLENT WORK! this channel saved me once again!!!
You make it look so easy removing the connectors.
They edit the difficult parts even removing the seats is a hassle
Great video! Thanks for making it. Especially good links to more details about failure mode etc. Have a great day!
Great video and I will be checking this little guy when I get home. This morning on my way to work I pulled up to a red light and the car (2013 GTI) Just shut off. No fault codes, no battery light. Started right back up and hasn't been a problem since. But I'd rather get ahead of the issue. Does this sound like it could be the drivability example of a bad control module?
Hey Paul, many thanks for this demo & tutorial! I just fell victim to a faulty FPCM... In my case it melted, leaked some oil & caused a short circuit, causing the fuel pump to be constantly running at high speed, even after the engine was turned off and doors locked!! The factory-installed was revision F from Romania, current revision is J from China, with a metal heat sink exposed on the big flat side. I disconnected the battery for the time, until I purchased one from the Stealership & replaced it as DIY.
Hey Dubai Driver, my GOLF V 1,6FSI is also running the fuel pump after ignition is off + when driving the car, it sometimes cuts in and out until failure - after some time, I’m then able to start it back up again.
I’ve also been removing the fuel pump fuse, cause if I don’t, it runs out of battery in no time.
Do you think I’m having the same problem?
Thanks. You save me $500. It was draining my battery to 0 over couple hours.

Thanks for the info, always helpful DIY vids. 2011 CC and I think this solved my problem.
Is it the same procedure for 2011 cc?

Do you know if the mk7 GTI has a fuel cutoff switch or Inertia switch? I had a minor front fender accident that deployed the airbags, the car does a heavy click but doesn’t want to turn
Got code p0087 change follwer and was okay but other day while warming it up she died and sounds like it not getting any fuel should change hpfp next or trust sensor??
I replace it from my passat tsi 2014. Its any difference from the original green and the black one that I bought??
Thanks for the video. 2006-2010 model VW passat /Wagon& 2009-2016 Model Year VW CC has *********Safety Recall 20AE.
How can I tell if my control module is bad? I swear I can't hear my new in-tank fuel pump prime up but I'm pretty sure it's working fine as mileage has improved.
is this the same module location for 2014 audi a4? I seen a video for 2011 audi a4 and the module was bolted from underneath the car?
Will this work on my B6 Passat 1.8 TSI?
Hi, I got a p3089 code (fuel pump electronics signal ~ intermittent) on my golf mk6 gti. Could this due to a faulty module?
Hi, OJ from south Africa. My mk6 level sensor not working, but the car is operating as normal. do I replace the whole pump?
Hi, I just changed to a new module and after changing to a new module, the fuel pump works fine but the float does not rise, what should be done?
You r really amazing guy
Hello...
my car is passat 2011 b7 and is running normal, but there is a yellow ligth on...
i checked with Scanner and there is FAUT 000604 - Fuel Pump Control Module P025 - 000 short to ground - intermittent.... and FAUT 001056 catalyst system ; bank 1 P0420 - 000 - efficiency below threshold....
Can be problem in this part ???
Thanks
Does this work for a 2008 Passat 2.0 TSI komfort ccta motor?
Hi could you tell me how to test the fuel pump montrol module DIY? I was watching that the module you show in the video is the same for my audi tt 2.0t 2008
Verify 12 volts at the fuel pump relay (when ignition in run position). Test fuel pump - unplug fuel pump control module from fuel pump, apply 12 volts to fuel pump. If the pump runs and you had 12 volts at the relay, it must be the control module or a wiring fault. There are no other components in between the relay and the fuel pump. If you do not have 12 volts at the relay, the problem is before the relay (fuses, ECM..). If you do, the problem is after the relay (fuel pump control module, wiring, fuel pump). The fuel pump control module is diagnosed through elimination.
I had to to this on my girls 09 Passat.
I was done in less than 10 minutes.
Easy job.
Wondering why you had to do it yourself as there was a recall in Canada, exactly three years ago for replacement of that module. Minds you I am the original owner and still get regular updates from VW about any recall work outstanding. Still have the car and it’s doing great 11 years later and not planning to replace it any time soon.
Where is this located on a 2012 Tiguan?
what about 2008 passat wagon? I looked at rear seats, not there.
What is the symptom if the module problem? I have a problem with my audi a3 sportback.engine stall after a few minute while warming the engine..
Does this include TDI's?
is the fuel pump control module and fuel pump relay the same thing? i recently had the fuel control module replaced and the next day i got a check engine light on with a system lean code p2187 , fuel pump relay open circuit/short circuit to ground code 01259 and a fuel gauge sensor 1 resistance too high code B103E1B . does this mean that the fuel pump needs to be replaced as well?any help is appreciated thanks
Same issue here. It was good for a day then 4 codes pop up, but mine says pressure low.
Where IS The tank Fuel pump located on seat exeo 2011 1.8tsi ?
We appreciate the DIY videos but it would be a greater help if you answer the questions! And I promise you that this will generate more views!
There was a recent recall for this. I have a 2006 Passat and I took it to the dealership and they replaced it for free :) . They'll also reimburse you if you've changed it recently.
Did they by any chance relocate the module? I'm in receipt of a recall notice and according to the note. They will relocate to a different location. I'm guessing the current location is not ideal, if a heavy person seats on that side of the seat will crush the module.
@@noelaguirre7104 I really hope you get this. Do you know where they relocated the module on your car? I am suffering a similar issue with a 2014 Jetta.
Good Vid, does the module need to be adapted, after installation?
no !!!! plug and

Thanks so much 🙏
Any thoughts on how to replace the fuel pump control module on VW Tiguan 2011? The check engine light just came on with an error code of P025C - "Fuel Pump Module Control, Signal Too Low". I'm hoping that replacing the fuel pump module control will take care of the problem. Any advice is greatly appreciated, Thanks!
Hey I know this was years ago but did that work for you? Going through same thing right now.
@@chosenone1291 I'm having same aswell did anything work?
Can someone please tell me the name/code (anything to identify it) of switch that comes from floor and enters thee control module?
I need to replace it and I cannot find it anywhere...
THANKS!!
Does anyone know if the 2.0 SOHC model has these as well?
If I hear this on after the ignition is off, do I need to replace the module or would it be something else?
Hey Crunketh, did you ever find out what it was?
I’m suffering through the same thing presently.
All help would be greatly appreciated.
How much fuel does it take to completely submerge the pump, 2 gallons ?
Could this module being bad cause the car to not start? I have an 06 Jetta 2.0T FSI cleaned grounds, new battery, fuses etc and still won't fully start. She'll crank but yeah lol.
after I replaced the controller the fuel gauge does not work anymore. Any help?
Tank you it's very nice formations thes sensor it's can not starting the care 😉 and show signal EPC
which is the better engine the 2.0 fsi or the 2.0 tsi? or which has less problems?
TSI had several improvements over the FSI. However, I searched for a TSI version before buying, found one meticulously maintained, and still had several problems arise. The water pump seal, if not installed absolutely correctly, will fail. The dealer had just done it about 12k prior on ours and it failed right after we bought it. Dealer no help, of course (past 12 month warranty). The timing chain tensioner has been known to fail. If you DON'T replace the crankcase vent valve as soon as it fails, you'll blow out your engine seals, ours did. Rear main seal repair ain't cheap either. Two of these fuel pump control modules within about 20k miles also. Don't even ask about sunroof drains.
Tsi is better
FSi
This is going to be fun in a two door...I wonder how many days it will take for my knees/back to heal?
I’m suffering through it as we speak.

I just received a recall letter from VW saying this is a known issue, but they have no fix in place. If you haven't replaced yours yet, have it replaced by VW. I replaced mine 9 months ago because it was killing my battery.
VW is on the ball with this one. /Sarcasm
Hi, where is this located on a 2011 Tigaun?
Did you ever find the location?
Hello I have a Volkswagen Gti 2012 and got the P025A code do you think that this can be the fault. At the beginning of driving my car feels weak every time I start driving or stop at the lights stops. Any advice thank you
Did you find out? I just got that code a few minutes ago
Did you find out?
Hey do you thin this install would be the same for a 2010 VW CC ?
think*
Was it ?
Does the part number written on these modules matter? Like my passat has one ending with an F and when I bought one I hardly checked only for me to have some issues later. Upon checking I realized it had a D at the end of the part number.
Did you ever figure this out ? Same issue... I replaced mine .worked for 24 hours and then had the same issues...and realized the letter at the end was a G instead of a F
@@melanielpeixotoI don't think so, G was the latest revision
What code did you get to know it was bad?
I have a 2006 GLI, 2.0T, with Fault code P0171 - bank 1 lean - if vacuum leak (too much air) is ruled out, is failure of the Fuel Pump Control Module a possible source of this fault? Or more likely the fuel pump itself a source?
Interested to hear what your diagnosis was. Our fault P0171 ended up being a rear main seal, after trying other, cheaper repairs first. Yes, a rear main seal can cause P0171 bank 1 lean code. Confirmed. I have replaced two fuel pump control modules and neither gave a P0171 code, by the way.
P0171 faut code pcv valve !
@@candyman1031 how much that cost u?
Did u ever get that fixed?
@@automatedcomment the rear main seal was $1400 repair, if I recall correctly. That may have included anything else they deemed needed "while they were in there". The solution has been permanent. We've driven it at least 30K miles since then. Not sure exactly.

Can this be problem on VW scirocco 2.0 TSI. When car fuel tank drops to 1/4 car start to stall and chough. When tank is full there is no issue at all. Or there can be possibility that crankshaft position sensor is not ok since it is knowns as RPM and speed sensor?

Hii
This is a bad video. He edits over that hardest part first time DIY's will have with this install, removing the wire harness from the top of the fuel pump. You will need a small head straight screwdriver to pop the retaining red tab up a 1/4'' before the harness will let go. You will notice a screwdriver magically appear in his hand at one point. I hate it when they gloss over the hard parts in videos like this.
