You, sir, are a fantastic composer. Having listened to your other songs, I swear you get better every time. Already a big Witcher fan but songs like these make me realise what a masterpiece it is - and how it inspires others to make masterpieces like this. Thanks for this!
Skellige is an awesome area to explore and the music is very atmospheric. ...and then I ran into a cave full of farting trolls and had a laughing fit...
My favourite artist singing a song about my favourite place in a video game? Yes, please. I'm new to The Witcher but fell instantly in love with it. Skellige is the main reason why my game is still nowhere near complete (apart from my obsessive need to do every single side quest and Witcher hunt) I've only left twice since getting there and that was for Qwent and running out of quests.
This gave me a feeling I've not had except 3 times before when I first played Witcher 3, Skyrim, and Oblivion. That feeling of just grabbing a blade and a horse and riding recklessly into adventure then coming home to spend my loot. I have to say I am very excited for when we finally get another awesome big RPG.
I literally started playing this game for the first time 5 days ago, and I'm hooked. Clocked in 25 hours already, still so much to see! I love it! And then this song comes out, almost by coincidence! Nice :D
Jokairou94 Even on a day off, 19 hours?? There's only 24 hours in a day, y'know. 19 hours in a day is ungodly xD Wow! I'm a student, and I have finals in two weeks, else I would've played a LOT more, and am planning to this summer.
Doubt you'll see this, Gav, but another masterpiece. I've loved the variety and complexity you've produced over time, and the subject of your songs definitely appeals to me. Definitely one of the best to date, you just seem to get better with every one!
Just passed 350 hrs . this game is really one of the few games these days that has lived up to its hype. Trying to finish off the last trophies and quests before i start the expansion pack .
When Gavin makes a bad song it shall herald the end of the world. The sun shall die, the armies of hell will invade and those beings once mercifully sleeping will awaken to devour the world.
I can't believe i only discovered this now!! The reason Skellige is my favourite culture in the Witcher is because it's based on the actual Norse-Gael culture.
I don't think he's ever done a song with his girlfriend. To my knowledge, the female artists he's collabed with were Mulaka and his drinking buddy from "Evacuate" whos name I don't remember.
Man oh man this has been an awesome month of content. Jet Fuel Heart and Hell to Pay instantly clicked and became new favourites, Here we Go Again and Forever Flame have really grown on me, and this... this is just immediately brilliant. It's got the same perfect rhythm that Nord Mead has, but more serious, and shows just how far you've come since you made that song. All the layers work brilliantly on one another, and just... just... it's a damn awesome song Gav, that's all I have to say :D
+miracleofsound That's what I thought when I first saw the ring of Kerr- Skellige...... It's just soooo similar to Ireland and familiar to everybody who has lived in Ireland..... Awesome Work once again Gav! I'm deeply impressed!!!!!!!!!
My childhood. The songs that played on the phone every morning while getting ready for school! 😇😇 You look back, just having finished teens and you think, "Damn! This never gonna get old huh?"
This song made me want to take hold of an axe in one hand and a beautiful wench in the other and dance drunk until the morn! "Skellige winds a' wild, a' wild! Skellige winds a' wild!"
+Simon de Mist Technically he made 5 because there's Silver and Steel, Wake the White Wolf, Lady of Worlds, Skellige Winds, and Ploughing a Troll, which he said was inspired by the songs they sang in taverns.
+Simon de Mist I think he likes it(in his post he said that he plays blood and wine so he plays witcher 3, and when someone is playing some game he probably likes it
Your Norse/Celtic drinking songs are always the best. Maybe when you have enough for a full album, you could get a bunch of people to record them a capella like they'd really be sung in taverns across the multiverse.
Heres some info about Skellige's unofficial Witcher School, the School of the Bear, confirmed by emails I sent back and forth with Cody Pondsmith, who helped write a lot of their lore: -The Bear School is based in the heart of the Amell Mountains near Cintra, and host their final trial on Mt. Gorgon near Toussaint. -They are loners, and will even time to time fight other Witchers to try and get a contract they really want, but will never kill another Witcher over a contract, just wound, and even then thats after a lot of threats and warnings. If that other Witcher stands firm, they earn the Bears' respect. -despite wearing heavy armor and rumors saying they tank through blows, their armor is very flexible and theyre just as agile as any other Witcher. They also have a scholarly side, pushing the Quen sign beyond any other Witcher school, and have the same level of konster knowledge as the ither schools. -They are not based in Skellige, but love hanging out there. This is because, generally, the Bears hate authority and those who try and command them. They therefore get along best with Dwarves, Gnomes, and Skelligers, all who meet them on their own terms and treat them with respect. -Despite being seen as loners, if they fight alongside a person enough, even other Witchers, they view that person as family and will be willing to die for them. -They fight to the death for command of the school. Its not known if anyone has ever beaten the school's founder, a massive witcher named Arnaghad.

So, I hope this isn't a rude question or anything. I'm genuinely curious. I don't normally hear your native accent during your songs, but here it's quite prevalent, even focused on. It makes me wonder. When you sing normally, do you make any attempt to hide/mask your native accent, or is it just the nature of singing that makes it harder to hear, and thus, you have to emphasize it for songs like this? I suppose I only ask because I've noticed with many other people that their regional accents seem to 'disappear' when singing, and it makes me wonder if it's just a byproduct of proper singing techniques (and the act of singing words just makes it harder to 'hear' them) or not.
And hereby The Witcher 3 becomes the second game to have 3 songs by Gavin, as far as I know. Or the first to have 4, if you count both versions of "Wake the white wolf" as separate ones :)
Dominik Miso Oh yeah, now that I did a quick search, I guess I forgot about Winter Still. Probably because it's instrumental, so I don't have Gavin's voice connecting it to him :-)
Don't hesitate any longer, you are missing out if you do. But if you have not played The Witcher 2, I would recommend playing that first because of it's awesome story and bad ass combat, but it's entirely up to you.
A valid concern, but I highly recommend it. Such an amazing game with one of the best in game worlds ever built. It's so authentic feeling, so lived in.
I was wondering why I was getting a Skyrim-y vibe from the video. Figures Gopher captured it: he basically IS Skyrim in my mind. And of course the superlative music of Gavin blows me away, no matter how much I expect it coming in.
The Witcher has been the inspiration of some of your best songs and this continues the trend. Really can't wait for Level 7 when I can get them all in one go.
Ein sehr schönes Lied ,wie immer ^^ Ich liebe deine Songs ,ich bekomm meist richtig Bock zu zocken The song is beautiful, they are always beautiful Gav ,I loves your songs , everytime I heard them ,I wanna want to play the games Your amazing ^^ So ,why u not playing one the games con at Köln ( I didn't know the English name 😅 ) I think u will really promote every game u sing about it (I'm sorry ,when I make grammar fails ,English isn't my mothertongue ,so don't Lynch me ,please ;-) )
Das Wort für "Köln" im Englischen ist "Cologne" Außerdem hast du denselben Vornamen wie ich, sehe ich gerade. Da findet man ein mal einen Deutschen hier, und dann fühlt man sich geklont. Hilfe.
I have no clue why, but since a few days I've been listening to ALL of your songs on repeat and they just do not seem to bore me at all, even better, they seem to make everything I do more fun! Thank you for your awesome creations, I hope to enjoy all of your future songs aswell, and I'm actually not in doubt that I most definitely will enjoy them! ;)
I freaking loved skellige. Yes the terrain can be annoying(sooooo many mountains) but i really liked the people, the lore and the questslines there. Also crach was one of my fav chars.
Viking, aye, but with heavy Celtic influence too, as well as heavy Irish accents, a lot of Irish-sounding words. Have you seen the druids, and their decor? It's a synthesis of both types of culture. I said what I said because the Skelligan accent is Irish.
How so? Their believes and legends, as well as general look are abviously influenced by scandinavian culture. Berserks , their so called ''economy'', wild hunt and ragnarok. I don't see a scottish connection.
This sounds like a song you'd hear a Skellige sailor mumbling to himself as he works in game.
Rhyme schemes approved
Finally someone noticed!!!! :D
loved the overwatch rap you two did Dan. Amazing flow.

And here I thought we were done with the Witcher.
Then I remembered: why be done with the Witcher when you can not?
The legacy of the Witcher shall live on in our hearts.
Man I hope they make another witcher game, they just kept getting better instead of the usual where it gets worse
+k1ll3rM there is probably no Witcher game in the next 5 years but if they release another Witcher game then without Geralt:(
Well we do have the next expansion coming out which looks amazing. So you won't be done with it for a while.

This is just one of the best songs ever made. Not from you, literally one of the best ever written.
Awesome!!!
greetings from Poland!!!! :D :3
IT'S BEEN FOUR YEARS ALREADY. I REMEMBER WHEN THIS CAME OUT
It'd be a very big undertaking, that you might not have time for...but an entire Witcher album would be incredible :)
MasterHumus hmm, I don't know. That world has a LOT of history that would make some really awesome songs.
YES? Sing the ballad of the witcher gerd
He made a song called Ploughing a Troll ... Go figure .
He also may get sued.
I did not know that. In these days you usually get sued for the simplist of things by large companies.
Fell in love with that song within first five seconds, never ceases to amaze
It's a bit of both. Q4: miracleofsound.net/2014/08/faq/
My favourite part of this song is how Gav's accent slips through in the chorus. Keep on rocking on, Irish lad!
One of your best pieces. Love it.
*Is bored to death*
*Goes on UA-cam*
*Sees "SKELLIGE WINDS by Miracle of Sound, 8 minutes ago"*
Oh man.
I can actually imagine hearing this in a Skellige mead hall (or whatever they call them), which is awesome. Level 7 is looking extremely promising.
And hereby The Witcher 3 becomes the second game to have 3 songs by Gavin, as far as I know. Or the first to have 4, if you count both versions of "Wake the white wolf" as separate ones :)
nope first 4 song have Skyrim :)
+Dominik Miso there's gonna be another Witcher song coming for the new expansion, so until then ;-)
gorocz what i now search he made 5 Skyrim songs :D
Dominik Miso What? How did I miss that? Hmm...
Dominik Miso
Oh yeah, now that I did a quick search, I guess I forgot about Winter Still. Probably because it's instrumental, so I don't have Gavin's voice connecting it to him :-)
A song that I constantly listen to when exploring the world around me.
I have a copy of W3 but I'm too scared to start that I can't stop playing :):/
JUST DO IT
Don't hesitate any longer, you are missing out if you do. But if you have not played The Witcher 2, I would recommend playing that first because of it's awesome story and bad ass combat, but it's entirely up to you.
+Grand Canyon Moses lol he/she is already worried about witcher 3 gameplay time xD
JUST DO IT
A valid concern, but I highly recommend it. Such an amazing game with one of the best in game worlds ever built. It's so authentic feeling, so lived in.
The moment this hits google play I'm buying. I don't even play Witcher 3 and I love this song.
I wish his music could be included in the new Netflix show!
Why though it would be like adding adding violets on shit. It would not help.
I've listened to this song multiple times and just now I discover that gopher captured the video... Cool!
Очень нравится. Молодец.
I was wondering why I was getting a Skyrim-y vibe from the video. Figures Gopher captured it: he basically IS Skyrim in my mind.
And of course the superlative music of Gavin blows me away, no matter how much I expect it coming in.
Brought to you by the Skellige Tourism Board
The Witcher has been the inspiration of some of your best songs and this continues the trend.
Really can't wait for Level 7 when I can get them all in one go.
I'd like to see how you fare on making songs in the Final Fantasy game series. Mainly Final Fantasy VII and it's remake. And even Final Fantasy XV.
comment from the future, the FFVIIR songs are absolutely magical
This is just fun to listen to when do homework for school. Thank you Miracle of Sound for the amazing track!
This reminds me very generally of Sovngarde Song, with a stronger soul.
Thanks for cheering me up, like you always do. One desperate day less for me.
No i pięknie.
Mount & Blade FTW
Nie ma to jak już 3 Piosenka z Wiedźminem 3 Prosto od Gavina :D

Mount & Blade! It's ALMOST harvesting season!
I WILL DRINK FROM YOR SKOLL
My absolute favourite part from this game. The beautiful Skellige isles.
Have you been to Toussent yet? It is almost as good as Skellige.
Я тебя обожаю и твои песни.

Außerdem hast du denselben Vornamen wie ich, sehe ich gerade.
Da findet man ein mal einen Deutschen hier, und dann fühlt man sich geklont. Hilfe.

Very good, Gavin, you've done it again! Another one to my playlist!
Please. Please let there be a Metal Verion of this
I have no clue why, but since a few days I've been listening to ALL of your songs on repeat and they just do not seem to bore me at all, even better, they seem to make everything I do more fun! Thank you for your awesome creations, I hope to enjoy all of your future songs aswell, and I'm actually not in doubt that I most definitely will enjoy them! ;)
Norse + pirates = win.
Norse + Pirates = Vikings lol
Exactly
More like the Scottish + Norse.
Irish, technically :)
Norse + pirates = Vikings , hookers and blackjack
I freaking loved skellige. Yes the terrain can be annoying(sooooo many mountains) but i really liked the people, the lore and the questslines there. Also crach was one of my fav chars.
So has anyone actually finished this game?
The main Storyline, yeah, but you can't complete 100% this game. There's to much things to do.
Twice now
Oh don't worry...I will get there...Eventually...
i have twice
Yes, twice :D
GREAT Music made by Miracle of Sound AWESOME
Tbh I'm surprised there are no lines in Irish
Either way, this is so great!
The Skelligans are not Irish they are very much Vikings.
Viking, aye, but with heavy Celtic influence too, as well as heavy Irish accents, a lot of Irish-sounding words. Have you seen the druids, and their decor? It's a synthesis of both types of culture.
I said what I said because the Skelligan accent is Irish.
skellige is based on scottland
How so? Their believes and legends, as well as general look are abviously influenced by scandinavian culture. Berserks , their so called ''economy'', wild hunt and ragnarok. I don't see a scottish connection.
The Continent is pretty much based on UK , the empire is south ( Nilfgaard / England ) and the Northern Kingdoms ( Scotland / Ireland )
AMAZING! Can't stop listening to this!!
Please make for blood and wine
