Obviously written by someone who “was not there”. To list a ‘75 Camaro with these others is laughable. Don’t get me wrong, I have owned a ‘75 Camaro. Great car but not in the same catagory as Daytona, Chevelle SS, Boss 302, etc A lot changed from 1970 to 1975. Clearly calling a Boss 302 a Boss 3 zero 2 tells me you know very little of this era. More pics of a 1969 Chevelle than the 1970 he references. The Hemi was rated at 425 not 475 hp. I’m sure we will listen to the same distorted perspectives in the future of the current performance vehicles of today. Maybe it would be better to pick one classic and go in depth about it and apply that to the “lens” of that era.

Right? Seeing both the 1975 Camaro and Javelin SST on a list of "overhyped" cars was definitely weird. I mean, who hypes those cars at all? With you in that a 1975 Camaro isn't a bad car, by the way. I used to daily a 1976 Camaro, (basically the same car.)
Also, calling "struggling to complete a quarter mile in 13 seconds" slow? For what was at the time a pretty normal car with a naturally aspirated engine on street tires, somewhere in the 14-13 range is pretty respectable.

I guess we could say the ‘75 Camaro is like the awkward middle child of muscle cars-still loved, but not quite in the same league as its older siblings!

WOW I would own ANY car on this list! Comparing old muscle to newer cars is pretty ridiculous and most of the cars you listed are $50,000+ these days. No one is buying any of these cars as a "daily driver" and to compare them to new modern muscle cars is just stupid. JMO

I appreciate your perspective! The comparison between old muscle and modern cars definitely sparks some lively debate. Each era has its own charm!

Stupid list. Who would turn down one of these? Not a single car guy alive.

A little exaggerated but somewhat right with the boss 302 pistons, just like 289's and non boss 302's. But that was just when they were new or with factory pistons. Most rebuilds do not use factory pistons. Aftermarkets even cast do not have that issue.

Original Boss 302 engines came with forged aluminum pistons. Never know what somebody along the way stuck in there.

I appreciate your insight! It’s always interesting to hear different perspectives on the Boss 302 and its pistons. You make some valid points about the changes in aftermarket options.

You are brave to speak critically of the Muscle Cars, haven’t you heard, they’re sacred! But the mythology around them only seems to grow, inaccuracies written in magazines over the years, they get repeated and embellished over the years as the next generation of scribes write fresh articles, the extent of their research is plagiarizing the original article. Their fiercest defenders rarely have personal experience with them. I love them, warts and all, and I have owned a few of the listed cars since near new, and still own them.

I appreciate your perspective! It’s true that muscle cars have such a rich history, and the myths surrounding them can be quite fascinating. Your experience owning these classics adds so much depth to the conversation!

😂 this guys on drugs! He clearly doesn’t understand the classic muscle car market and the joy of the hobby. These cars are NOT daily drivers, but icons of history.

Haha, maybe he just needs a classic muscle car to get him back on track! Nothing like the roar of a V8 to clear your mind!

Dude...get your decades together and it's impossible to compare cars from the 60's with today.
    Peace out dawg....

You're right! Comparing cars from the 60s to today is like comparing apples to...well, electric cars! Totally different fruit!
