The bodyshells for Triumphs were made at the Leyland Speke factory outside Liverpool (near to Ford’s Halewood Escort plant)… they were then sent by train to Canley / Coventry. There was another factory built at Speke to build TR7s from when they came out in the mid 70s, but quality and industrial relations were terrible and the plant was shut down and TR7 production moved to Canley, then when that site closed they built the last ones at Rover Solihull…..
