Ive made a few firing .22lr and 410 shells with no issues. Most important part is using barrel offcut from the real steel. The painball gun is merely just a mechanism to set the primer off. The explosion happens in the barrel so you need to use real steel barrel plus it would have the rifling already in the barrel making the gun more accurate than smooth bore. The the recoil is handled by the compressing spring that sends the plunger with modified firing pin forward to detonate the cartridge.
No I dident get hurt and the gun still works but I took it to the desert and shot it and the only bad part is it shoots powder in ur face when you shoot it

If ur still on this man tell me how u do this? And don't u ever get hurt and did the gun break after a while?
I basically just filled the bolt to a point and inserted my own barrel that would hold a 357 round snugly
