Just a reminder I will never ask you to reach out to me through Telegram or Whatsapp or anything else. If a comment or message doesn't come from one of my verified accounts IT'S NOT ME!
Okay
"Pizza" me was hoping he'd pull out that pie axe.
I sent you an email of a cursed guitar but you didn't use it lol
HAHAHA COCKATOO What a perfect edit!!!!!
Just stealing your thunder for a moment... ua-cam.com/video/CqOPkfVsoSk/v-deo.html
Even with the censorship, I still recognize the wangcaster when I see it.
It truly is a cursed image. It will never leave your mind.
It's a timeless design, much like the Les Paul or the Strat
It is truly engraved in my conscious too.
I don't wanna see it.
@@svenjansen2134 you've already seen it in your minds eye. It's already there, worming its way out of the black part of your brain.
5:53 I read the thread on this guitar. It's actually really cool, it was a test bed for making an electric citar. He was trying out different things for sympathetic strings before building a real version.
Wut, i saw it several times, but never heard the story! Could you provide the source, in case you have it?
Yeah I def wanna read this, can you post the link? I've seen that guitar around for ages, I'd love to know the story.
If anything that just makes it even more cursed; an experimental failure that was long forgotten after the conception of its more successful younger iteration.
Or just makes it more like a normal older sibling idk
@@jabelsjabels @Артемий Румянцев sorry guys I don't have a link. It was at least 6 years ago I read this. Quite sure I found it while researching citar bridges.
looks like a noise project guitar with drone strings
That cockatoo line was perfect 😆
Classic move 😂😂😂
the tele with the three sets of outputs and control panels was a real thing back in ''the day'' called a ''payola'' mod, it was more for three different recordings not tones, you made more money off more tracks recorded and in the early analog days of recording three lines out means three paydays., hence the nickname ''payola mod'' and it was more common than you think.
Nailed it
Hey if it's good enough for Bruce Springstein
That's a stroke of genius
That house isn't dilapidated, it's relic'd.
The vibrato on the 12 string is not a Floyd Rose, it's a Don Ramsay Linear Tremolo, and it is perfect for this case because instead of pivoting it slides, so the 12 strings stay the same distance from the fretboard and pickups. It's less of a dive-bomb vibrato and more like a bigsby with elegant control. The guitar is made by Michael Spalt, a world-class guitar maker and I'm sure it plays great. So, sorry Samurai you're wrong about this one.
Thanks Aurelius, but I don't think he would fully understand or appreciate how different this is from a Floyd. Maybe he should ask the "self loathing" customer " who first conceived of the idea and ordered it as a custom build: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Cale, or his guitarist: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dustin_Boyer
That's a lot of words for saying you own at least 6 fedoras
@@jbstratman damn bro, calm down, Cale isn't going to fuck you
I stand corrected, it might only take a normal lengthed weekend to change the strings 🤣
@@dokcso w comment
I was totally expecting you to have pulled the Pizza Hut guitar out from under your desk at the end.
Tying on strings as frets is actually a thing. That was how it was done for lutes and early guitars, and is still done for many lutes. It has some advantages, such as you can reposition the frets to adjust the tuning to be more in tune than the usual equal temperament for the key the piece is in. Classical guitarist and lutist Brandon Acker has some recent videos on his channel where plays around with tied string frets on a modern classical guitar. Here's the first: ua-cam.com/video/tiKCORN-6m8/v-deo.html
The classical guitar with pickups; nylon strings won't work, nor will the tiny amount of nickel on the wound nylon strings actually work with a magnetic pickup.
Ernie Ball made steel core classical strings to respond to magnetic pickups
But I am thinking that that "whammy bar" might apply enough leverage to the bridge to deform it enough to get some kind of vibrato effect out of it. If you got too carried away you might just snap the bridge right out of the thing! lol
@@xanataph That was my reaction as well. Similar to getting vibrato by pulling on the neck of the guitar, but probably more risky.
If we're talking about the guitar at 6:26, those aren't nylon strings. Look at the ball ends. They're probably some variety of D'Addario electric strings. And the trem on it should work. If you get a bit of vibrato from waving the neck about, the wiggling the bridge should be even better. Not sure how long the glue is going to hold, though.
Maybe the key to your Pizza Hut guitar problem is that you DO need to buy it, and mod it! 👀
Not gonna lie, I was hoping he was going end that story with "so I bought it" and take out the guitar.
Ive tried! They are impossible to find
@@samuraiguitarist any idea of price range? I don't want it but I need to know
Hey Sammi, nobody out-plays the Hut, eh?
@@samuraiguitarist KEEP TRYING!!!! 😂 Edited to add that I have now subscribed just waiting to see this happen.
Knowing Sammy G, right before the 3:23 mark, I could sense there'd be some kind of cut in the video. But that seamless transition was amazing. Also, eagles are in fact pretty cool.
The 'Cock' guitar - if it was a bass then I know who made it. A guitar luthier friend was asked by a punk rock bassist to make it but when he arrived to pick it up he payed for it but refused to take it. It was in the front window of the music shop for a while before people complained and no idea what happened to it after that. He did add "Its only small as its modelled of my own."
3:30 tbh so far these are the only ones that are reasonably priced 😭 I can at least actually see where the price comes from, since they're hand-carved i.e. I know lots of labor was put into them. (hell even a higher price's be reasonable probs) Op's style is a bit too much for me personally but now I wanna go and look up guitars with shallower carvings bc the idea itself is really neat.
"There's a 'pizza' me that thinks that I need to be a little more behaved..."
Didn't think anyone would notice, did you?
At one time the Stratocaster was considered a “weird” instrument and in the future these guitars could be considered “normal”
Ah yes, the Cockcaster- the instrument of the 22nd century musical revolution
Not sure on the level of cursed it is, but my main guitar is a Monster Energy Stratocaster - a Squier HSS Bullet Strat with a huge vinyl decal on the front, featuring the big claw-y M. Its origin is apparently a Circle-K giveaway in Canada, where they gave out 11 of them in 2013-2014; I found mine in a pawn shop in Oregon. It's pretty good for what it is. Monster have branded a number of other guitars over the years - I've seen a standard Strat, an Epiphone LP, and a bunch from Schecter - but you'll still occasionally see some DIY monstrosity like the acoustic that's been spray-painted matte black and had stickers slathered over it.
Aw, my heart's breaking over that Framus. I got my dad's '64 when he passed, that guitar is in a realm of its own, its a once-in-a-lifetime sorta' instrument.
When SammyG thinks you've gone too far, then you know it's true.
6:45 No, you see, Sir Sammy G, this trem arm works completely differently than how a normal one does. Instead of actuating the tilt of a spring loaded floating bridge, this instead provides leverage to bend the flexible thin wood that it's mounted to! Perfectly genius.
I have a guitar that hopefully is going to be* a cursed guitar. It's some kind of old Ibanez (I am pretty sure) that I found on a bonfire pile at a Scout Camp. Obviously, the pile hadn't been set ablaze at this point. There is no hardware, but there is a body and a neck. However, someone has put crosses in the inlays and the head stock is broken off and missing.
The idea is to just put some kind of metal plate at the end of the neck that the strings can fasten to & then do some kind of Steinberger type bridge on it or possibly do that BC Rich Bitch style thing where there are tuners on the body end after the bridge. I do have an old Kahler trem bridge that might have enough play in the fine tuning to allow them to be used as the actual tuners, so could use that.
*It doesn't count as a cursed gat at present as there is not enough of it to be classed as a guitar. lol
This! This is the best video format for you dude, seriously the most enjoyment. The other videos are awesome but this and weird gadgets is tops in my opinion dude.
The Gibson Mod Shop converted a Firebird into a twelve string… but it’s a Firebird with a vibrato… so six of the strings are on that, and the other six are … in an extra hardtail piece from the double neck model that they slapped on the bottom end of the body… so half the strings will be forever out of tune.
Love the one you have for the thumbnail with all the extra strings and springs, it totally looks like the sort of thing me and my friends would make
The clay guitars looked like the Necronomicon from The Evil Dead. Definitely cursed.
first time I've heard Klimt referred to as "tacky". that said the guitar was obviously not designed by klimt
I moved to florida from oklahoma over a decade ago, and I think I know what it is.
There's not really any more weird stuff going on at once here than there is in any podunk town
out in the boonies, but there are news vans EVERYWHERE!
It's not that it's that much worse, it's just that you actually hear about it.
So, as a person who lives in Florida and has worked for years in the news, Florida doesn't have laws restricting information about people who have been arrested. So, we can report names and pictures, which adds to the stories. Insane stuff happens everywhere, but in Florida, there are faces and names to go with the stories.
Those carved ones look like bloody strumming knuckles waiting to happen
Can’t wait for the Pizza Hut guitar video… series…
Heyo SammyG! Congrats on 1M subs thats so cool😎 Keep up the fuego content brother man
Please tell me, the vein-laden, 'neck,' is on a P-BASS
5:52 What? That's my dream guitar. The tonal opportunities boggle the imagination.
From the thumbnail pic I thought he was going to rag on Japanese noise artist Solmania, since it looked similar to some of Masahiko Ohno's early modified guitars from the 90s.
I've actually been to that house in Fayetteville Ga. Year's ago. Awesome Video and I'm so surprised to see that house here.
Seeing the neck at 0:42... does anyone remember the vinyl cover (or maybe inner cover) of Steppenwolf's "For Ladies Only" album? Not a guitar, but truly bizarre. 🙂
Nice plug, great transition
Great stuff, Sammy G! I haven't wanted to smash a guitar for some time, but after seeing some of those...
The most annoying guitar maintenance task I've encountered was getting the loose jack input out of my semi-hollowbody guitar through the f-hole and trying to screw it in....
And you should buy the pizza hut guitar now
I use a stereo jack to output each pickup separately. IIRC some old Rickenbacker guitars had a similar wiring.
The transition from the wangcaster to you saying cockatoos was immaculate lol
7:25 - article title on right, crust punk, lol legit hilarious.
Man, I'd be down for a 12-string with an actual Floyd Rose 😀
I can get behind the carved guitars, but their picking hand comfort is probably the worst.
The multi string guitar would be a great idea for experimenting with sympathetic resonance. Now if only it didn't have all that unnecessary decoration and OH GOD I JUST REALIZED IT'S AN EXPLORER TYPE GUITAR WITH THE TOP HORN SEWN OFF!!!
The veiny guitar neck, the Wangcaster, the bass with the multiple switches, the paddle Les Paul and the classical with the vibrato and pickups, are all a clear case of "DIWhyTho?".
The Pizza Hut guitar thing was hilarious 🤣
Hi man, I just wanna say I've been watching your videos for quite some time and you've inspired me to create a channel of my own doing guitar related content. I hope to one day be able to create as interesting content as you do and some how create a living off of my passion... guitar! keep up the great work!
The worst part of the whammy classical guitar is the presence of magnetic pickups. Always amazed at how many people don't seem to get that you have to move metal strings around in a magnetic field to make sound come out of the pickups. The wound bass strings on a classical would make a little bit of sound; the rest would be silent...
Seriously though, I would want the pizza guitar if it didn't have olives on it. Ruined.
5:02 hahahahah GOLD! Almost didn't catch it
Would love to see you talk about the Verso Cosmo as part of your weird guitar series!!
3:20 Flawless transition
1:55 this design is inspired by the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. He is very famous for his involvement with the austrian Art Nouveau movement around 1900 and for this movement the famous secession building in Vienna was build.
I dunno, the first one looks kind of cool. But I have a thing for guitars with natural finishes and I still wouldn't pay 1/100th of the price.
Hey Sammy I helped a buddy of mine build a deck in a weekend so I have to agree with you I ended up taking my 12-string to a loser to get it restrung and found out the bridge saddle was cracked and got that replaced so it probably worked out the best that way
That nylon acoustic with a pitch lever made me laugh so much 😂🤣
This was soo much fun! Nice work
Yeah that's not an arm
Exactly
love these type of videos
omg, I think I found out about your channel through the Pizza Guitar articles way back then.
I was super waiting for the John Oliver switch with the pizza guitar. "In said I bought this guitar, but I didn't....except I totally did! And here it is!"
3:18 that one took me so far beyond laughing I was basically just making bird noises.
You must know my exact sense of humour or something
Teal is a wonderful colour.
Ok so the Florida thing: basically, Florida has pretty lax laws about what can be broadcast or reported on. Shit that crazy happens everywhere but we hear about it most from Florida because there are less rules about reporting on weird shit
I've never strung up a 12-string, but I stay my case that the most annoying maintenance thing as a guitarist is polishing frets
1:48 Now, I'm not saying that this is from my hometown, but in North Charleston South Carolina, the Guitar Center is right next door to a Michaels. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
You should check out this band from the early 90's called the Heevils. They made several interesting guitars. There's a Clitar, A guitube, and several others. Very interesting I will say. But worth looking them up to check out their guitars.
That cutaway into the eagle guitar was perfect.
0:44 good save Sam
Those are cool! I won't mind getting one. Thanks for this amazing content 😁
A cat i knew named predice hendricks indeed did invent a useable working wigglestick system for acoustics. Lost track of him years ago Sami but i bet google would find him.
The veiny guitar gave me like, a visceral reaction of disgust
The "A R M" guitar is something that looks like it's taken straight from a fever dream.
6:23 its funny you should say that. My brother just happens to have a bass from a dead relative who made it out of a canoe paddle.
The puns in this video made the dad part of my brain smile.
There’s one of those rashi king guitars in my home town, I thinks it’s the one he showed on reverb and I was blown away at the price when I saw the “guitar”. All I could think was how? Lmao
I don't remember the last time I had such a fun time watching a youtube video. Thanks Sammy!
I actually really like the three in one Telecaster. Really cool idea.
You finally got back onto my recommended page!
Just wanna say, You have amazing vids, and as a poor african child with a peice of scrap wood, you inspire me to play
"No one needs to do that". I suddenly want to do it.
The thumbnail Iceman thing looked sorta steampunk cool to me
I thought it was an early modified guitar of Japanese noise artist Solmania.
As a native Floridian of 30 years. Even I don't know what's going on...Mom come pick me up I'm scared..
Oh my god haha
The twelve string Floyd rose part was the most Canadian/Midwestern thing I've ever heard hahaha
5:53 almost looks like the prototype for Steve Vai's Hydra
That 12 string floyd rose is even more asinine once you consider the difficulty involved in intonating a floyd rose. It's literally going to be an all-day kind of project, won't be getting it done in less than a weekend.
That last part is emblematic of the utter paucity of quality in “journalism” these days.
I remember Ronnie Wood played a toilet seat shaped electric guitar, complete with a hanging length of toilet paper. It was shown on a TV performance of The Faces 1971 recording, Bad 'n' Ruin. Back then there were some rules about live performances on some British music shows where an audience were in the studio. The featured bands had to mime, or play along to a pre recorded version for the show. Some bands would swap their usual instruments, or act about, so it was obvious they weren't actually performing it live.
Knew I should have taken a picture of it but I saw a hollow body cut open with switches with built in pedals and boost inside the guitar
hey Sammy, have you ever seen the Epiphone Airscreamer guitar? It's an old signature guitar that they somehow didn't sell too many of, wonder why that's the case
Whos signature is that???
For a moment I thought this was going to include one of my End of the Road extreme relics - cursed by the devil!
How do you loose a canoe paddle Upstream? Do you remember captain canoe head? He had an aluminum canoe welded to his head by lightning while portageing lol
I love getting to see what people think of to make a guitar look like. Yea they may be ugly but how did the beautiful guitars come from.
I've always had a weird interest in promotional guitars, I almost bought a beer can shaped Budweiser guitar at a flea market a few years ago.
I love the "Look! Gibson makes a reverse, reverse flying V!"
Dang. I was SOOOO looking forward to watching you play the triple P. (= promotional pizza paddle) ;-)
Maybe the company mentioned (or their advertising firm) can find one spare model and give it to you.
(You can even claim it's a "reverse body" and hang it with the rV and the rStrat)...
Thanks Sammy G for making me chuckle in the morning...
He just bought the pizza, not the pizza guitar.
That last part is the best troll I’ve ever seen.
Gotta play the Bachman Turner Overdrive parody "Takin' Care of Pizza" from the Napoleon Dynamite animated show on the Pizza Hut guitar
I was really waiting for you to pull out the pizza guitar under the table in the end!
I had a Transparent Red Jackson that was possessed. I sold it across the COUNTRY on eBay.
Can someone fill me in on what sucks about stringing a floyd rose?
(Unfortunately have never owned a guitar with a whammy bar/tone arm)
6:44 do we talk about how little to no sound nylon strings do to a pickup? :D
6:39 No, I'm pretty sure that works. If waving the neck around creates some vibrato, imagine what wiggling the bridge would do.
Lovin the dad jokes, Sammy G!
Florida and Texas. It's the heat. Fries your brain.
