What I’ve realized is that each person has a different story, different experience and different perspectives about each country. Awesome video, as usual 👏 😎
Main reason for individual differences in the Black experience in Korea is that the Korean society as a whole has not had a history of a particular institutionalized attitude towards African people. As a result, the individual Korean is more free to create his own independent and individual attitude towards the African according said individual Korean life experience.

Yes, everything isn't about race but let's also acknowledge that black people have trauma and in the US so much trauma over generations - they are inserted almost neck deep in race so that's all they are trained to see. Having said that, they are really encouraged to take great effort to cleanse and heal themselves as much as possible of those issues and distortions. Getting out of the US usually allows for you to begin that psychological healing ---- so, when they travel they can enjoy the experience in the highest capacity. Most people are really nice every where you go and even if someone is rude. A. It's not going to feel as unwelcoming as in the US, B. You're going to be so happy to be traveling and exploring that no one can really ruin your day if anything were to crop up. Most countries are much safer than the US and the populations for the most part are more educated and nurtured by their governments so a lot less people fall into crime.
What this sister needs to realize is that black people are the most spiritual and amazing people on the planet that's why you feel you have so much power don't forget that. In South Africa the apartheid system and the nasty racism caused black people to feel lower than dirt. It's a very fresh feeling when you're appreciated somewhere else.

Yes, I LOVE We Brought A Zoo! That is a great quote. This interview was a great value of my time. Passion... Pride...Purpose... great job on both ends.
Well Ranzo you have found another gem. Zizi possesses the same positive and energetic aura as Mr. Q. Both Zizi and Mr. Q allow their light to shine through. I would love to be in their presence and to be bathed by their exuberance for life and living. Today is the first time I truly understand the phrase, "Jesus is the Light of the world." When I observe Mr. Q and Zizi, I see their light and I would love to be in their presence to be washed by their light. The children in the school (not the bad school)she teaches see her light, the new student eventually saw it and wanted to be close to it, hence she is the first to hug her. It's their way of saying, we want what you have to be infused in us. Let your soul touch my soul. The thing about both Mr. Q and Zizi is they are not fake. I agree with her phrase about "20 seconds of crazy courage..", I do practice that but I fall short of the aura. I got to work on the "light" part.
What a fresh perspective to look at the power of being different! There are soooo many videos on YT that focus so heavily on the downsides of being a foreigner (more specifically, being black or mixed race) in Korea yet neglect to look at the fact that ignorance/racism/colourism also exist back home & in some cases worse
Am not sure how I missed this episode but thank you for this one. Glad you finally managed to interview my fellow South African. I love what she said about South Africa being beautiful(it's true) but there being a bigger world out there, hence am moving to either Japan or Singapore soon 🤗 I'd also like to point out that it's NOT all South Africa where there's racism, I feel bad for her that she experienced racism here and because of her surname I assume she's from Durban, but she could also be from Johannesburg (where am from) and yes some people there can be racist against blacks but it's mostly isolated cases. Cape Town is the most racist in the country, we even call it a country in a country😃 Some rural areas in South Africa, especially in the farms, there's racism against black people, we SOMETIMES see it reported in the news. In summary & IN MY OPINION & EXPERIENCE, Racism in South Africa is mostly internal & Indirect than external (physical) & direct. Racist people don't necessarily or always say bad things to you directly but in certain cases they do. In some companies they'll make you feel that you are black by their actions, weather corporate or not (I've seen that in my line of duty as an external auditor, auditing different companies, especially small to medium ones). I have personally NOT experienced direct racism but have seen some black people not being treated well by their opposite race counterparts (could be white, Indian, even coloured people), but am seeing more positive and unity by day and as I've mentioned before, direct racism cases in South Africa are minimal and mostly isolated. Media always shows bad but there's certainly more good happening here between black people and other races In the country. THAT'S MY EXPERIENCE & OPINION. Maybe other South Africans can tell their side of experience of racism here at home. Thank you Ranzo for this great interview once more, she's amazing. I Love her😗 and pray that she continues to shine as she is already shining. I love both of your positive energy & mindset and great positive outlook of life, I don't like negativity in any way myself. Blessings, Peace Love and Light to you all 🤗💜
This was such a nice interview. It's amazing that although she is speaking English, her accent/pronunciation of words and mannerisms remind me so much of Koreans! I wonder if she is still in Korea.
Another tremendous video Ranzo. Your work will surely stir many to action. As you are aware humans are taugh to see each other as enemies and its not restricted to any race. There are global cultures which demonize other cultures perpetually. So in all cultures dark is projected as bad etc....people just need to check the dictionaries and see that light/white is defined in positive way while dark as negative. I am saying that the problem goes beyond a persons background since even in India the lowest casts in Gujarat are not black people just the indians with the generally darkest complexion. Similarly to the darkest people in Philippines, or anywhere else. People must understand that the tendency for humans to divide is rooted in what we have lost as Myles Munroe eloquently described. Mankind has taken the path of division rather than the path of Oneness that the Creator of all intended. Hence this is at the heart of all our problems on the planet. This proclivity to divide goes much deeper than race which is explain why humans keep dividing everything including as many would say "why bring religion into this". My question is why separate it?. The reason why humans separate thing is down to our state of existence...man has chosen division rather than unity. This validates Bob Marleys work of unity....His work was one of unity and hence the powers that be understands the power of his work and sought to stop the unstoppable, but I digressed. Enough said on this topic. As Bob would sing "we have so much things to say right now!"
Hey, Ranzo. Your videos are so very helpful. Thank you so much for this sneak peek into asian culture through melanated eyes. I'm seriously considering moving to Japan, and recently came across your website and saw that you held s vacation giveaway contest for 2019. Will you be doing something similar for 2020?
For all the ignorant people listening to this: there is another interview by a black woman in Korea--conducted by the exact interviewer and she speaks of Koreans loving Black culture without the black people in it!!!!! So please do your research and get a big picture with diverse perspectives.
I find it really frustrating when people frame black people analyzing systemic issues and calling them out as "playing the victim". I've worked in several countries and my race is seen very differently in each place. Racism is everywhere and I've had incredible experiences despite that but pretending the racism didn't exist doesn't help. If you don't call it out it can't be worked on or fixed.
I found it frustrating that she says we should "do something special" to show other people what one can do as a black person rather than just "shouting and screaming" lol...how invalidating to those who continue to fight for us globally, and have been the driving force that the world needs to change. She literally comes from South Africa, where people had to protest against apartheid, shouting and screaming in the streets. It's strange that she thinks we have to do something extraordinary, besides fighting against racism, to prove that we are have value.

Same, Although I must say that this is my favourite video that she’s been in so far
What a wonderful, lovely inspiring woman. A joy to listen to Zizi's story 👍🏾
Though I am a south asian, I am more darker in skin color. I am so humiliated just because my skin color. And i am having plans to do my higher studies in south korea. But when i searched for more details i heard it is bit difficult there for dark skinned people. So i was bit disappointed like "should i look for another country?". But this video really console me. Thank you for posting this. Thank you both very much. This lady makes me relaxed.
Was also about to put off moving to SK but this is nice man, Will be moving soon 😊

My favourite interview from you by far!
This was an interesting perspective, great to see her looking so full of life it is encouraging :)
She said exactly what I’ve been saying ! >___<
Nice to meet her on UA-cam!
Korean people are really kind!
Am not sure how I missed this episode but thank you for this one. Glad you finally managed to interview my fellow South African. I love what she said about South Africa being beautiful(it's true) but there being a bigger world out there, hence am moving to either Japan or Singapore soon 🤗
I'd also like to point out that it's NOT all South Africa where there's racism, I feel bad for her that she experienced racism here and because of her surname I assume she's from Durban, but she could also be from Johannesburg (where am from) and yes some people there can be racist against blacks but it's mostly isolated cases. Cape Town is the most racist in the country, we even call it a country in a country😃
Some rural areas in South Africa, especially in the farms, there's racism against black people, we SOMETIMES see it reported in the news.
Blessings, Peace Love and Light to you all 🤗💜
I like her positivity!
This was such a nice interview. It's amazing that although she is speaking English, her accent/pronunciation of words and mannerisms remind me so much of Koreans! I wonder if she is still in Korea.
Love her attitude. God bless.
I am loving your content so so much! 🖤
The way she thinks is beautiful. More and more sistas need to think like her.
Good video bro, Afro Latino from Miami.
We got all nationalities in Miami. Imma start interacting with Koreans when they come here so they can change their perspective on black people
Nice one..... Singapore is till the best with deecee
Kone Metongara Don’t sleep on Taiwan. Trusss
Agree so much with her thoughts! We seek validation from others way too much. We have to value ourselves more.
This woman is a Korean in black skin, even her round face looks more of an Korean.
"Mentally emancipation...." hit it on the nail
False narrative.
Zizi has such a good spirit about her....
This is my favorite interview ^_^
A wonderful conversation! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Loved this!
Hey, Ranzo. Your videos are so very helpful. Thank you so much for this sneak peek into asian culture through melanated eyes.
I'm seriously considering moving to Japan, and recently came across your website and saw that you held s vacation giveaway contest for 2019. Will you be doing something similar for 2020?
Another South African 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Wasn’t she also on another Korean UA-cam channel? Or am I bugging 😂
shakira yes she has your not the only one 😂
Korean Studio- black slang
I think
lounic0216 yup, she featured on a few of their videos
I tell my grown daughters all the time, dont ever make it necessary for someone else to make you feel worthy!!
For all the ignorant people listening to this: there is another interview by a black woman in Korea--conducted by the exact interviewer and she speaks of Koreans loving Black culture without the black people in it!!!!! So please do your research and get a big picture with diverse perspectives.
She has a very positive attitude. I really like South Africans.
She seemed to project negative views on her own people while only positivity for others. Young mind.
Exactly! Pointing our systemic issues doesn’t mean playing the issues. “Emancipate your mind”, yeah, but you can emancipate a racist system
