SNFU Inspired me to believe i could join my first band in '84 (Pressure Group) our first show was opening for Toronto hardcore band HYPE, on my 14th birthday! Ten or so days later we got the opening spot for triple bill; Pressure Group, HYPE, & S.N.F.U. Sept 3 '85 I'll never forget it. Thanks for everything guys
this was around the same time I seen them for the first time in Edmonton , been a fan since .Never been to a SNFU show without being in the pit last time I seen them was at the 30th anniversary show in 2015 was 48 years old in that pit
Thanks so much for this. I came of age in Edmonton and saw SNFU in this era probably 100 times. Spent a rainy night with Ken and Muc & others playing the rough mixes for Fish over and over again. I missed the Brains, I missed the Flag, I missed so many bands but at least I got this little chunk.
Thank you so very much for this upload and the awesomness of bands like SNFU this time, that took a big part in making me what i am today: A strong and happy person. Please share and reshare this masterpiece of Punk Rock History, so it can never ever get lost. Thank you Sohrab. :*
They opened for the Meatmen at the 9:30 right before this. I remember Chi Pig was drawing cartoons on records they were selling. Thanks for posting this.
Bad Brains' fast songs makes lots of music seem like slow motion, including some of their own. But, as one friendly internet person to another, comments are more appreciated when they are relevant. Meantime all the PMA I can muster to you and yours . . .
@@TheShaneBot I agree. I saw both bands back in the day and a comparison is stupid, they were both incredible. I wasn't at this show but I did catch them when they played at the 9:30
The best SNFU line up of all time.
R.i.p. Chi.

I was at this show. What a memory. Mind blown to find a video of it. Thanks for that.
Pretty sure I was at it too. Didn't Gang Green also play?

One of the best live bands…ever!
I booked a show for snfu in the early 90’s. Mr. Chi Pig was such a fun dude.
Fantastic footage! Just how I remembered them. Intense live shows.
Eeeeexcellent. One of their peaks!
Holy shit I was at this show! I still have the SNFU shirt I bought there (now 3 sizes too small). This is amazing man..
Best hardcore live band. Greeted from west berlin.
At their best back than, great energy!
Great video. Thanks for posting. Saw them many times since 1985. Cheers from Nova Scotia 🇨🇦
RIP KEN CHINN THANK YOU FOR DECADES OF PUNK ROCK

This is amazing. Thank you for sharing!!!
Back then, I had hair. 🙂👍
R.I.P, Mr. Chi.
Thanks @Sohrab I've always had wanted to see them when they toured thru DC but never made it. This makes up for it.

RIP CHI
What a frontman!
Rip Mr Chi 😔
Chi piges my génération HC the best...OK.. im 54years old.
fkn sweet
Pretty sure I was at this show. I think at least Gang Green and also Law of Fives played and I thought flipper did as well.
Yes, Law of Fives and Gang Green were on the bill. Almost positive Flipper was a different show. Also at WUST, but not the same night.
@@habibion Interesting. I have this recollection of Flipper playing as a "special guest" that night. The singer was on crutches.
@@michaelpowell9608 Maybe so! It's quite possible I've forgotten or I left right after SNFU-I was only 16 and likely had homework to do. Haha.
With Flipper, somebody's always has crutches, eye patches, casts, something.
"Mr" Chi Pig
If I recall correctly, that was before SUICIDAL TENDENCIES. Gang Green played as well that evening.
RIP Chi Pig!
13:22, that's not the incident where he cracked his skull, right? Must have been later. He does seem a bit groggy after the collision though.
Bad Brains makes these guys look like slow motion
