The buzz from that beer is so nice. Other beers get me sloppy. Every time I drink Voodoo Ranger it tastes like its the first beer I've ever had.

One of my go-to craft brews. I think its 9% and 70 IBUs. So, more on the sweet side. Very malty, hoppy, and yeasty. I give it 95/100 Solid A. Imperial IPAs are fewer and farther between than IPAs. The market is so flooded and full of IPAs that, if you had maybe 5..you've had 80% of the ones out there. Imperial IPAs, they do stand out and..have uniqueness to them. Cheers!

I started with the sweetwater 420 brand when I started drinking beer. Once I tasted the Voodoo imperial, I've never bought anything else. It's everything I've ever wanted in a beer.

This is one of my top 5 IPAs. I like a more malty IPA anyway and the gravity helps
The first Double IPA is often attributed to Vinnie Cilurzo while at Blind Pig Brewery in Temecula, California. Russia never made Imperial Indian Pale Ales but the name Imperial was taken from the Russian strong beers like the stout. Imperial IPA is now listed as Style 22A Double IPA, a subcategory of Category 22 Strong American Ale which includes modern American strong ales with a varying balance of malt and hops.

@@CheapBrewReview I honestly didn't mind it. It wasn't as strong or robust as I was expecting. A little bitter at the very beginning but goes away quickly. Good flavor overall. I Couldn't taste the alcohol.
I absolutely love the buzz it gave me though. It felt like a warm hug the entire time 😂

Well 4.74 is a tad high in my opinion for these, but the price point is comprehensive when compared to most high octane IPA's. This is the first time I came across one of your reviews, and I subscribed immediately after viewing it. I agree about this beer's similarities to some Canadian malt liquors. I plan on looking at your other reviews. My top IPA's are Sixpoint Brewery Resin DIPA and Flying Dog Brewery Double Dog IPA. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

this was my first ipa, didn't love it, didn't hate it, probably wont buy it again (my dad said it tastes like a christmas tree that a cat pissed on lol). now it should be noted that i never looked at the ABV, so i got the bright idea that i would kill my last 3 in a single night just to get rid of them and make room in the fridge for something else.... i dont like being drunk in general, i REALLY hate being IPA drunk.

Bell's Two Hearted Ale was my first IPA & now that's I've had roughly 30 different brands of IPA's ... I'd suggest trying Lagunitas IPA....Fat Heads Head Hunter IPA

A proper score sir. Drank my first last night and is by a Texas mile my fav. Has a cedar tree, green flavor. I'd have rated it a 5.

Not a big New Belgium fan but I’m a tall bald guy, 😂 So I like the Voodoo Ranger series.
Since you are on the IPA kick at the moment may I recommend anything by Sweetwater or Terrapin Brewing companies.
Not a bad brew at all. Other good Imperials are Big Ballard (Red Hook) and Deadlift IPA (Widmer Bros).

Imperial IPAs are a strong condensed version of a regular IPA. if you're new to IPAs start with a session beer like Founders All Day IPA, or a Sierra Nevada pale ale, or Sweetwater 420, not this beer

I like beer that tastes like beer. I guess that's what I never liked about IPA...most of the ones I've tried just tasted like fruit mash. If I wanted fruity...I'd stick with vodka and OJ.
I agree. I can drink IPA's, but I prefer malty brews from Germany. Or some Belgian styles.

Yeah I love voodoo ranger and I'm not a big IPA guy. But those bare-knuckle fighters used to have that stance so that they can cover easier because a lot of times they would break their hand on the other guy's face so not a lot of headshots were done they would do mostly body shots and cover-up

The Imperial IPA, in a glass, cold. Isn't that bad. Any spin-off of VooDoo Ranger actually tastes like puke. The only reason to buy this is because it's 9%

SOLID SCORE....i go same score as you 4.7/5 ....... but that's personal preference... don't ever go 5 on a score ... that means no other beer in the world will be able to beat that beer you just scored, unless you find a beer that made you have the feeling of 'busting a wad in your pants while getting smacked in the face with gorgeous supple titties' ... than that's a 5/5 review... ...... it took me a while to grow into IPA's , but now i respect and love IPA's so much ... and i hated IPA's before .... it's a really weird..it's an aquired taste... but after a 'minute' , you start loving IPA's more and more... their is a distinct bite you start to grow into and really only gets better ...thats when you start to truly taste the IPA and hops in their own right ..... that bite subsides and you really start to taste the flavor.... but, like i said ... it's personal preference... that is just my experience from hating IPA's to the point where i give each IPA a try ... truly great stuff... lager's now taste like water to me... and i was a GO-TO Lager guy... it's really weird how your taste buds change and adapt and start to appreciate certain different things...

Recently I read a review that ruined this one for me. I never noticed the strong alcohol taste until reading that review. Drinking it rn and it strongly reminds me of 🫣 Natty Daddy 🥴. I'll still drink it, but similar beer that is better (if you can get it) is Sweetwater 420 Imperial IPA.
