Just noticed the Ghost as small eyebrows (?) showing emotion or strain while when the Hollow Knight ahows up and rolls it doesn’t have any. I’m just saying the Ghost was in the pile of rejects for emotions while the Hollow Knight got his role by hiding his emotions. Regardless in the end this animations is Nice 👌
wrong, pale king did not throw all the kids down, the fell, so basicly who ever made up the climb to the PK they were chosen worthy, mossbags updated and revised lorre video makes more sense of it
Me silently dying on the inside because The Hollow Knight is the one that feels emotions and The Knight is the one that doesn’t feel emotions, the whole point of the non secret ending of the game is literally that that makes The Knight a suitable vessel and he needs to replace The HK. (I didn’t say this to be a critic, I just have OCD and needed to get this off my chest)
1:12 the Dreamers have gotten tired of Monomon correcting every little mistake,so they pushed her down hill. Herrah and Lurien fall,and end up rolling down the hill with Monomon.

That is why in the end, the one on the left turns into the hollow knight and the one the right turns into... You Dare. YOU DARE!
At first I thought he was tumbling down and couldn't stop, but around the 1:30 mark, I realised it's a controlled decent. He's kicking off, spinning and catching himself. I don't know why but I love this detail
I love how the knight gradually learns to control the roll! Like it starts as panicked fumbling, and then they’re doing acrobatic stunts. Beautiful work you made here!
Oh wow. I laughed because I thought this was funny before I remembered just how dark the game is. Whenever I noticed that THK wasn't showing any emotion like Ghost was in this animation it made me extremely sad, remembering that they had to suppress their emotions and keep from emoting so they wouldn't be thrown down into the abyss with their less fortunate siblings. And ghost! How long did they spend down in the abyss? They must've been trapped in there for ages before they found an exit. It's shameful how the Pale King just discarded his children like that. I should go to sleep..
He was desperate. He was besieged on all sides by a force he couldn't combat. So he turned to the one sure thing he had. The progeny to be. How could he know his goal was doomed from the start by the very methods he used to try and succeed? I think those discarded children were not resentful, but mournful they could not live up to his expectations. That they could not lift the despair from him. And perhaps he knew this. A terrible burden indeed. We can see he did bear some affection for them in his memory. How oppressive his own fear and guilt must have been, especially at the end.

The work put into those paintings from 1:50 to 2:20 is absolutely amazing! They look so beautiful and have such an amazing atmosphere to them, that shot of Ghost looking up to the top of the Abyss and the stained glass mural are both stunning. The amount of love and care put into this animation is amazing.

Honestly I loved this so much. The detail of strain being showed, expecially since the Knight is a impure vessel, mainly because they have a will to live. And just in total this is a beautiful piece. As you said in your discription, was there things to improve? Oh always, even high end production artists have room to improve, but that did not take away from the amazing piece.

i am, it's been about two months since i started my last project. I tend to work in bursts in the beginning and get really tired of it near the end, so it takes quite a while for me to actually make longer (1+ minute) animations
That part with the other two vessels almost made me cry. Knowing your siblings have came back by the same decire to do the right thing and being able to see their faces again. The happiness that you feel might only be drowned by the fact they are death. That is if you had feeling to begging with.
