Bro today i called an authorized store to see if the a6 was 99 dollars, the guy told me it was 150 and the offer was over. . So i looked at the website and it still said 99 dollars!! So i called another metro store about 10 minutes from me and i asked and he told me it was 99 dollars!! Do your research people!! These metro stores are shady!!! Vincent From NJ!!!
The A6 isn't 99 and it is 150, although it is only 150 with a port
Not all stores are the same. Some might change , some might not.
Vincent D authorized retailers run different then corporate stores...
We got three stores down here and there all have e different prices

You were not doing anyone a favor by not saying what store for public knowledge
I used to work for a metro dealer for 2 years. I would go to a corporate store or go to a dealer with terms and conditions in hand. Usually dealers like to add the highest rate plan, insurance, and accessory bundles into a single phone price. The phone price could also be much higher because you're only eligible for the promo price every few months. Just read the few paragraphs under the website deals and be careful of sneaky employees.
*In Soviet Russia, the phone scams you*
I work at a corporate location. I would agree with you. We deal with a lot of blowback from certain dealers
This happened to me for the stylo 4
I went to 2 stores and one it was $125 for 2 account it was like $252 then i went to a different store and it was $80 for 2 accounts i was like damn
I got ripped off this is b******* I got the same phone and I spent over 200
Xtro l I’ve know some MetroPcs give you a certain number but they have it bundle with accessories and the plan maybe that’s the price they were giving you but every metro is different
I'm a Metro employee. Sadly, some authorized dealers have unscrupulous employees that know the customers sometimes don't read the plans, their receipts, or do simple math to check on what they're paying for. Metro is very plain in their plans, and the phone prices are very prominently posted. Its pretty much the easiest company to deal with, no hidden fees.
On another note, the dealer likely misquoted the price of the iPhone XR on a ported number, which IS $599. The 6sPlus is only $299 on an upgrade, not $599, which is directly right next to the price card on the display, so any easy oversight.
To say its a scam is reaching. More likely a misinformed rep giving the wrong info. To say he wasn't well trained is liklely. But everyone should know Metro by TMobile is all about simplicity. You get a phone, you pay the plan and the activation/switch fee of 15. So Phone price + Activation/Switch fee is what you pay, and phone prices for people that port, are upgrading, or starting a new line of service are clearly posted in all stores.
So if you get scammed, its because you're likely asking for it.
@@anahia3625 I don't see why we ask a price if its posted clearly on the display. If the phone is listed as a certain price, and you know the upgrade fee is $15, stop asking what the price is. If you ask, they assume you can't read or accept anything and feed you anything.
Me too. Well, shit.
Thanks for the insight bro, luckily the MetroPCS near my house have good staff, they are very friendly and one of my neighbors switched over to metro and since he is an apple fan he did go for the iphone 6s, his iphone 5s was getting old and he wanted an upgrade so he didn't get scam but thanks for the insight.
$599 for an iPhone 6S bruh wtf 😂 I seriously hope people know better than to fall for that shit. Good looking out man
i know right 😂😂😂 Thanks g!
DEFINITELY DONT GET BOOST EITHER IF YOU TRAVEL TO A DIFFERENT STATE YOUR PHONE WILL NOT WORK

This is no way involved with metro pcs as a company just certain authorized dealers. And dont get me wrong, some are amazing but be aware and never fall for this scam! #techgang
I remember when I left Verizon for 2 weeks to go to AT&T, when I came back to Verizon I went to in authorized retailer. And they had me basically paying activation fee to get my phone's back to Verizon. I found out later that they should have never charged me the $30 x 2 lines for $60 total
I work at a authorized dealer for metro by tmobile he quoted you 300 + more than what it should be.... Deff shady and i would contact corporate by our company we can not take any shape form of money from you for a phone unless we have the phone..... Something is really not right about that... Ill contact my people and see what they say...

This one METRO PCS in downtown Cincinnati even tried to make my husband give him his phone too.
That is NOT how Metro works. That dude is a crook, 99% sure he is doing that on his own.
His scam won't last long, especially the more this video gets around!
Give them hell TechRight, great information review 👍 up for looking out for the tech gang
So the main thing to keep in mind here is that this is an isolated incident. As a dealer myself, I deal with crooked dealers who charge people outrageous amounts of money, don’t give receipts, take deposits on phones hen don’t follow through, etc. Did this guy do you right? Absolutely not and chances are his Franchise owner is behind all the scamming. Now, Corporate stores are only available in certain markets, so keep that in mind as well that they won’t be available to everyone.
This guy in this particular store obviously didn’t know what he was doing so don’t try to put this on Metro as a company. This is one instance of a guy trying to hustle way too hard and failing miserably.
this was in no way on metro
That or he said that to get off the phone. People stay calling the phones to ask 42 questions over half an hour instead of looking online.
Yes. Thank you.
Metro charged my mother an upgrade for a phone that was no better then the phone she had. Im pulling her out of metro mon morning. Metro pc is a scam stores!
Why is it I gotta pay $150 for the phone but taxes if the phone was at regular price
Dude same thing happened to me when I tried to get the iphone 7 for 50 bucks deal. They wanted 250 with everything
Yo man it’s true, I’ve worked for metro twice and for both of them I was trained to ripp off customers with phones and accessories.

@Panero G They just tried this with me so I walked out without paying a dime. They didn't even know what I wanted!

And some of them will go as far as to threaten the cops when you are just trying to get the metro promise
“I try to do the Breast research possible” Freudian slip
Metro Authorized dealer charged my parent $85 for activation fee.
I would've went there and snapped on there asses straight up!!
A year later and they just tried this crap with me so I walked out without giving them a dime. All of the corporate stores were closed so I'll try again after more research. Thank you so much for the report!
This isn't the first time I heard this pricing scam! Wow metro dealers be killing folks with these prices, ain't no way a 6s is a $599 device in 2018. Switch to cricket lol! Great video Stefan!

There's a store near me that does that also. I'd be happy to divulge the info as well.
We have corporate stores all over the city that match the online pricing but the locations outside of town sell the phones at full price. Not sure how they stay in business.
Always price compare.
The scam is the fact now the 6s plus is $99 and an up grade is $249 and calling it a promotional discount for their long time customers. Someone please explain to me why they are punishing the customers for keeping them as a provider?
I remember going in with my dad to MetroPCS for something. I don't remember exactly what we did there, but the guy helping us asked for money for some service we thought would be free and in cash only. I had no cash and neither did my dad so he went to the bank while I stayed there talking to the employee and he gave me a half assed explanation that they got scammed by someone using card and I was like "youre shady af man" So I just gtfo and waited for my dad. Dude what the fuck is wrong with these people.

I just recently started working as a manager at a Metro by T-Mobile. To your first point about needing a deposit on the phone, the reason is that the authorized dealers need to purchase the phones and then metro reimburses them. Usually most people going with metro service aren’t going to pay much for their phones so they could be sitting in stock unsold for awhile. Also, depending on the area, having iPhone in stock could make that store a target for robbery. Those are the reasons the store I work at doesn’t stock them. We tell ppl to go to corporate stores.
Bullshit buster
All authorized dealers do this kind of stuff. Cricket, MetroPCS both have similar problems. Maybe they just don't make enough or charge too much for the franchise, but there's always some kind of scam!
Stephon, I also called T-Mobile/Metro and they said they will handle it. They never did. Also, when I first opened my account with MetroPCS, the guy in the store didn't even put my information in right despite having my ID.
Ooo spill that tea ☕☕
Well technically he didn't scam you. If he is a authorized dealer and you ask for a 6s and you arent eligible for the upgrade, your price is 549. If its isn't the rose gold 6s for the black you are paying 549. Get to know the back end stuff because this maybe wrong information
I’m leaving this comment in July 2020… I recently switched to MetroPCS and the service sucks. Not only did I inherit someone else’s number from an Airbnb listing in which I got bombarded with calls and text messages realizing that they do not put numbers out of circulation for a period of time before re-issuing a phone number to a brand new customer! But I have had to single-handedly see a good amount of my text messages get rejected. Not even delayed but completely rejected… It hasn’t even been two weeks and I’m already going to be calling them to find out when my billing cycle ends so that I could switch out of this service. I’ve already spent hours with Apple Care just to make sure it wasn’t my brand new iPhone 8 that I purchased from them.
I also didn’t realize that MetroPCS has corporate stores versus “authorized retailer” ..... so How do I happen to end up at a corporate location I may not have had to pull out $449 for an iPhone 8 Plus!
I worked for Metro by T-Mobile. And yes. The reason why stores up their prices. Definitely authorized dealers. Because they only make money off the phones with commission. It's very little. So when you offer that Good of a deal. And the person don't stay on the line. The store loses money. Corporate needs to stop offering deals. That they're not willing to back up the stores profits.
Facts man
Omg this happen to me today. I couldn't believe what I heard
When I went in to the store to open 3 lines . I argued a little because I had seen the prices for 3 line was 90 $ on metro pcS website. But the store was trying to charge me 130 for just 3 lines without any devices added not including taxes . It's a shame that a lot of ppl fall into that bs. Thanks for sharing glad to know I wasn't the only that felt I was being scammed . Do research guys on the deals before walking into authorize dealers stores .
Thanks for your hard work homie! #PHONESFORTHEPEOPLE!

Nice decorating . No that guy didn't know what he was doing. You should have seen the crap I had to go through to get Amazon Prime on my 4 lines for 120.00 switch. I called the two stores I deal with and got 2 different answers on how I can switch to that and they wanted to charge me though it was well over 90 days. I finally got customer service in South Africa to give the plan with no charge and it took talking to three people in the Phillipeans to get my Amazon prime.

Authorized dealers have different rules for phones I work with metro rn and my work makes us lie to customers and add on accessories to the phone or a add on from metro.
How are they making you? You’re literally choosing to do that, they’re not putting a gun to your head. You could report them to FTC if you cared enough and find another job while you’re at it.

Two years ago I did the upgrade to the 6s for $149... in the end with all “fees” it costed around $300 which was double the price... I looked at the receipt and I felt like they added fees that weren’t necessary as it was an upgrade not new service and was told previously over the phone I could opt out of the screen protector and phone case which was an extra $50 just for that. They said in store that they aren’t allowed to do so, as it’s part of the upgrade, but if that’s the case when why charge me for it? They also said I couldn’t buy a phone at a different location or take my phone in for questions at a different location, other than the one I have my plan at, due to them not having system syncing.
I got the phone for $49

How do you find the upgrade prices for a phone so you don't get ripped off in the store. The prices i see are for new lines only? How do you find a corporate store versus a authorised dealer?
I left metro a long time ago when I upgraded my phone, to a phone with different specs than listed on the website. Then they refused to refund my money because I was an existing customer. Because their company policy supercedes federal false advertising laws if you're poor and can't afford a lawyer.

When I first started with metro, the employee told me the phone I wanted was free and "that" day just started a special. Get the phone for free, plus case and screen protector were free. Later, the manager refused to give me my receipt. She said I had to come back later to pick it up. I told her I wasn't leaving without the receipt, which the original employee did not even offer during purchase. I'm still waiting for my $97 refund for extras that were supposed to be free. I'm seriously considering going with a different carrier. That was a year ago. Definitely no't going back to that store, which is located in Wichita Kansas.

METRO CONFIRMED TO BE GARBAGE NOW EVERYONE ALERT GO TO BOOST OR CRICKET I REPEAT GO TO BOOST OR CRICKET!!!!
That's just not true man. First off why would you want Boost? Their plans our cheap sure but they are very limited. They throttle everything from video quality when streaming to gaming. Plus it runs on the Sprint network which has much weaker coverage.
As far as cricket is concerned they are pretty good. I tested them before when I was getting fed up with T-Mobile coverage in my area but then something magical happened and they actually finished a huge upgrade and I stayed with them. Best decision I ever made especially now that I live in State College, PA and out here T-Mobile is easily the best carrier to have on campus and out by my apartment.
Anyway the problem I have with cricket is that they latency is really high because of how the data gets routed differently and how you get kicked off LTE all the time because of how AT&T treats it's prepared customers. With Cricket you are literally like a 3rd class citzen on the network. Now I know they made some improvements but again as far as value is concerned their plans don't have it.
T-Mobile wins in the value department and this can be proven in any markets that have good coverage with the big 4. Metro doesn't limit speeds like cricket does outside of video streaming. They have better coverage than Boost and a larger library of phones that can work on the network.
@@dennisp8520 they're treating metro PC's like 3rd class citizens now though.
Is Verizon with t mobile.
@@kingtrax5759 that's not true. They get treated like 2nd class i.e T-Mobile gets first priority than metro than other MVNOs

Good work tho. Thanks for the heads up.
What about buying the phone online? That would be from corporate most likely. I go through metro for 5 years and found that being such a good customer for so long does me no favors. New customers are buying a phone for much less. I've been stuck with my first cell the Stylo and because I'm a good customer I can't get a decent price. Would I be able to buy a phone (used or whatever) from a cheaper dealer like Amazon etc. and make it work with metro? I get unlimited everything for $50 a month and service is great wherever I seem to be. It's hard to beat that deal. I also hate changing my number whenever I switch services. I can't remember the number for a while and changing my # for every service I use it for and let my friends know my new # is very time consuming and misses a lot of places.
I had the same thing in Brooklyn stores. That's why I'm upset that they stopped let ppl buying on the web.

Years ago I called two different MetroPCS stores and at one a phone I wanted was $150 and at the other one it was free after I switch my number to them. So you know which one I went to, the one that I got a free phone at.
But anyway after this $15 plus fee every time I switch out sim cards to a unlocked phone I'm taking my business elsewhere. It's crazy how Metro by T-Mobile is getting now.
Hey there Tech Right and the gang!! #techgang 😁
I did that with my Android phone, had NO issues since it came in next day. I would never get an iPhone for any reason. Sorry that this certain store played a scam on you, but not every store operates this way. Report scams to the company directly, keep names of people you dealt with. Don't blast the entire company itself for what a bad store does.
Irish Eyes, Exactly I love Metro and have never had any problems whatsoever, the Employees are so nice, honest and helpful, they explain everything so just because you've had a problem with this one particular store and Employee please don't make it sound like the entire Metro Company is at fault because it just isn't fair to the rest of the Metro places that's not doing what you've gone through, all of my family as well as lots of my friends are either with Metropcs or T-Mobile and have never had any problems whatsoever, some have been with them for over 10 years or more and are completely satisfied and more are going to them so yeah everyone to their own choosing but for me and lots of others we are thoroughly satisfied
I'll tell you what happened to me one time at MetroPCS. They offered me a phone at a certain price, and then right at the very end of the process AFTER I PAID THE GUY, he keeps my new phone and tells me [in his thick Indian accent] "I'm sorry but I can not give you your new phone today, the price I sold the phone to you for is only good tomorrow. You can come back tomorrow and pick up your phone". I seriously wanted to choke the life out of him. I elected right then and there to get my money back (which took DAYS) and haven't set food in that store since. Back in the old days, before all the laws that we have now to protect people from violence, you'd lose all of your front teeth or take the receiving end of a revolver, for pulling a stunt like that.
Thank you for the information!
There was a store in Mobile, AL, that tried something like this last year. I had gotten empty and went to the Love's and saw on Google a store was about 3/4 mile away so I walked there to get a free memory upgrade. The clerk, said he was the manager, told me I needed to buy a different device, etc. to get the upgrade. I walked back to the truckstop stopping along the way tp eat and when I got to a store in Texas the upgrade was done without any issues. I asked the clerk/manager there about what the one in Mobile said and she told me he was wrong. Would have called the Mobile store first but I needed to go walking.
Got 2 iphone s6's and 2 stylo 4's yesterday, 12/7/18. The phones were free, 220.08 in Texas with taxes. However: only the iphones had 4g lte service out of the box. The stylo 4's have been throttled from the jump. After the network reset on metropcs' end all 4 phones are throttled. This is just after 200 MB of usage. 200 MB is the expiration of their refund policy. Are there any known recent fixes for this?
