    I was told by my small engine repair guy that ethanol is the worst thing for engines ever. He says not to use gas with ethanol in it, so ethanol free premium gas. End of season add Sta-bil fuel storage stabilizer and top off with fresh ethanol free gas, run to get the fuel mix in the unit and store. Since following his advice I have never had a fuel related issue in any of my machines again. Thanks for your videos, keep up the great work. I find them very helpful.

      Definitely not intended as a primary power source for grid down situations, especially since the solar power adapter is only a rumor as of now.
      Imo, the primary use for this is going to be tailgating and weekend trips to power radios, keep phones and cameras charged and maybe make breakfast while 'glamping' since the 2000w will allow things like electric cooktops and kettles to function (albeit for no more than a couple instances of each). Secondary use is going to be powering corded tools since if that was your primary use you could just invest the cash into cordless tools instead.
      There are many better options on the market for less money but this one should appeal to those already in or looking to get into the ego line of tools since you would be saving some money on batteries. For example, you can get a better unit not in the ego line that will already be solar capable (not including panels) with 12v and DC options for around 1100 (checkout maxoak bluetti). So you would essentially be paying around 600 for the four 5ah batteries and a charger, which isn't terrible really since they retail about 250 per battery and 80 for a basic charger.

    I just saw this yesterday. A friend of mine is a DJ and wanted a non gas operated power source for when there isn’t power available. Looks like this thing would do the job without popping breakers with high powered speakers plugged in.

    EGO should really advertise this power station as a 2000 continuous watt unit, it will only work over 2000 watts to up to 3000 watts for less than three seconds for a power demand surge which occurs when a motor starts up.

    No solar charge option = no deal. EGO keeps SAYING they are coming out with one but I haven't seen it yet. That's why I haven't bought one of these. We were without power for two full weeks after a hurricane. I guess I could have used this generator to prop the door open to let some cool air in the house.

    Propane Generator would be nice to have with this setup. This way you can turn off the Generator and the noise that it makes all the while running off of this 2000 watt beast. In a power outage you wont have sunlight. I wonder if it's true sine wave and not old square wave? Each battery runs about 390 watts hours so 2 of those would give you 800 watts for one hour and it's dead. 1600 watts load would be dead within 30 mins. 400 watt load you get two hours worth of power. It might keep your food in your house good for a day with 4 batteries. Once again Propane take would last how long? How much? I would just buy a Propane Generator and then pair it up with this. This is for light loads for at night and quite nights while power is out. I don't really see this going anywhere unless you have a work van and 500 watts of solar on top. You could be a painter and spray with this setup nicely with 600 watts of solar at least and keeping this bad boy charging. Only problem is solar kit should come with it for that same price. Anyone out in the field has a Truck and could install a 3000 watt inverter pure sinewave and just start their trucks and keep them idle and have full juice the whole day for much less mind you. Charging up those same batteries as well without needed to spend the extra grand. Trucks should come with a 150amp plug for the 12 volt side for sure. Then all we need to do is plug a box like this one in and keep those big ass batteries charging and have the truck start when the batteries get low and shut off after. I don't see the use of this unless it's just getting folks to buy a crap load of batteries. If you use that much power all day and need to keep those things charged you need a something that makes power not stores it. Fill up a cheap 2000 watt gas generator and you'll get at least 6-8 hours of use out of it for 4 bucks of gas. keep all the batteries charged up as well.

    • @controlyourfuture5477
      @controlyourfuture5477 5 років тому

      Having a Generator on site just to charge little drill batteries is dumb. Having this thing charged up and then keeping your music playing and drill batteries charging is smart but how much? Using this with a air compressor and working all day would be dead within a hour at best with two batteries. I guess one would have to spend 2000 more bucks and 8 of these batteries laying around to get jacked by the drug deal down the road. Just being real here no need to get your underwear in a bunch here. @ 52 volts X 7.5amps X 4 equals less then 1600 watts hours per day. I understand we have cordless saws now and high powered tools. Being without cords is the key here. Using this to keep other smaller drill batteries and saw batteries don't seem smart either. Taking juice in one 52 volt pack to put into another 18volt pack. Why not just buy more of those 18 volt packs then lol?

      @@jayjayhooksch1 I spent 1500 bucks total on the panels and the inverter along with the battery. I think I'll get my use out of it camping. I can pull 2000 watts with my inverter using a electric burner but can only use one burner at a time which is fine for cooking breakfast in the mornings. When we leave to go biking and come back the Rav is in morning sun and by noon I have a full battery for things like fans or heated blankets at night.
