Yae is very different from other characters, and even if she isn’t the strongest, her character and gameplay is special and having/maining her is rare. But i think she is underrated in terms of meta
Honestly I dont necessarily think she is underrated in terms of dmg performance. I just think dmg performance is the wrong focus to take on what makes for a valuable unit in Genshin. Yae is a weird one for me to evaluate since I have so much personal attachment to her (its like Zajeffs attachment to XQ lol), which is kinda why I thought it just made sense to ramble about a bunch of things related to her. Like I said in the video, I think she is in a very good state for characters to be in balance wise, wherein it is not that hard to get value out Yae if you want her, but by no means is there a ton of reason to feel a need to get her for what she enables
Yae is like the carry who is overlooked until the abyss gets hard. The thing about Yae is that compared to other characters,she performs worse when the abyss is easy but is a lifesaver in a. actually hard abyss.The fact that her turrets can hit enemies regardless of what you do,the fact that her burst is optional and not needed for the functionality of the team,and the fact that you can swap in and out of her whenever you want just,and be used as a carry and a sub dps ,,means there are basically no mechanical issues in the team that would prevent you from reaching your theoretical dos.Like c0 Neuvillette can be torn apart by consecrated beasts because he can't dodge for four seconds when he is on field.Yae can be dodging all the time and her turrets would still do damage.
Her way of dealing damage is on par with Furina, she just need more on-field time and your good to go, just tap 3 skills and she never have a hard time to deal damage, big range, 100% uptime, and a burst that can be ignored but good to have.
I think "BS enemies" would be a better fit as Yae kind of negates most of their mechanics - e.g. having to chase enemies, circle impact, invulnerability windows.
Yae versus consecrated beasts isn’t exactly easy either though idk why people act like they stop attacking just because you have a quick-swap team. Neuv has range, speed, and a zhong shield and we haven’t even had CB’s since his release in abyss. You are yapping just a little.
@@wilburforce8046 It's not that Yae doesn't have to dodge, it's that Yae can do significant damage even while dodging. In Yae aggravate even the time when you spend dodging,the team is doing like maybe 70% of it's full damage.Yae is moderately mobile too using her skill to reposition For Alhaitham hyperbloom with Xingqiu or Yelan that's maybe 10%?. (With Yelan prob 0%) (Different with Furina instead of Xingqiu though -because Furina just like Yae's turrents attacks unconditionally.This drives my point further how invaluable Yae's attacking style is.) Mihoyo made Neuv without dodgeability for a very good reason,they can nerf him quite easily tbh Two CB's combined attack doing reactions like overload or aggravate can break Zhong shield in 2-3 seconds. Neuv also has times when he has lower HP, like towards the end of a CA.The bird does the missile attack and scorpion does the class+stinger together when Neuv is at 19k HP.He's in trouble. Like yeah combined with ZL he can still survive but in the worst case scenario you need to be careful and cancel a few CA's(which is a significant dps drop) I don't think his mobility and range is enough to escape all the time.Thing about CB is that they can move quickly during an attack not just in between attacke Like he won't be unplayable, you'll have to cancel his CA alot in between.I just don't think he'll be broken.Arguably someone like Navia would perform alot better against the beasts.

Running away with Yae and leaving only turrets to do damage will results in midge clears at best. 2. Haithem is fine he has Zingquee plus a healer. He can get knocked around all he wants and still get a faster clear then Yae, I would know I kinda love dendro against CB’s. Yae doesn’t do badly either but the idea that she unlocks some new meta is goofy af. 3. Neuv can also freeze with charllote. Idk why your acting like getting interrupted maybe one time a rotation will all of a sudden make a passive Yae turret clear faster. 4. Till CB’s show up in abyss all I have to go off of was 3.7 with CB’s and Yae did not have some secret sauce clear for that content. Freeze did kek. So if anything charllote teams with Furina will shine. Why would navia be any tankier? Her highest dps team, unlike Neuv, has chiori these days not a shield. And even then, with Zhongli, her shield can break like you said and she needs to auto spam to get more shards. I think she’ll clear just fine, you just keep acting like there’s some secret CB sauce when in reality it only punishes teams that have truly zero interrupt resist plus a strict rotation. If there’s not a dendro beast btw I think Nilou is the brainless team your looking for, not Yae.
@@Solunerra kind of a weird analogy I'm about to make. I watch a lot of fitness youtube content, and sometimes I get tired of the "science-based" bodybuilders, always quoting the most recent studies and trials to fill you in for the most "optimal" exercises for muscle growth (sort of like the "metagame" for workouts). Then on the other side there's the more laid back youtubers, the "gym bros" (or also bro-science), they "just pick up the weight and train harder" type, those who are just rambling about their day in the gym and talking to you about their favorite exercise that they have fun with, but also offering useful advice while being entertaining. You and other Genshin players are like that second category, as opposed to the more metagame type of Genshintubers
TLDW: Yae is valuable because she is a sub dps that can also be a main dps while being useful in almost all content so she will have a longer shelf life than most on-field dps.
I started playing Genshin because of Eula, she was my first 5 star character ever, and I've been a Eula main since joining in May of 2021. Yae, however, became a character I LOVED the moment I saw her in the Inazuma archon quests. Beautifully designed, fun and relatively simple kit, AMAZING characterization, etc. I got Yae on her first banner, and since then have gotten her to C3 and have gotten a copy of Kagura's Verity during this current rerun. Since Yae's debut banner, I have been a dedicated Yae AND Eula main, and I love seeing other people enjoying and loving Yae. My main team is typically Eula, Yae Miko, Raiden, and Layla, but I've also made a team with Yae, Nahida, Kokomi, and Yelan. I have tried quite a few dendro based teams with Yae, but I enjoy using her to create hyperbloom/quickbloom instead of just quicken/aggravate. She's just a fun character and I enjoyed your video showing how much you love and enjoy our Kitsune queen.
It's so nice to see Yae Miko and maining Yae getting more appreciation! Yae Miko was my first limited 5 star in Genshin Impact, and I have been maining her as a Sub-DPS for around 2 years. I was also fortunate enough to get her signature weapon on the weapon banner as well. My main team normally has Yae Miko, Nahida, and Yanfei with a 4th character that uses whatever 4th element that I need on my team. Her E-Skill is absolutely amazing for reaction teams, and I love that it provides constant Electro application for elemental reactions!
Yae is such a versatile unit. She tends to be in a lot of my teams just for the off-field support. She started off weak for me but after building the best set I could for her, she's one of my strongest characters. I haven't tried plunge yet, but seems fun. I don't know if you knew this about Yae. Perform a basic attack and immediately switch to another character in the middle of the attack. Then when switching back to her, watch her face. On a side note, Ganyu was my first 5* limited character I got way back on her first banner whom I still regularly use. In fact I used her earlier in a domain today and was very effective for me. So I guess it depends on the application you're using certain characters. I just like bow characters in general.
Her electro application off-field is also just kinda nuts. Like everyone knows that Ei has the longest off-field electro application out of all of the characters, but Miko is practically just in second place with greater off-field damage than Ei most of the time unless you're going for hyperbloom. A testament to this is that I just got Miko (mainly for my Alhaitham but also I just genuinely have always liked Miko, her playstyle, her design, etc) and I had an extremely viable quicken team with just a level 40 Miko (yes I did with her what I pulled with Chevy lol) on the bottom half. She also did something with Alhaitham in particular that I just really appreciate as an Alhaitham main in that she allowed me to have split rotations or a more quickswap approach without Furina. That goes into a TON of intricacies with Alhaitham that I'm sure you don't care about, but basically you want him to keep his field time to just one string. You can sometimes shorten it depending on the enemy or situation, but you can't usually split rotations to a meaningful degree and get a good result. Why with Furina basically comes down to her long ass durations, and it's a way to incorporate Kuki's healing to get a higher result with quickbloom. But Miko basically allows for a similar concept in pure quicken, and that's where it feels like a breath of fresh air. It allowed the Wenut in particular to just not be an issue at all due to the rotation versatility. Speaking of the Wenut, her turrets and Nahida's mark do damage to it even when it goes below ground, and that's taken further when you have Oz up too. It's really funny. Edit: I forgot to mention why Miko elevated it rather than Fischl. Fischl's passive isn't procced with spread lol. She also has weird issues where you want to burst every other rotation to refresh Oz, but there's always going to be a moment you mistime it (especially with Alhaitham) and he won't be around to proc quicken. This is totally gone when you replace her with Miko or use them both. Miko's turrets just last for so god damn long. She's perfect.
she's my fav character so I got her and kagura's this banner and before her I didn't really have a main but she's in so many of my teams now not only cause she's my fav character in the game but she genuinely fills in so many spots with relative ease I can put her in almost any team as a sub dps or an on fielder
great vid! as for 30:50 i really enjoy strawberry miko which is when you give her the green sumeru wings and i also have the green seelie. i personally think it's very pretty and suits her well
Watched the whole video which was totally unexpected on my part, however, i enjoyed every minute of it. My team is Yae Miko, Ei, Nahida and Baizhu. You got my sub fellow Miko main. 👍🏻
I also started playing right before Yae came out the first time. Poured all the primos i had in her banner as a clueless noob and got her c2. I have to say she is still my favourite character in the game lore wise and design wise Only on this banner i managed to get her weapon and her c3. My life is complete.
Differences in opinions over certain characters writing i appreciate you for not showing or falling for animosity with her shorter sister from another mother. The whole comparison between the two and misunderstanding of Yaes style probably did more damage to her for longest time then her having come out before Dendro with a Dendro emphasized kit, i still see too many people all hung up on that.
I actually got Yae this patch by accident. I had a single 10 pull and figured why not, worst case I build pity. I was very early in pity so was pretty happy. Looking forward to building her. Yet another char to add to the pile to build but yeah! lmao

this is sooo relatable. I've got lots of characters that I really like but usually get bored of them meanwhile Yae has been with me since her first banner ❤ She's so comfy to play and I love her design too. Has to be my fav character playwise!!! I'm glad other people also seem to love her
if i wasn't a keqing main, yae would definitely be my main. i love characters that can have different roles. yae is def worth pulling for, i use her a lot! unsurprisingly, i feel the same abt neuvillette, kinda regret pulling him. a lot of people feel that way 😬
No wonder I always related to you as a player more than most youtubers, we started playing at the same time lol. I also got Xiao first and mained Yae since release (no Ganyu though. I got Xiao too late in the banner to get a 5* during her banner). I'm really glad I did get her, and skipped the heaviest of the hypercarry meta. Skill based quick swap characters are much more fluid to play and way more flexible to build. My experience with her over the typical characters meant that I quickly saw value in Dehya and don't care whatsoever how "bad" her burst is. Neither character likes being shoved into the wrong playstyle, and both were judged upon playstyle biases. Both are now triple crowned. Though Yae is like the hardest to kill off for me. But I'm coming from a MOBA and being used to mobile mages and the concepts of repositioning midbattle. No zhongli meant having to learn how to actually dodge. Though onfield with Yae and Thoma feels really clean. Her normal attack covers the same area that his flame arc covers. I'll put them together again once I finish building Chev, I am... out of gears. I also want to do more Onfield Yae (and Lisa) comps with Xianyun now too. I do find her the best electro unit though aside from Kuki healing offering role consolidation. I take no shame is saying I fully skipped Raiden for "useless" Kokomi right after Yae. I don't feel the need to be tied down to the Emblem domain, or fish her one good weapon, and I literally only cared about getting her now for a Chev team with her co-dpsing with Dehya. I understand she's an insane battery, but again, skill focused users are superior (think how much worse Neuvillette or Furina would be if they were burst focused). And yea she's strong, but she's got new toy syndrome for now so she'll still be commonly benched. And while I had Fischl in the early game, she feels so restricting to use after getting Yae. She provides nowhere near enough coverage and any ranged pyro unit feels better. Yanfei especially stayed with me a lot longer. Plus, newer enemies are getting immune to her A4 passive, so she's been nerfed a bit too. Obviously Lisa is the less mobile 4* version and Sara is a buffer. And Dori is another catagory altogether as well. And Yae is still more flexible to play than Keqing or the canine men. So I fully believe she's the queen of electro units and the single best one to get. I'll be waiting to see how Clorinde spices up the family.
We started almost the same time, Jan 2022. Yae was my very 1st 5* character and my only limited character with C1. She pretty much hard carried me all throughout my early game and built her pretty well over the years (No Kagura's Verity though, I never pull on the weapon banner). I can say she's like my comfort character. I always feel a certain nostalgia whenever I have her on any of my teams.
I've had c1r1 Yae since her first banner and love her. On her first rerun i got her c2 and now I (painstakingly) got her to c4 :) next rerun I'm aiming for c6☆ I love that 4 of my favorite characters can make a good team: Yoi, Yae, Kazoo, Koko. And I also enjoy playing Nahida, Yelan, Yae, Koko too. And yes, I too wish she had pants ^^;;
this is extremely off topic but I love just playing your videos while farming or doing quest, because I find your voice very nice and relaxing. You´re very easy to listen to, in my opinion
Fun video, I like the discussion of the team variations. I just pulled Yae on this banner, and mostly for the reasons you did originally, she's a well-written, cool kitsune for sure. And the more guides I watch the more I'm actually looking forward to using her. But I can't even level her up yet because I never did the Enkanomiya quests to unlock her ascension mats boss, and it's taking a little while.

Wow, this shows how much of a personal preference is the selection of "main" is. I for example don't even know how to play without an Archer in my team. You need to quickly do the commissions? Kill a bird, or a boar for meats? Soften the enemy and apply an element for reactions? You need an archer, like, all the time, especially in the overworld! (which occupies 95% of my play time). Its not invariant, you can make do with any unit, but an archer is just more convenient. Basically, the whole reason I play till this day is the fact that my first event 5-star was Ganyu. I use her so often that she ascended from level 75 to 80 all by herself, just using the experience you get from killing enemies. In fact, she did it twice already, on 45 -> 50 and 65 -> 70 levels. Recently, I've been replacing her with my Shotgun Faruzan. And oh boy, was it good! Her damage may be a bit lower, but her control over the enemies and overall fun are unparalleled. Glad you also made it to her "main form", haha.
Yae was the first 5-star I pulled last year and carried massively despite only being level 39 (Inazuma wasn't unlocked for me at the time). I have Raiden now and want to build both up for a dual DPS team or hyperbloom with yaoyao again only instead of being forced to use Barbara I got Xingqiu for hydro during lantern rite
I really enjoy playing yae, I actually got her on accident while trying to get kirara (I didnt realize I was at 76 pity...) and she costed me a kazuha. Still, I don't regret her at all! My favorite team is Nahida, Yae, Kuki and sucrose (got qiqi on kazuha)
I pulled Yae right around when this video was posted, and I was pretty new to Genshin. The combination of a lost 50/50 to tighnari, a nahida from the previous banner, and yae carried me through so much of the game's content. I have a double crowned Tighnari and Yae because of that, and I still use both of them frequently. My favorite alternate yae team is definitely Arlecchino/Yae/Chevreuse/Bennett.
One of the most important thing for characters i like is their playstyle. I have Hu Tao, lover her character and design but i barely use her i dont like her playstyle. Contrast this with Qiqi, i love using her onfeild playstyle its so much fun. Her numbers are way less but the enjoyability is so much more.
I've been watching you for a few months now from polearms only but I don't think I ever commeted. I like the imput from your vids, I find it pretty useful and you are the reason I C6 my Bennet and I actually have fun with that character finally lol I've had Yae for a year and a half, basically since I started genshin and she's also my most invested unit, really liked to see how you had her built and your composition ideas :]
Great to hear this. I loved her design at first but then I discovered her awesomeness. Yae with Furina on the world map is great. I don't have to do anything after setting their stuff in motion. I'm trying to get her sig weapon on this banner as I already have her second constellation.
I'm in a very similar situation to you with Yae. Got her on her original banner, she was good before Dendro, and she got even better. Eventually ended up pulling for her C2 and Kagura's - because of the range bonus increase - and in this most recent banner got her C3 on a whim (cause tbh new characters kinda bore me). The funny thing is, I didn't originally want Yae because Lisa is one of my favorite characters and I was in the process of building her when Yae came out. But I got her anyways and it has truly been the best decision for my account. She always carried me in Abyss despite her being just a "sub-DPS" and remains such a strong, versatile unit. Though I can't deny she made me lazy as hell too. I love her character, she is so smart, funny, and interesting. An immortal character who has grown a bit bored of immortality so she uses fiction as an outlet is such a cool character concept. Her more serious moments in the story are great too, although I loved seeing her doing silly stuff like the Fungi event.
the reason i got neuvillette wasnt bc i heard he was strong but bc ever since the first fontaine leaks/trailer i loved his design so much, his hair, his face, his outfit everything, same for yae except unlike neuvillette a big reason why i wanted her like others was bc of her personality shes so great

I’ve been tempted to make a “throw out skills and look away when overworld farming team” with yae, yaoyao and idk two other characters because it really is nice to be able to pop her skills and continue w ur day with all enemies dead lol
I started playing year one (well, not really, I didn't play for most of year one after creating my account, it was by the end of it that I really got into the game), so I consider myself a decently old player, but I tend to play all my limited 5 star dpses, this is because I only have 5 of them as of right now, and I just got Arlecchino, but most importantly, it's because I skip everyone I don't like and hyperfocus on my favorites, for example, Ayaka was my first main dps that I pulled for and got, and, except for Raiden and Yelan, every single 5 star I got after her was for her team until I felt it was complete, and I still want some upgrades, I got Shenhe, Mistspliter, Kazuha and lucked out a Mona, after that I got neuvi because he's cool, I really like his design, not to mention he's a dragon, and that's inherently cool, and after that I trew my Furina straight to C1R1 with plans of C2 in her upcoming rerun. This is just how I like to play, I know a lot of people hate hyperinvesting and how easy that makes the game, or prefer to have a lot of characters, but for me I MUCH prefer giving my favorites drip with their weapons, some cool cons that I like and a good team with other charaters I enjoy rather than pulling for some character I will forever bench like Itto, Al Haitan, Nilou etc. BTW, one of my dpses is Eula, I use her the least, but still use her. I actually didn't intend to pull for her, but when her banner rolled around, I was like, she looks great, cool backstory, and I had just gotten Kazuha, so I felt my Ayaka team was pretty good, so I said the famous line, "one 10 pull couldn't hurt", I ended up getting a Diluc, just out of spite I did another one and she came, I don't use her that much, but sometimes I enjoy playing physical.
Yae from her first banner until now she always never wanted ot come to me.... aventualy she came on my friend's account that now is like mine and her weapon came early too. I'm SO happy to play her at least on the 2nd account

Ive pulled yea as well because i liked her. Even when people said she was a worse fishl. I didn’t care. I dont like fischl. I first used her in a raiden, yea, kokofish and sucrose team. But ever since dendro ive been using her with tighnari as a base team with baizhu, zhongli, lisa and albedo as flex slots. She is the first and only limited 5* i have constellations of (C2) plus i have her signature. I love her soo much.
Tbh on-fielders give me joy because Genshin doesn’t really have many of them it seems nowadays. I like being able to just do everything on one character without needing others/needing to switch constantly, especially if I can main them. And if I do need other characters, then I can easily slap a team with them regardless. I hate that Hoyoverse is starting to make the fun off-field characters only viable as a main dps if you aim for C6 Yae is probably one of the very few off fielders I actually enjoy having though
Most units released are on fielders. 2/3 of the 4.x five stars are on field only (Neuvi, Wrio, Lyney, Navia), and Freminet + GaMing are too for 4 stars, so I am kinda curious why you feel that. And if you want to on field characters that were not "meant" to, that's kinda one of the main things I do on my channel lol. One of the great things about the game is how easy it is to do so. The degree to which it makes sense depends a lot on the character, but its usually not that hard if you have the other units that enable doing competent teams around them being on field. Cloud Retainer is a great example of someone largely intended as an off field supportive/enabling type of unit, but she also enables herself to be a very competent DPS too. It can oftentimes be a much higher investment thing to do, but it is MUCH more attainable than C6.
i discovered genshin mid 2.5, when yae debuted, and completely fell in love with the game. also just realized her first banner was just 1 day after my birthday T-T which makes her even more special to me!! yae and hutao are my favs and the only reason i still play genshin
I have Yae since her first banner, she was my favorite character announced for Inazuma, my favorite character during the archon quest. And she's still one of my favorite character now (I felt for Navia and Furina) . I have her weapon and C2, I don't have Nahida since I didn't wanted to play Archons, but I love Yae so much that I decided I'll pull for her one day. For the moment I have two teams, one with tighnari sucrose and Baizhu that clear contents easily. The other one is more for fun, but works well: Yae, Albedo kokomi fischl , the bot team xD
Honestly, at first i regret building pity on her first banner and somehow getting her twice back to back but ever since dendro i tried building her and now i always use her for abyss. Idk how much is the difference between her c0 and c1 but I'm actually happy that I got her c1
I actually don’t like her character but I can’t deny her strength nowadays. I got c1 yae accidentally and I don’t think it’s something I’ll fully regret( but tartag c1 is still better 😢). She’s really good with Nahida, if I need to clear something I’ll take them together, yae is really strong, she may seem complicated for someone but she’s really good but dendro really made her shine even more. I so agree with you! I love my Yae and never regretted her - she shines especially in my Tighnari team where you really do your rotations so fast, even Yae's "long" setup time is often not enough for me lol (everyone's everything still on cooldown lol). Wenut is a joke with them together! 💖💚💪 (I SO feel you with the KFC wings... both for Yae and my poor baby Klee
I find it funny that I was listening to this in the backround and my main team is my Nahida, Furina, Yae, and Bennet team I call it the any thing goes team because of all of the reactions.
Finally got her and loving it. I mostly use her as a sub-dps. Place her electric “totems” (or whatever they’re called) then switch out for main dps. Her elemental burst is stupid powerful with proper setup
Yae and Kazuha are 2 Character that are in every of my teams. They work with everyone and they also go well together! So i would say, i main them, haha.

I personally believe that Yae's burst cost is stated as 90 because she was designed so that at least a part of her kit can be synergistic with Raiden. This is why her c1 knocks down her cost by a notch without changing the actual written number of the original cost.
I wanted to get a jade spear for my hu tao but then I got kagura instead. I didn't want Yae, I didnt like her character, her design, her play style and I already have a very well build Fishl and Raiden. But decided to do one 10 pull thinking it would be nice to have my 5 star character with their signature weapon. I got her and immediately fell in love. She looks so good in the game, her voice lines are amazing. I regret nothing, Im in love. I don't know why, but whenever I get characters they are NEVER like what I imagined they would be even though I google for a week and do multiple test runs. Edit: I got jade spear on a standard banner a week later lol
I love yae and I'm skipping her again because wishing is pain and I don't have much wishes right now so I'll just save for other characters Hopefully on her next rerun I'll get her!
Just to talk about c, i c6 Yae because i love her as a character. When it comes to appreciaten i always try to do my max to the characters I love. Raikou in FGO maxed out, Atago in Azur Lane maxed out and got huge amount of copies of her, Yae Miko c6 with insane artifact. For me c6 yae is not about damage, it's more about love, love for pixiels that talk and walk
Tbh I wish this was me, I got her on her first banner, and I am only now getting to building her (4-piece Golden Troupe), if she ever has another rerun, I think that I will roll for her Weapon. The Fox deserves everything.
Ganyu and xiao are not the same IMO. I been playing her as support for Ayaka since 2.0. you could also play her in quick swap teams. she's far from useless.
I think this video is fantastic. While it was rambling, it does so with Yae. I think it's strange how CCs promote strong characters and praise versatility, but advise not to pull Yae for anything other than want. Yae has excellent versatility and never stops her electro bombardment.
the longer ive had her the more ive started to like her over raiden she's alot comfier for electro dps im getting to the point with my account where its alot more useful to get constellations and weapons than new characters and while raiden has bigger increases from constellations and weapon im considering yae more as she really only wants her weapon
I'm tempted but worried they'll do something similar enough with Clorinde that I might want her instead. Logically this is foolish, since we know what Yae does and that she is good and we have no idea what Clorinde will do. But I can't shake the feeling.
I suspect she will be an on fielder with some kind of gimmick. On fielders are just easier to balance. And on a story level being on field makes sense. Honestly we have electro units that cover most of what makes electro useful already, so Im curious what they will do though. I hope she is not just Keqing 2.0
@@Solunerra Yeah, the duelist being a good on-fielder would make sense, but the problem with that line of thinking is that it also makes good sense for Dehya to be good in a fight ;) Personally, given the current trend in characters, though, I'm expecting her to be tied to overload and/or supercharged. Furina boosted the value of healers. Chev boosted Overload's value. Navia found a use for crystalize. And, while I won't go into leaks, I expect that trend will continue.
@@Solunerra Yeah I feel like it's a coinflip between "similar to Fischl/Yae" or "similar to Keqing." Short of tying her specifically to an underrepresented reaction like Electro-Charged (which would reduce my interest), it kind of has to be one of those lanes more or less.
I have yae but i haven't used her in ages. I mostly main neuvillette and Alhaitham. so I guess i'm the opposite kind of player to you xD big numbers go Brrrrr
Its less the numbers and more that I just get bored of playing the same on fielders. All Neuvi teams revolve around Neuvis playstyle and dealing with Neuvis kit, and benefits/downsides therein. Which I eventually get bored of. Not saying I will never use him obviously, he just doesnt have the “I can just use Yae in this team” aspect, instead its “I need to make a team entirely around Neuvi” if I want to use them. My ideal for on fielders is that they have something they do that has off field presence, even if its minor. Raiden is useful in many ways just by nature of having a bit of off field electro on her skill, for example. This could also be the case with a character having a passive with a team benefit when they are not off field. E.g. Chevreuse I built as an on field DPS, but when she is off field she is still benefiting the team through her passives.

Where putting everything in place for the big numbers feels smooth and satisfactory. the only time the long n fielders feel bad is when we're up against wheenut and the serpant, but I still completed spiral abyss that side with alhaitham because he can be faily dynamic on his skill/ ult combo.
I'm kinda like you here. Neuvillette is the strongest dps that I have. But I don't use him that often. I just love playing Yae along with Furina. Personally, I don't like on field dps style that much. I prefer spamming skills and switching between characters.
I personally think her split role of on and off field dps is why she feels so underwhelming. Her feels time for being a turret character is strangely high and when on field your auto attacks just don’t do a whole lot. She’s stuck in a spot where she carries the true advantages of neither on or off field dps, at least at c0. It also doesn’t help that Furina kinda…happened as a unit and Yae doesn’t have *as much* synergy with her compared to others.
Id like to get yae, as i love her story, design and play style, its just yae isnt a top meta unit, and i pull for meta mostly. When it comes to an off field electro applier, yae just isnt the best. I've also realised that when i pull non meta characters, for some reason the artifact domains just dont drop the s tier artifacts they drop for meta characters. I started playing in 1.5 so was there for yae's first banner, but shes just not priority, which is kinda sad ngl

Honestly I dont necessarily think she is underrated in terms of dmg performance. I just think dmg performance is the wrong focus to take on what makes for a valuable unit in Genshin. Yae is a weird one for me to evaluate since I have so much personal attachment to her (its like Zajeffs attachment to XQ lol), which is kinda why I thought it just made sense to ramble about a bunch of things related to her.
Like I said in the video, I think she is in a very good state for characters to be in balance wise, wherein it is not that hard to get value out Yae if you want her, but by no means is there a ton of reason to feel a need to get her for what she enables
Yae is like the carry who is overlooked until the abyss gets hard.
The thing about Yae is that compared to other characters,she performs worse when the abyss is easy but is a lifesaver in a. actually hard abyss.The fact that her turrets can hit enemies regardless of what you do,the fact that her burst is optional and not needed for the functionality of the team,and the fact that you can swap in and out of her whenever you want just,and be used as a carry and a sub dps ,,means there are basically no mechanical issues in the team that would prevent you from reaching your theoretical dos.Like c0 Neuvillette can be torn apart by consecrated beasts because he can't dodge for four seconds when he is on field.Yae can be dodging all the time and her turrets would still do damage.
Her way of dealing damage is on par with Furina, she just need more on-field time and your good to go, just tap 3 skills and she never have a hard time to deal damage, big range, 100% uptime, and a burst that can be ignored but good to have.
I think "BS enemies" would be a better fit as Yae kind of negates most of their mechanics - e.g. having to chase enemies, circle impact, invulnerability windows.
Yae versus consecrated beasts isn’t exactly easy either though idk why people act like they stop attacking just because you have a quick-swap team.
Neuv has range, speed, and a zhong shield and we haven’t even had CB’s since his release in abyss.

In Yae aggravate even the time when you spend dodging,the team is doing like maybe 70% of it's full damage.Yae is moderately mobile too using her skill to reposition
For Alhaitham hyperbloom with Xingqiu or Yelan that's maybe 10%?. (With Yelan prob 0%)
(Different with Furina instead of Xingqiu though -because Furina just like Yae's turrents attacks unconditionally.This drives my point further how invaluable Yae's attacking style is.)
Mihoyo made Neuv without dodgeability for a very good reason,they can nerf him quite easily tbh
Two CB's combined attack doing reactions like overload or aggravate can break Zhong shield in 2-3 seconds.
Neuv also has times when he has lower HP, like towards the end of a CA.The bird does the missile attack and scorpion does the class+stinger together when Neuv is at 19k HP.He's in trouble.
Like yeah combined with ZL he can still survive but in the worst case scenario you need to be careful and cancel a few CA's(which is a significant dps drop)
I don't think his mobility and range is enough to escape all the time.Thing about CB is that they can move quickly during an attack not just in between attacke

@@sauravthegreat 1. In order to do meta level dps Yae can’t afford to run away like that just look at her rotations in calcs lol. Running away with Yae and leaving only turrets to do damage will results in midge clears at best.
2. Haithem is fine he has Zingquee plus a healer. He can get knocked around all he wants and still get a faster clear then Yae, I would know I kinda love dendro against CB’s. Yae doesn’t do badly either but the idea that she unlocks some new meta is goofy af.
3. Neuv can also freeze with charllote. Idk why your acting like getting interrupted maybe one time a rotation will all of a sudden make a passive Yae turret clear faster.
4. Till CB’s show up in abyss all I have to go off of was 3.7 with CB’s and Yae did not have some secret sauce clear for that content. Freeze did kek. So if anything charllote teams with Furina will shine.
Why would navia be any tankier? Her highest dps team, unlike Neuv, has chiori these days not a shield. And even then, with Zhongli, her shield can break like you said and she needs to auto spam to get more shards. I think she’ll clear just fine, you just keep acting like there’s some secret CB sauce when in reality it only punishes teams that have truly zero interrupt resist plus a strict rotation.
If there’s not a dendro beast btw I think Nilou is the brainless team your looking for, not Yae.

I watch a lot of fitness youtube content, and sometimes I get tired of the "science-based" bodybuilders, always quoting the most recent studies and trials to fill you in for the most "optimal" exercises for muscle growth (sort of like the "metagame" for workouts). Then on the other side there's the more laid back youtubers, the "gym bros" (or also bro-science), they "just pick up the weight and train harder" type, those who are just rambling about their day in the gym and talking to you about their favorite exercise that they have fun with, but also offering useful advice while being entertaining. You and other Genshin players are like that second category, as opposed to the more metagame type of Genshintubers
TLDW: Yae is valuable because she is a sub dps that can also be a main dps while being useful in almost all content so she will have a longer shelf life than most on-field dps.
I started playing Genshin because of Eula, she was my first 5 star character ever, and I've been a Eula main since joining in May of 2021. Yae, however, became a character I LOVED the moment I saw her in the Inazuma archon quests. Beautifully designed, fun and relatively simple kit, AMAZING characterization, etc. I got Yae on her first banner, and since then have gotten her to C3 and have gotten a copy of Kagura's Verity during this current rerun. Since Yae's debut banner, I have been a dedicated Yae AND Eula main, and I love seeing other people enjoying and loving Yae. My main team is typically Eula, Yae Miko, Raiden, and Layla, but I've also made a team with Yae, Nahida, Kokomi, and Yelan. I have tried quite a few dendro based teams with Yae, but I enjoy using her to create hyperbloom/quickbloom instead of just quicken/aggravate. She's just a fun character and I enjoyed your video showing how much you love and enjoy our Kitsune queen.

Yae Miko was my first limited 5 star in Genshin Impact, and I have been maining her as a Sub-DPS for around 2 years. I was also fortunate enough to get her signature weapon on the weapon banner as well.
My main team normally has Yae Miko, Nahida, and Yanfei with a 4th character that uses whatever 4th element that I need on my team. Her E-Skill is absolutely amazing for reaction teams, and I love that it provides constant Electro application for elemental reactions!
Yae is such a versatile unit. She tends to be in a lot of my teams just for the off-field support. She started off weak for me but after building the best set I could for her, she's one of my strongest characters. I haven't tried plunge yet, but seems fun.
I don't know if you knew this about Yae. Perform a basic attack and immediately switch to another character in the middle of the attack. Then when switching back to her, watch her face.
On a side note, Ganyu was my first 5* limited character I got way back on her first banner whom I still regularly use. In fact I used her earlier in a domain today and was very effective for me. So I guess it depends on the application you're using certain characters. I just like bow characters in general.
I love yaes design and character but I just started and have been focused on Raiden, nahida, and now kazuha. Hoping to grab yae on her next rerun!
Her electro application off-field is also just kinda nuts. Like everyone knows that Ei has the longest off-field electro application out of all of the characters, but Miko is practically just in second place with greater off-field damage than Ei most of the time unless you're going for hyperbloom. A testament to this is that I just got Miko (mainly for my Alhaitham but also I just genuinely have always liked Miko, her playstyle, her design, etc) and I had an extremely viable quicken team with just a level 40 Miko (yes I did with her what I pulled with Chevy lol) on the bottom half.
She also did something with Alhaitham in particular that I just really appreciate as an Alhaitham main in that she allowed me to have split rotations or a more quickswap approach without Furina. That goes into a TON of intricacies with Alhaitham that I'm sure you don't care about, but basically you want him to keep his field time to just one string. You can sometimes shorten it depending on the enemy or situation, but you can't usually split rotations to a meaningful degree and get a good result. Why with Furina basically comes down to her long ass durations, and it's a way to incorporate Kuki's healing to get a higher result with quickbloom. But Miko basically allows for a similar concept in pure quicken, and that's where it feels like a breath of fresh air. It allowed the Wenut in particular to just not be an issue at all due to the rotation versatility.
Speaking of the Wenut, her turrets and Nahida's mark do damage to it even when it goes below ground, and that's taken further when you have Oz up too. It's really funny.
Edit: I forgot to mention why Miko elevated it rather than Fischl. Fischl's passive isn't procced with spread lol. She also has weird issues where you want to burst every other rotation to refresh Oz, but there's always going to be a moment you mistime it (especially with Alhaitham) and he won't be around to proc quicken. This is totally gone when you replace her with Miko or use them both. Miko's turrets just last for so god damn long. She's perfect.

she's my fav character so I got her and kagura's this banner and before her I didn't really have a main but she's in so many of my teams now not only cause she's my fav character in the game but she genuinely fills in so many spots with relative ease I can put her in almost any team as a sub dps or an on fielder

I also started playing right before Yae came out the first time. Poured all the primos i had in her banner as a clueless noob and got her c2. I have to say she is still my favourite character in the game lore wise and design wise Only on this banner i managed to get her weapon and her c3. My life is complete.

Differences in opinions over certain characters writing i appreciate you for not showing or falling for animosity with her shorter sister from another mother. The whole comparison between the two and misunderstanding of Yaes style probably did more damage to her for longest time then her having come out before Dendro with a Dendro emphasized kit, i still see too many people all hung up on that.

this is sooo relatable. I've got lots of characters that I really like but usually get bored of them meanwhile Yae has been with me since her first banner ❤ She's so comfy to play and I love her design too. Has to be my fav character playwise!!! I'm glad other people also seem to love her
if i wasn't a keqing main, yae would definitely be my main. i love characters that can have different roles. yae is def worth pulling for, i use her a lot! unsurprisingly, i feel the same abt neuvillette, kinda regret pulling him. a lot of people feel that way 😬
No wonder I always related to you as a player more than most youtubers, we started playing at the same time lol. I also got Xiao first and mained Yae since release (no Ganyu though. I got Xiao too late in the banner to get a 5* during her banner).
I'm really glad I did get her, and skipped the heaviest of the hypercarry meta. Skill based quick swap characters are much more fluid to play and way more flexible to build. My experience with her over the typical characters meant that I quickly saw value in Dehya and don't care whatsoever how "bad" her burst is. Neither character likes being shoved into the wrong playstyle, and both were judged upon playstyle biases. Both are now triple crowned.
Though Yae is like the hardest to kill off for me. But I'm coming from a MOBA and being used to mobile mages and the concepts of repositioning midbattle. No zhongli meant having to learn how to actually dodge. Though onfield with Yae and Thoma feels really clean. Her normal attack covers the same area that his flame arc covers. I'll put them together again once I finish building Chev, I am... out of gears. I also want to do more Onfield Yae (and Lisa) comps with Xianyun now too.
I do find her the best electro unit though aside from Kuki healing offering role consolidation. I take no shame is saying I fully skipped Raiden for "useless" Kokomi right after Yae. I don't feel the need to be tied down to the Emblem domain, or fish her one good weapon, and I literally only cared about getting her now for a Chev team with her co-dpsing with Dehya. I understand she's an insane battery, but again, skill focused users are superior (think how much worse Neuvillette or Furina would be if they were burst focused). And yea she's strong, but she's got new toy syndrome for now so she'll still be commonly benched.
And while I had Fischl in the early game, she feels so restricting to use after getting Yae. She provides nowhere near enough coverage and any ranged pyro unit feels better. Yanfei especially stayed with me a lot longer. Plus, newer enemies are getting immune to her A4 passive, so she's been nerfed a bit too.
Obviously Lisa is the less mobile 4* version and Sara is a buffer. And Dori is another catagory altogether as well. And Yae is still more flexible to play than Keqing or the canine men. So I fully believe she's the queen of electro units and the single best one to get. I'll be waiting to see how Clorinde spices up the family.
I don’t main yae, but she is most definitely my favorite character, so seeing this makes me very happy :D
We started almost the same time, Jan 2022. Yae was my very 1st 5* character and my only limited character with C1. She pretty much hard carried me all throughout my early game and built her pretty well over the years (No Kagura's Verity though, I never pull on the weapon banner). I can say she's like my comfort character. I always feel a certain nostalgia whenever I have her on any of my teams.
I've had c1r1 Yae since her first banner and love her. On her first rerun i got her c2 and now I (painstakingly) got her to c4 :) next rerun I'm aiming for c6☆
I love that 4 of my favorite characters can make a good team: Yoi, Yae, Kazoo, Koko. And I also enjoy playing Nahida, Yelan, Yae, Koko too.
And yes, I too wish she had pants ^^;;

Fun video, I like the discussion of the team variations. I just pulled Yae on this banner, and mostly for the reasons you did originally, she's a well-written, cool kitsune for sure. And the more guides I watch the more I'm actually looking forward to using her. But I can't even level her up yet because I never did the Enkanomiya quests to unlock her ascension mats boss, and it's taking a little while.

Yep a lot of what I said this video could be summarized by just saying how she maintains her utility and gains new utility as new units release
Wow, this shows how much of a personal preference is the selection of "main" is. I for example don't even know how to play without an Archer in my team. You need to quickly do the commissions? Kill a bird, or a boar for meats? Soften the enemy and apply an element for reactions? You need an archer, like, all the time, especially in the overworld! (which occupies 95% of my play time). Its not invariant, you can make do with any unit, but an archer is just more convenient.
Basically, the whole reason I play till this day is the fact that my first event 5-star was Ganyu. I use her so often that she ascended from level 75 to 80 all by herself, just using the experience you get from killing enemies. In fact, she did it twice already, on 45 -> 50 and 65 -> 70 levels.
Recently, I've been replacing her with my Shotgun Faruzan. And oh boy, was it good! Her damage may be a bit lower, but her control over the enemies and overall fun are unparalleled. Glad you also made it to her "main form", haha.
Yae was the first 5-star I pulled last year and carried massively despite only being level 39 (Inazuma wasn't unlocked for me at the time). I have Raiden now and want to build both up for a dual DPS team or hyperbloom with yaoyao again only instead of being forced to use Barbara I got Xingqiu for hydro during lantern rite

I really enjoy playing yae, I actually got her on accident while trying to get kirara (I didnt realize I was at 76 pity...) and she costed me a kazuha. Still, I don't regret her at all! My favorite team is Nahida, Yae, Kuki and sucrose (got qiqi on kazuha)
I pulled Yae right around when this video was posted, and I was pretty new to Genshin. The combination of a lost 50/50 to tighnari, a nahida from the previous banner, and yae carried me through so much of the game's content. I have a double crowned Tighnari and Yae because of that, and I still use both of them frequently. My favorite alternate yae team is definitely Arlecchino/Yae/Chevreuse/Bennett.
One of the most important thing for characters i like is their playstyle. I have Hu Tao, lover her character and design but i barely use her i dont like her playstyle. Contrast this with Qiqi, i love using her onfeild playstyle its so much fun. Her numbers are way less but the enjoyability is so much more.

Great to hear this. I loved her design at first but then I discovered her awesomeness. Yae with Furina on the world map is great. I don't have to do anything after setting their stuff in motion. I'm trying to get her sig weapon on this banner as I already have her second constellation.
I'm in a very similar situation to you with Yae. Got her on her original banner, she was good before Dendro, and she got even better. Eventually ended up pulling for her C2 and Kagura's - because of the range bonus increase - and in this most recent banner got her C3 on a whim (cause tbh new characters kinda bore me).
The funny thing is, I didn't originally want Yae because Lisa is one of my favorite characters and I was in the process of building her when Yae came out. But I got her anyways and it has truly been the best decision for my account. She always carried me in Abyss despite her being just a "sub-DPS" and remains such a strong, versatile unit. Though I can't deny she made me lazy as hell too.
I love her character, she is so smart, funny, and interesting. An immortal character who has grown a bit bored of immortality so she uses fiction as an outlet is such a cool character concept. Her more serious moments in the story are great too, although I loved seeing her doing silly stuff like the Fungi event.

the reason i got neuvillette wasnt bc i heard he was strong but bc ever since the first fontaine leaks/trailer i loved his design so much, his hair, his face, his outfit everything, same for yae except unlike neuvillette a big reason why i wanted her like others was bc of her personality shes so great

I’ve been tempted to make a “throw out skills and look away when overworld farming team” with yae, yaoyao and idk two other characters because it really is nice to be able to pop her skills and continue w ur day with all enemies dead lol
I started playing year one (well, not really, I didn't play for most of year one after creating my account, it was by the end of it that I really got into the game), so I consider myself a decently old player, but I tend to play all my limited 5 star dpses, this is because I only have 5 of them as of right now, and I just got Arlecchino, but most importantly, it's because I skip everyone I don't like and hyperfocus on my favorites, for example, Ayaka was my first main dps that I pulled for and got, and, except for Raiden and Yelan, every single 5 star I got after her was for her team until I felt it was complete, and I still want some upgrades, I got Shenhe, Mistspliter, Kazuha and lucked out a Mona, after that I got neuvi because he's cool, I really like his design, not to mention he's a dragon, and that's inherently cool, and after that I trew my Furina straight to C1R1 with plans of C2 in her upcoming rerun.
This is just how I like to play, I know a lot of people hate hyperinvesting and how easy that makes the game, or prefer to have a lot of characters, but for me I MUCH prefer giving my favorites drip with their weapons, some cool cons that I like and a good team with other charaters I enjoy rather than pulling for some character I will forever bench like Itto, Al Haitan, Nilou etc.
BTW, one of my dpses is Eula, I use her the least, but still use her. I actually didn't intend to pull for her, but when her banner rolled around, I was like, she looks great, cool backstory, and I had just gotten Kazuha, so I felt my Ayaka team was pretty good, so I said the famous line, "one 10 pull couldn't hurt", I ended up getting a Diluc, just out of spite I did another one and she came, I don't use her that much, but sometimes I enjoy playing physical.
Yae from her first banner until now she always never wanted ot come to me.... aventualy she came on my friend's account that now is like mine and her weapon came early too. I'm SO happy to play her at least on the 2nd account

I first used her in a raiden, yea, kokofish and sucrose team. But ever since dendro ive been using her with tighnari as a base team with baizhu, zhongli, lisa and albedo as flex slots.
She is the first and only limited 5* i have constellations of (C2) plus i have her signature. I love her soo much.
Tbh on-fielders give me joy because Genshin doesn’t really have many of them it seems nowadays.
I like being able to just do everything on one character without needing others/needing to switch constantly, especially if I can main them.
And if I do need other characters, then I can easily slap a team with them regardless.
I hate that Hoyoverse is starting to make the fun off-field characters only viable as a main dps if you aim for C6

Most units released are on fielders. 2/3 of the 4.x five stars are on field only (Neuvi, Wrio, Lyney, Navia), and Freminet + GaMing are too for 4 stars, so I am kinda curious why you feel that.
And if you want to on field characters that were not "meant" to, that's kinda one of the main things I do on my channel lol. One of the great things about the game is how easy it is to do so. The degree to which it makes sense depends a lot on the character, but its usually not that hard if you have the other units that enable doing competent teams around them being on field. Cloud Retainer is a great example of someone largely intended as an off field supportive/enabling type of unit, but she also enables herself to be a very competent DPS too. It can oftentimes be a much higher investment thing to do, but it is MUCH more attainable than C6.
i discovered genshin mid 2.5, when yae debuted, and completely fell in love with the game. also just realized her first banner was just 1 day after my birthday T-T which makes her even more special to me!! yae and hutao are my favs and the only reason i still play genshin

I have Yae since her first banner, she was my favorite character announced for Inazuma, my favorite character during the archon quest. And she's still one of my favorite character now (I felt for Navia and Furina) . I have her weapon and C2, I don't have Nahida since I didn't wanted to play Archons, but I love Yae so much that I decided I'll pull for her one day. For the moment I have two teams, one with tighnari sucrose and Baizhu that clear contents easily. The other one is more for fun, but works well: Yae, Albedo kokomi fischl , the bot team xD
Honestly, at first i regret building pity on her first banner and somehow getting her twice back to back but ever since dendro i tried building her and now i always use her for abyss. Idk how much is the difference between her c0 and c1 but I'm actually happy that I got her c1
C0 vs C1 is pretty similar, but C1 enables much more consistent use of her burst if wanted (I just think it shouldve been in her c0 kit)
I actually don’t like her character but I can’t deny her strength nowadays. I got c1 yae accidentally and I don’t think it’s something I’ll fully regret( but tartag c1 is still better 😢). She’s really good with Nahida, if I need to clear something I’ll take them together, yae is really strong, she may seem complicated for someone but she’s really good but dendro really made her shine even more. I so agree with you! I love my Yae and never regretted her - she shines especially in my Tighnari team where you really do your rotations so fast, even Yae's "long" setup time is often not enough for me lol (everyone's everything still on cooldown lol). Wenut is a joke with them together! 💖💚💪 (I SO feel you with the KFC wings... both for Yae and my poor baby Klee
I find it funny that I was listening to this in the backround and my main team is my Nahida, Furina, Yae, and Bennet team I call it the any thing goes team because of all of the reactions.
Finally got her and loving it. I mostly use her as a sub-dps. Place her electric “totems” (or whatever they’re called) then switch out for main dps. Her elemental burst is stupid powerful with proper setup
That EM circlet is good on Thoma (he wants a lot of ER and HP% is nice)

My C3R1 Yae is my favourite character, the backbone of my Abyss teams and I absolutely love her.
Yae and Kazuha are 2 Character that are in every of my teams. They work with everyone and they also go well together! So i would say, i main them, haha.
I personally believe that Yae's burst cost is stated as 90 because she was designed so that at least a part of her kit can be synergistic with Raiden. This is why her c1 knocks down her cost by a notch without changing the actual written number of the original cost.

I wanted to get a jade spear for my hu tao but then I got kagura instead. I didn't want Yae, I didnt like her character, her design, her play style and I already have a very well build Fishl and Raiden. But decided to do one 10 pull thinking it would be nice to have my 5 star character with their signature weapon. I got her and immediately fell in love. She looks so good in the game, her voice lines are amazing. I regret nothing, Im in love. I don't know why, but whenever I get characters they are NEVER like what I imagined they would be even though I google for a week and do multiple test runs.

I love yae and I'm skipping her again because wishing is pain and I don't have much wishes right now so I'll just save for other characters

Just to talk about c, i c6 Yae because i love her as a character.
When it comes to appreciaten i always try to do my max to the characters I love.
Raikou in FGO maxed out, Atago in Azur Lane maxed out and got huge amount of copies of her, Yae Miko c6 with insane artifact.
For me c6 yae is not about damage, it's more about love, love for pixiels that talk and walk

12:53 - I believe by being on-field you are only loosing half of the golden troupe 4p effect, but maybe I misremember how it works.
I think this video is fantastic. While it was rambling, it does so with Yae. I think it's strange how CCs promote strong characters and praise versatility, but advise not to pull Yae for anything other than want. Yae has excellent versatility and never stops her electro bombardment.

the longer ive had her the more ive started to like her over raiden she's alot comfier for electro dps im getting to the point with my account where its alot more useful to get constellations and weapons than new characters and while raiden has bigger increases from constellations and weapon im considering yae more as she really only wants her weapon
I'm tempted but worried they'll do something similar enough with Clorinde that I might want her instead. Logically this is foolish, since we know what Yae does and that she is good and we have no idea what Clorinde will do. But I can't shake the feeling.
I suspect she will be an on fielder with some kind of gimmick. On fielders are just easier to balance. And on a story level being on field makes sense. Honestly we have electro units that cover most of what makes electro useful already, so Im curious what they will do though. I hope she is not just Keqing 2.0
@@Solunerra Yeah, the duelist being a good on-fielder would make sense, but the problem with that line of thinking is that it also makes good sense for Dehya to be good in a fight ;)
Personally, given the current trend in characters, though, I'm expecting her to be tied to overload and/or supercharged. Furina boosted the value of healers. Chev boosted Overload's value. Navia found a use for crystalize. And, while I won't go into leaks, I expect that trend will continue.
@@Solunerra Yeah I feel like it's a coinflip between "similar to Fischl/Yae" or "similar to Keqing." Short of tying her specifically to an underrepresented reaction like Electro-Charged (which would reduce my interest), it kind of has to be one of those lanes more or less.

I have yae but i haven't used her in ages. I mostly main neuvillette and Alhaitham. so I guess i'm the opposite kind of player to you xD big numbers go Brrrrr
Its less the numbers and more that I just get bored of playing the same on fielders. All Neuvi teams revolve around Neuvis playstyle and dealing with Neuvis kit, and benefits/downsides therein. Which I eventually get bored of.
Not saying I will never use him obviously, he just doesnt have the “I can just use Yae in this team” aspect, instead its “I need to make a team entirely around Neuvi” if I want to use them.
My ideal for on fielders is that they have something they do that has off field presence, even if its minor. Raiden is useful in many ways just by nature of having a bit of off field electro on her skill, for example. This could also be the case with a character having a passive with a team benefit when they are not off field. E.g. Chevreuse I built as an on field DPS, but when she is off field she is still benefiting the team through her passives.
@@SolunerraI just don't think I like quick swapping. it can feel janky and chaotic. Where putting everything in place for the big numbers feels smooth and satisfactory. the only time the long n fielders feel bad is when we're up against wheenut and the serpant, but I still completed spiral abyss that side with alhaitham because he can be faily dynamic on his skill/ ult combo.
I personally like finding good scenery and flying amongst the mountains.

I'm kinda like you here. Neuvillette is the strongest dps that I have. But I don't use him that often. I just love playing Yae along with Furina. Personally, I don't like on field dps style that much. I prefer spamming skills and switching between characters.
I personally think her split role of on and off field dps is why she feels so underwhelming.
Her feels time for being a turret character is strangely high and when on field your auto attacks just don’t do a whole lot.
She’s stuck in a spot where she carries the true advantages of neither on or off field dps, at least at c0. It also doesn’t help that Furina kinda…happened as a unit and Yae doesn’t have *as much* synergy with her compared to others.
Id like to get yae, as i love her story, design and play style, its just yae isnt a top meta unit, and i pull for meta mostly. When it comes to an off field electro applier, yae just isnt the best. I've also realised that when i pull non meta characters, for some reason the artifact domains just dont drop the s tier artifacts they drop for meta characters. I started playing in 1.5 so was there for yae's first banner, but shes just not priority, which is kinda sad ngl
