    The one accessory I would like on my Tesla is decent customer service. My M3 has had the very noisy front suspension for over two months now and yet mobile service is still three weeks away. Have NEVER had a good customer service experience with Tesla. NEVER. From even before we picked up the car in December of 2019 to now with only 20k miles on it I have never had good service. Five failures now is the worst of any new car I have ever purchased. Might cancel the Cybertruck order.

    • @VanillaTesla

      Sorry to hear that you’ve had a lot of trouble. Where was the vehicle built and which market are you in? Sounds like there’s room for improvement but this definitely isn’t universally the case. In the market that I’m the service cost and turnaround times are often met with more positive feedback than negative. The Cybertruck is an enigma given the many changes and lengthy delays.

    That's not a "HUD"... that term has to do with a display projected onto the windshield, or a small transparent display right in front of the windshield. That's just a Drivers Instrument Cluster... and is one of the most valuable upgrades.

    • @VanillaTesla
      @VanillaTesla  10 місяців тому

      Thanks for taking the time to leave your comment. You’re absolutely correct but the HUD reference is probably worthwhile to make for viewers shopping for these despite being technically incorrect as it’s a common tag for these types of tesla accessories alongside “display” and “instrument cluster” especially with Chinese retailers.

      @@VanillaTesla Thanks! How are they holding up? Some reviews of these say they don't stay on the back door sills well and also can rub on the door in the front, marking them up

    • @VanillaTesla
      @VanillaTesla  Рік тому +1

      You’re welcome! The rubbing at the front seems to be dependent on the build tolerances and I’ve only heard of the issue with some of the Fremont cars so far. None of the MIC cars we have down under have had that issue and I haven’t yet heard of MY23 vehicles in NA with the issue. The back sills need to be lined up well to adhere well. Takes a minute to get them perfectly aligned to the flat part in the area but once they are on they stay on. I’ve seen a few passengers step right on them and they haven’t moved or come off so my personal experience has been pretty good.

    • @VanillaTesla
      @VanillaTesla  Рік тому +1

      Hey mate, I did install it myself and recommend you give it a try. It’s very straightforward as an install honestly. About 90 minutes total You really only need a plastic pry tool and a screwdriver to get it done in ‘22 MY. Your car may have one additional bolt on the center trim so you may need an allen key as well. The longest part of the whole thing honestly is just lining up the screen with the steering wheel and tidying up the cables. Two tips - buy a bit of felt adhesive to tape the cables down so they don’t rattle around and also apply a bit of foam tape under the screen where it meets the trim and tighten the screws to compress that down snug. I didn’t do these two things initially and had to go back in because there was some minor rattling over bumps. Also as we are RHD all of the ports you need are on the driver’s side. A lot of the youtube videos show the ports on the left hand side of the car because they are LHD. Hansshow sent me LHD instructions and I was confused for a full hour.

      @@VanillaTesla thank you for your reply! I was wondering if you know more information about the displays for the rear seats? I see you recomended a simpler smaller rear control multifunction system. I'm tempted to get a larger screen that lets people watch netflix? I suppose these have some drawbacks like do they block the vents too much? Or are they very laggy? I'm not clear on how these things work.. are they basically a cheap lousy independent tablet running android that needs to be signed in using a google account? I definitely don't want that..

    • @VanillaTesla
      @VanillaTesla  11 місяців тому +1

      No worries! There are very many versions nowadays but I have tried a few. They are exactly what you described. Completely independent needing their own google account and data connection. I also found it mildly annoying that since they are all LCD screens their standby screens were very bright and the versions that I’d tried did not have auto screen off and would not respond to third party apps trying to switch the screen off. I haven’t yet found a big screen version that I like enough to recommend. Airflow wasn’t a huge issue with the ones I tried despite having visibly smaller vents. Airflow for most models retained over 80% of the original flow. The 4gb and upward ram models are not laggy but the 2gb models are so avoid them at all costs.

      I explained in the video that you defo won’t need it for your EV but since the low volt is 16v on the newer Teslas you also can’t jump any other cars. For $42 bucks it might help a friend in a pinch or you may find the powerbank or flashlight handy to have as well.

    • @AML2000

      There are kits for that however they also swing themselves open which is a little unnerving as there are no sensors to stop collision. The more practical kits are “soft close” kits that simply latch the door shut if you’ve soft closed the door but it hasn’t latched.

      Primarily for other cars not for your own car. The new Teslas run a 16v low voltage system so you can’t jumpstart other cars as the voltage is too high. Also just handy to have a powerbank and flashlight around. Theoretically you could use it to pop the frunk jumper release on another stranded tesla as well.
