  • Salvatore Fisichella VS Tito Schipa ~ 'O sole mio'
Salvatore Fisichella's singing technique is excellent, but after listening to it, I find it quite boring. A voice without abdominal breath support doesn't move people; it can only satisfy momentary sensory stimulation with its high notes, good resonance, and vibrato, but it lacks emotion. Listening to Tito Schipa, on the other hand, provides a truly enjoyable experience.

Fischella sounds like he's going through a vocal exercise. Schipa is a master of interpretation and sings this great song in a gracious manner.

You put it very well. Fischella produces a certain effect with his voice, a technical sound-he sings for the notes. Schipa, on the other hand, uses the notes to express inner emotions. Listening to Fischella's singing can be quite uninteresting, while Schipa's singing is deeply moving.

Fisichella has an amazing voice, much bigger, higher and louder than Schipa but Schipa, without any vocal effect ( no B at the end) is showing that singing is not only showing his voice (luckily), that singing is not athleticism (luckily again)

@@armenak20962 True. Schipa was a Tenore de Grazia. he had a great career with his story telling interpretations. Even a B- Flat was a rarity

isichella although has a very good high pitched, bright head sound, good resonance. But in my opinion, his middle register is very thin and soft, and that's a big flaw.
Schipa doesn't have a lot of high resonating notes, but I remember he also had high B's and even high C's close to falsetto, but his vocalization was perfect, and I basically only listened to recordings of him before he was 35, with the resonating cavity open from his lower abdomen to the top of his head.
Fisichella's high-pitched power vocal chords are horizontal, and although his chest is often very enlarged (very good), it sounds to me like his abdomen is basically breathless, which is the same as FC, without abdominal breath, you can't express your inner feelings very well.
Schipa's natural expression of inner feelings is apt, and I always think that more than Beniamino Gigli, there is no other person in the world who can sing with emotion like Schipa. He even surpasses Caruso in some vocal qualities.
Just looking for excitement, empathy, pitch, listen to Fisichella, singing is not just to achieve a certain sound effect, singing is to express emotion, this point, the tenors now go further and further, they don't see any Italian bel canto.

@@lisaszxu1961 My father saw Schipa live and said his voice traveled very well in the opera house.
