I’ll agree it was a racing incident. Jones however wrecked Kurt. Lift or not Kurt didn’t put the car in reverse and brake check himself off Jones nose.
Well, at least the race was not 500 miles like it was for many years, even 400 miles can be boring at Dover. It seems that the only exciting races at Dover is one someone makes a big mistake and takes out many of the good cars like when Kyle Petty got his Dover win. For the people that say Byron will be out of the 24, don't forget he brings his own sponsorship dollars so don't expect him to go anywhere unless Hendrick can find another cash cow.
As a Byron fan, it's disheartening to see him doing so poorly this year. He was starting to show his potential at the end of last year. The lack of practice must really be hurting him (Alex Bowman, too). Glad Truex didn't win, but was actually hoping Kyle Busch would get the win. Still, this might be Hamlin's year! Harv's my guy, but there's a certain sentimentality I have towards Hamlin due to him seeking his first championship.
Harvick had race winning speed. He just never had the track position. Let's not forget that he had to restart at the back in stage one(31st) and finished the stage in top 7. He passed cars like Chase, Kyle Busch to get there. He had speed throughout the race. Just wasted a lot of time trying to get past the Penske cars in both stages 2 and 3
The thing about Dover is this: you have 10-12 cars that only have a legit shot at the win on that track the only chaos that happens is involves the lappers causing mayhem or a top car messing up. My Dad & I had gone to Dover's spring race for 20+ years & the norm is 2-3 wrecks but LONG green flag runs. This particular package made passing in the corners much easier by the looks of things and truly widened out the track once more. Any of those cars can do 160 going into the corners...but it's those that can get back to the gas and keep grip that always win at Dover.
Well we got Pinty's back tomorrow and then after that we got Xfinity and the C... wait those two are at the same time as the Indy500. Well at least we got Pinty's back tomorro.
he mentions the chevy cars not coming out as good as they were a few years ago. Can someone explain what results in cars coming out better or worse? They all have to hit a specific horsepower, right? torque too? All the endless regulations for every little thing about these cars.. so what makes them better or worse? This question includes teams that are smaller and have less resources, compared to Hendrick, Gibbs, etc. What are the differences between the cars themselves? What room do teams have to play with?
I'm sorry but I think Chad K. Is not a good match for Byron. So who is Brad D. (Commentator ) going to replace in the booth next year? Any thoughts? You know that's why he was brought into the mix.
Larson earned points for his first four races, and he’ll keep those points until the end of the year. His only penalty was the suspension - no points deduction. Kinda like when they suspended Kenseth for the last two races of 2015 for stuffing Logano. He wasn’t racing, but still kept his points earned through 34 races.
As for the last time there was a good Dover race, I think of the 2008 Dover Fall race Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, and Matt Kenseth battling out in the finish. 2007 Dover Fall race the big one, and 2009 Dover Spring race Jimmie Johnson vs. Tony Stewart in the finish. My favorite is the 2008 Dover Fall race 💯💯💯
I see that Bubba Wallace had another typical mid pack finish, 27th. He had better sign that enhanced ownership deal at RPM. That way he probably can't be fired.
@@thelgiver7339 Nope, not at all. Twice this year, the average at best Bubba Wallace has finished in the top ten, once in the top five if I'm not mistaken. Of course a blind squirrel will find a nut from time to time. I will admit that RPM's equipment is not on par with Gibbs, Penske or possibly Hendrick but it's hardly junk. Aric Amorola had a better average while at RPM.
Steve H it’s junk lmao Almirola sucked at RPM just look at his 2016 season also RPM is worst then they were before because they Chevys are not as good as they were bubba is 21st in points which is normal for RPM u can put Clint Bowyer in the 43 and he would run just like Bubba
