little did we know that this weekend we’d see both Truex’s in both a 19 car for JGR win at Dover
🔥🔥
I felt it coming, today that is, since little bro won. I listen to MTJ on the scanner every race. I can tell you this, he hates this new car! He doesn’t agree with Small most of the time (they remind me of my brother and I as to what is best). Regardless, I knew he wasn’t going to let little bro show him up!
That being said, MTJ can be great if he focuses on being great, and not complaining. This is the car you have now!
Lajoie is low-key pulling off good finishes this year. I see his name in the top 15 almost every week.
Something something super shoe..... something somthing.... wheelman. Coreys gonna get his dub I can feel it
he's definitely outperforming his equipment.
He’s doing awesome
I heard some rumors that the Wood Brothers are trying to get him next season.
@@Arian8923 then he will just become matty D 2.0
My vote is we switch the Dover and Sonoma dates. Sonoma is always green in the spring vs dry and dead in the summer. Doesn’t matter if it’s raining, we have a rain package now. They should at least try it next year.
How about putting Dover back in its traditional date the week after the Coke 600.
@@satoshiserena4843 Sonoma is two weeks after so it wouldn’t make a big difference
@@prairiefarmer5994 How about putting Sonoma as part of the west coast swing? At least it will look more beautiful because the grass will be greener.

Omg 😂
Hahahaha this has me laughing so hard

Yeah me too
Nice to see and hear Rusty Wallace announce. He’s the man
I agree. He's been a great broadcaster on MRN, and I have no idea why he hasn't been hired to work as a commentator on one of NASCAR's television partners
Kinda think he's better as a driver
@@RazorSharp75426 he is best at both, kinda wish he would’ve had the chance to prove that on Sunday!
Yea, he can repeat Clint real well…stick to the Miller Lite!
Who crusty lmao yea sure dude has one championship, but yea sure he’s the man lol 😂
Man, so glad Truex finally won breaking the winless streak! Truex Bros dominate the Monster Mile!😃
Now it’s Ryan Blaney and Brad Keselowski’s turns.
@Big Hand I think Ole Brad is done, that penske magic was simply that.. they don't got the cars over there yet to win.... hopefully they will at some point. I think blaney is just unlucky
@craigsmith8678 Brad and Chris are both running well. Other than Logano, Penske isn't making much noise. Blaney was competitive today though.
@Gary Jackson I mean logano proves penske has the cars, blaney is just messing up and needs to snap out of it
@@Bigkillaward He has had a decent amount of close calls/top tens/fives.
Tired of people excusing and explaining away Chastain's B.S.
"He's not a bad guy, he's had to fight and scratch for every opportunity."
So WHAT? Half the garage is full of drivers who had to fight for their opportunities. Stop trying to make him into some martyr.
Being there in person, you couldn't tell that it was a Monday. It felt like a Sunday crowd from start to finish and the action did not disappoint. But this is a call to NASCAR and SMI that they NEED to move this race back to the end of May or the beginning of June. For us in the area, this is now the one decent chance to see these guys in person and it shouldn't be sent to a Monday running almost every year!
Agreed! The traffic always sucks too but yesterday was so much worse, it took me an hour and a half just to leave the parking lot
@@jeffreyd4813 We waited about a half hour until we decided to fire up and start moving and it was another 25 minutes to get out that was after a secondary gate was finally open. Not the worst amount of time to get out, but right up there.
Josh Berry is amazing! Great job today. The Truex Brothers were also amazing! So happy for them!
No problem with your comment, but in all honesty... NASCAR has pushed for so much parity in the cars... couple that with HMS, shows me that it is not Chase that is so good, or any of them really... it shows it is the car, not the driver.

He's not a bad guy I met him at the casino last year after the Las Vegas race only problem is he's an idiot on the racetrack and is going to kill somebody
I really enjoyed Rusty in the booth. I think he could be a solid addition every week.

Back when the USO offered free tickets to Marines and family, my boys and I went to many a Dover race. I don’t remember getting rained out at all. We usually went to both races, starting fall of 2008, and for about five year. Saw many of JJ’s wins, including his Dover sweep. Saw Kyle Busch hit the wall many many times (feeling a bit of Schadenfreude, there). Still, don’t remember any rainouts. By the way, I was right in front of Logano’s 9x barrel roll down the turn 3 banking.
Just watched this race on Monday from 6AM-9AM. Didn't had any classes yet while I was at college so it gave me time to watch the Dover race. Congrats to both Truex brothers for winning at Dover!
Josh Berry, the unofficial 5th Hendrick driver.
He did really dang good today
@@existinginaspace8347 he's proving himself at different types of track. Dude just needs a full time ride.
Yeah
A lot of staffing at Dover is through volunteer and school groups, so many aren’t available on Mondays. I remember in 2019 they even just let everyone kind of park wherever. Using volunteer groups can be nice, but it’s also a cheap way to handle things. This is one of the risks…
Happy to see my guy MTJ FINALLY get a HUGE dub and shoutout to Larson and Reddick for holding up Chastain in the final stretch before the last caution. Was an amazing event in person
That was awesome. Chastain has got to clean it up
But when Chase Elliott kept Harvick behind him and helped Larson, heard a lot of criticism of Elliott. But ok for Larson and Reddick to do it.
@@Holly2017Rascal no it is not ok. But Elliott and Reddick are not wreaking havoc on the track seemingly every week. Ross is a wrecking ball right now
@@psinclairjr Can’t stand Chastain. Now he is in the history books because of the stunt he pulled in Martinsville. He is fortunate that didn’t cause a major wreck on the last lap. So Nascar put in a rule against it. He has shown he will do anything to anybody. And the sad part is he comes away with decent finish while ruining other drivers day.

This weekend in Va in my area, we picked up almost 3" of rain! Most of April for the most part was pretty dry.
“Time will tell if he actually learns from it.”
No. It won’t. “Time” has already told us that Chastain hasn’t learned anything from his mistakes. If you even wanna call them mistakes.
His apologies are empty. He simply doesn’t give a shit. He knows most drivers these days are soft, and he’s unbothered by their twitter fingers. Until someone punches him in the mouth, he’ll continue to move people at will.
Harvick was running 4th when his tire had an issue and made him drop back. Then he had another tire issue from what I heard. He's run top 5 almost every race. Just gotta put it together to get the victory soon.
exactly. it's frustrating
The entire Ford organization is struggling I don't know if Harvick or stewart haas racing will win this year
This was my first race I attended irl! And yes, the east coast has always been pummelled by rain every April. I've heard people say to move the race to June but I have a tinfoil hat theory that Nascar intentionally puts this race this early to kinda choke it out from the schedule due to delays and rain.
Glad to see pepole still come in droves every Monday though
That would suck... too cool of a track to not have on circuit
I like your tinfoil hat take. I agree. Dover needs to be moved later into the schedule and have a second date in the playoffs in my opinion. The uniqueness of the track is undeniable and having met some fans from New Hampshire in Daytona a few years back I feel like the fan base would support this.
It was my first race also!
Great show, thanks Eric!
Brennan Poole earned that shot at a cup ride, and that's what happens. The melon man doesn't get the benefit of the doubt from this guy anymore. Our #15 brother got dumped that early? Sure hope he gets another shot at that cup ride, he deserves it.
Great episode, Eric. Love your content, man.
Mtj had a rocket ship today. Happy to see him finally get another win
Ross NEEDS to embrace being "heel". Logano doesn't apologize when he gets into someone...just sayin
Chastain was my pick, so still feeling pretty good about that one lol
I think it was fitting for Truex to have to beat both Chastain and Blaney for the win- two other drivers starving for a points victory.
I loved the Emplemon shout-out. I've been watching both of you for years now.
Awesome Truex weekend.
Sad for Poole, my 'out of the groove driver'.
Chastain is exciting, but his aggression will catch up to him eventually.
RFK Is putting it all together the top 10 & top 5 finishes are added up. The wins are coming soon. Now if Bard K and Jack would get rid of Fenway and Steve Newmark Roush would go back to the top of the nascar world.
Nascar will not allow Ford to win anymore this year sorry to
I'm happy for the Truex family! Thanks for the video😎👍
Eric I’m only 2 hours from Dover so I’m not a “local” but it’s my “hometown” NASCAR track, with that being said. Yea. This time usually has rain and can be bipolar with when it rains.
Perfect just got home in time for eric to drop the good good always great content! You DA man!
Chastain could intentionally drive 190 mph through the front of a nursing home and all he would say during his post race interview is opps I'm sorry. He would say that he has to get with the families later this week and let them know that it wasn't intentional and how sorry he really was about it and then drive off hitting a man in a wheel chair while he leaves.
😂😂😂 i just wanna see someone punch his lights out!!😅
@@mikeferguson898 don’t hold your breath .🤣🤣🤣🤣 ! Kinda reminds me of the “Intimidator “ ! Go Ross .
@@darrelljohnson5764 Ross is hack. There was an art to what Dale did and comparing him to the equivalent of a methed out bull in a china shop is proof that people dont know what good racing is anymore. Demo derbys are still a thing so maybe go watch them.
I was at the race and thought it was awesome, though I was crushed when Larson got wrecked early through zero fault of his own and when Byron faded in Stage 3. My mom, however, was super excited to see Truex get the W.
So far as the race date goes, this was my 4th Dover race but first in the spring. Prior to Sunday, I saw an awful lot of fans all over social media complaining that the fall race should have been the one Dover kept "because the weather was so much better." Clearly those folks have selective memories because each of the 3 fall race weekends I attended were affected by weather to an extent, including in 2016 when they had to run the Xfinity race on Sunday morning. The reality is it can rain any time of year, but maybe there would be less of a chance if the race shifted back towards the early June date Dover used to run.
So far as the track staffing, etc. went, we arrived to the track at about 950 and had zero issues. We were parked within 5 minutes and significantly closer than we were yesterday. Dover posted all the key details for today by 6:30 p.m. last night, including clearly communicating that only certain gates would be open. This makes sense. A lot of the track staff probably have regular Monday-Friday jobs and couldn't make it back. We planned accordingly and left time in our schedules. The lines at the gates were long, but they moved quickly. The crowd was VERY STRONG for a Monday make up, which was awesome, and I felt Dover handled it best they could. Folks who didn't leave enough time in their schedules and/or didn't do their homework last night should blame themselves for failing to plan, not SMI.
I've been a busch fan since 2006.. i never have a problem with seeing Martin truex win.. he's kinda one of the original ogs at this point. Glad his brother is coming up and winning now.. just means we will see that last name for some time to come
I was at the race yesterday, and it was fun! The grandstand spot in the middle of Turns 1 and 2 gives you the best view of the entire racetrack, in my opinion. (This is my fifth time attending a Dover race, and I usually get the same spot)
Now as far as the weather....I live in Philadelphia (about a 90-minute drive from Dover) and, yes, it is typically VERY rainy in late April and early May. Someone actually pointed out that this was the 3rd time in the last 5 years that the Dover spring race was postponed to Monday. If you ask me, NASCAR needs to move the Dover date to either middle of May (last race before All-Star weekend) or early June (week after Coke 600). I'd also be down if Texas and Dover swapped dates and Dover gets added back into the Playoff schedule lol. (The weather is usually nice here in late September)
There were also a LOT of Truex fans at the track yesterday. It was nice to see everyone so happy, and it was nice to see Truex NOT get screwed out of a win for once. I also heard some boos for Chastain as he was getting interviewed.
was at the race and it was lit and loved the battles across the track. GO ERIK!! #43Crew.
P.S felt like i was the only Erik fan. I was wearing a focus factor crew shirt 😂
always great Eric,,,cheers ftom Florida, Paul
I told everyone cindric wasn't going to be any good in the cup car's. People don't understand how different the Xfinity car and the cup car's are.
The only problem that might be worse for Ross Chastain is when his teammate Daniel Suarez could stop Ross from winning a race and Suarez steals the win!
13:00 harvick was in the top 6 the entirety of stage 2. he was in 4th on lap 141 (stage 2 was going to end on lap 150) and then he had an issue with one of his tyres which he had to nurse and fell to 15th a lap down before the stage ended. he got to 14th where he stayed the first car a lap down until the final restart where the same tyre issue occurred causing him to fall to 19th.
Calling it now, one driver is gonna put Chastain in to a wall or into the grass. Its coming.
Probably as soon as Darlington or Gateway.
Probably more than one time
Chastain deserves more than 50% of the blame here but nothing to intentionally wreck a guy over.
The line to get through security was atleast 2 football field long at each of the gate and appeared to have only one gate for the entire front stretch and the turns 1/2 shared a gate as well as 3/4. Took about an hour to get out of the casino parking lot which is the closet parking lot to main road half of that time was spent waiting to get out of the parking spot.
I’m old enough to remember that Dale Earnhardt sr was actually a “bad guy” when he was racing. Believe it or not people did not like sr. In my opinion Chastain has a lot of those similarities to an old school Earnhardt.
Yep. People didn’t like Kurt Busch, now look how he’s received. People didn’t like Harvick, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Dale Sr. Now they’re always cheered on and regarded highly.
I bet Logano and Chastain will be booed for a while, but both will eventually be loved and missed when they’re gone.
To quote Terry Labonte, "Have you ever heard him say he means to spin anybody out?" (Bristol night race 1999)
@@Garibuki I would also include Brad Keselowski in the mix.
Chris, if you are old enough to remember Dale, you're old enough to know he had the talent to "know" what he was doing. He was hard-nosed for sure (hence the nicknames), but DELIBERATE. Chastain is an idiot driving above his talent level. He puts himself in situations that he has absolutely no control of anymore and runs into whatever is around him. He basically runs out of talent when he gets to a decision point, and has zero clue how to handle a situation once he gets to where he thinks he wants to be. Stop with these Earnhardt comparisons. It's disrespectful to the LEGEND.
💯💯💯💯
13:57 yes, it rains extremely frequently during April here in Delaware
The part that I don't get is why do the other drivers let Ross get away with it? Because they are afraid of Nascar fining them.
For a Dover race, which has been ungodly boring for the past 4 years, I think this was a great race. There was constantly a battle for the lead between Truex, Byron, and Chastain with them not getting more than 5 car lengths from each other, switching back and forth. There was something legitimately interesting on the track for once, which was the chastain incident, and it definitely wasn’t a completely single file race (flashbacks to 2021💀).
I think the Dover races will only get better from here. I can’t wait to see the crowd of an unaffected by rain race as well. The revival of Dover is happening right in front of us.
Not a boring race if you are a HMS fan!
Yeah MA here, it's wicked rainy this time of year.
Ross did mess up obviously, but Poole did start braking a good amount earlier than most people seemed to be doing, so partially on him as well
Poole let off the gas, you could see the flame out of the exhaust.
@@andyd5492 Commentators even mentioned it too, then just let it pass
Ross cant change, beacuse of videos like this, nascar was getting stale, so many cookie cutter personalitys, ross brought personality back to nascar, and all the media snd stuff he generates proves it.
What pisses me off is Chastain constantly apologizes and goes right back out and does the same damn thing over and over. His apologies don't amount for shit
I live far north of dover but here in the north east as weather systems travel north along the Atlantic we all kind of experience similar weather and it had rained basically non stop the last week and half.

I was in the crowd today sitting at the top of turn one. Great crowd for a Monday race. Front stretch looked packed out. Although getting in to the track took longer due to not having all the gates open. There were lines lined up to get in like 20 laps into the race. The Dover spring race needs to be moved back to its late May/early June date when it's less likely to rain. The weekend after the coke 600 was perfect for Dover and since moving it from the date it's been rained out 3 out of 4 years (not counting 2020). Great race and fun time as always
I was impressed with the Monday crowd.

Hot take:
Ross needs to stop apologizing and just fully embrace being the bad guy. Dale Earnhardt did and he was one of the greatest of all time. Ross is still such a nice and great guy just like Dale was. But on track he needs to full on embrace the bully attitude
Difference is... Dale knew exactly what he was doing, while Ross is clueless and simply running people over and running outta talent. Ross even said that he did not mean to do that. Lack of driving skill. He is fast but outta control.
Amen!
I’d rather have a Ross Chastain, than another vanilla, boring dead head, like Gordon-Johnson-Hamlin-Elliott; and I could go on & on. Just my opinion, folks. Ross makes nascar fun to watch again

I was at the last Truex Monday Dover win and his Monday win resume is pretty impressive throughout his career.
Summer in the Mid Atlantic region and especially around the Chesapeake Bay Area is really tricky for rain. With the proximity to the bay and the ocean, weather can move in quickly and it’s not uncommon for rain to pop up frequently in the afternoon (even Monday there were a few drops at one point in the race.) The hot mid summer time brings a risk of heat lightning in the late afternoon/evening. Earlier in the spring is too cold and late in the summer is playoff season. Unless this becomes a playoff race this time of year is probably the best for this race, even if there is always some chance of rain.
I remember a certain guy that use to make enemies and bump people out of the way for the win. A certain number three named Dale Earnhart and fans hated him but a lot of fans loved him. Ross reminds me of Dale.
When did Dale Earnhardt punt a small budget or single car team into the wall just 80 laps into a 400 lap race because he simply wasn’t good, smart, or patient enough to realize that there was PLENTY of time to go? When did Dale get so scared by the view of a faster car in his rearview that he just lost his nerve and plowed through another team that wasn’t even in the way?
@@gabe_foran um Bristol 1999 I’m pretty sure it was terry labonte. And I get what you saying t I’m just making a comparison
@@HistoryBuff1999 the “rattle his cage” incident? That’s the worst possible example you could give b/c it proves my point. That was on the last lap for the win against a Hendrick car. Not a Rick Ware car in the first quarter of a race. Dale wrecked a lot of people - and was hated for it - but at least he knew how to control his car until it mattered. Ross is out there wrecking anyone and everyone because he’s so overly aggressive that he loses actual car control. Dale was the complete and total opposite.
I think Larson wins if not from Chastain 😢😢. I think NASCAR needs to step in and at least give him a warning and if it happens again suspend his ass. And I'm a Larson fan and was a Chastain fan until this year.
If you look closely Ross has this apparently deadly maneuver perfected where he bump swipes across their back bumper. It looks like a shove but something about it gets the car in front loose every time.
Someone needs to make a "it's all Chastain's fault!!" T-shirt..

The rest of the field: "A.I. VENGEANCE ACTIVATED!"
(Yes, that was a reference to NASCAR: Dirt To Daytona)
Yeah on Monday they didn’t have a lot of staff and only had like one gate open to get into the track. Lucky I got in line early
NASCAR should give Ross Chastain a lifetime ban from NASCAR Races.
I would switch Kansas and Dover, so Dover is in mid of May. Maybe this helps.
I only got to see the last 100 laps
i was at the race today and i'll document my experience in a (somewhat) short paragraph:
when my my mom, friend (who was at her first race) and i arrived at the track, i really didn't think that the line to get into parking was very long, and props to smi because parking was free today. i bought absolutely overpriced diecasts and we started to head into the track. we had to go in from gate 2 (which is at the exit of turn 4) and the line was so long; i mean stretched from the queue line at the gate all the way to turns 1&2. very very bad on smi for that. but i thought the racing was really good today; especially towards the end. i can't wait to see the OOTG car on tv at darlington in a few weeks!
Ross ads spice and content to every race. I like him but I'm old school where rubbing was racing. I'd prefer to have more drivers hating each other.
Great video spot on about Ross crashtain
I totally agree with you on Ross. I want track house to do good so bad.
I was at the race, the staffing was terrible. The parking staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, and the gate lines were long and took forever to get through. Plus they had all of the concessions near me closed...
I set my DVR to record the cup race today and it recorded the Xfinity race.
Well it's official Martin Truex Jr gets the win plus no cars are going to the R &D center. I don't know how deep he would get in the playoffs but he now has the win to break the winless streak. If I had to guess, maybe round of 12 or 8 but not final 4 yet. It depends on how he does from here.
I live in Delaware and was at the race today it was windy i was at the top of turn 1/2 and yes this is our rainy season need to move it back to june like it used to be lines were long yo get in to the track and the stands but i got lucky and was abke to slide in pretty quick benn goin there for 20 yrs so i know shortcuts around the grandstands but over all one of the better races for dover....also eric good work also love watching you...also if you tead your comments im the one making fun of the drivers...like kyle busch takes lavender bubble baths 😅😅😅😅😅 or ryan Newman wears dasey dukes and cowboy boots but anyway have a good one

Bring the Dover race to the summer. The area does not get as much rain. This area is notorious for random weather throughout the fall winter and spring. Summer is at least a bit drier
