    Thank you Andrew for being you. I just won £30 with this video, as my poor uneducated friend bet me I could not name two watches on this list. I took that bet quicker than a Rolex dealer laughing at me as I walk into a store hoping to buy a watch. The words twelve and bel canto left my lips so fast I was hardly aware it happened. To show this victory off I have ordered a Casio Royale so I can remind him of his defeat each time I wear it. ❤️

      I agree, I was really hoping to see his favorite in the $300 range as a lot of us operate in that space. @@garyquartley1084 It has an inky deep blue sunburst that doesn’t look like the brighter and more silvery sunburst I see on many other dials. The “burst” itself is still a pure blue color, and depending on lighting the dial can look glassy or silky with a cloudy glow to it instead of the grainier texture and less saturated burst color a lot of sunburst dials have. It’s understated but also one of the reasons I like it since I thought a lot of blue sunburst dials look too cold or flashy to me.

    Well, I guess I am not the only one to have an anesthesiologist rocking a Rolex. I was getting ready to be put under for an implant and looked over and quipped "A Milgauss the sleeper Rolex." To my amazement, this prompted an almost ten-minute discussion about how he came to have that specific watch and what if any watches I had. This really put my mind at ease as I went lights out for the next five hours. One day, I'd love to add one to my collection.

Moser basically took my dream watch (their Streamliner) and then read my mind on how they could make it even better (make it a bit smaller/thinner, include a micro-rotor, and give it a beautiful fumé Grand Feu enamel dial).

    Everyone drops their personal favs, and you know what? So will I:
    I suggest the "Citizen Eco-Drive" watches. There's a couple that are within the $200-300 range which offer not only a decent time accuracy of +/- 15 seconds per MONTH....but also the Eco-Drive uses sunlight and fluorescent light indoors to constantly charge it. On a full charge, the Citizen Eco-Drive watches can stay active for 6 months. Plus, the lithium internal battery and/or capacitor can last anywhere between 10-20 years before needing to be changed. Really great, and at that price point, I don't mind using it for every day use.

    Some absolutely amazing watches in this video (showing my age there.) I watched it in the hope I might get an answer to the question.- I love the Blancpain 50 Fathoms but in South Africa that’s the price of half my house so what do I get for $300 to 500 that looks close enough to the original that the burglars are seriously miffed when thei fence tells them they were conned?

    Ok. Interesting selection. Some are not bad. Some are good. Some not so good. Some great. Some just crap. But that's what you love so respect to you.

    Chronographs- as much as I like the Speedmaster, it’s just too big for this member of the IBWC. So the Daytona it is, though I don’t know if I could justify the price.

    I’m watching and I don’t even collect watches. Half the time I don’t wear one. I did buy a second hand inox once. Every now and then I remember to wear it. Everyone I know who own fancy watches have boxed them up and are wearing them Apple Watches so they can message their mums and dads by talking into their phone like a a space man. Anyway, love the vids. Cheers bubba.

    Accuracy of the 4R36 can be spot on with a quick trip to a watch maker who for a couple of tenners will regulate it for you to a very respectable 3-5 seconds per day.
    I have seen those Nomos watches in person. They are simply not worth their price tag

      I nearly bought a CW seven or so years ago. They had COSC certified divers, but I found a local deal on the Seiko Turtle mentioned in this video!

    • @EnglishTMTB
      @EnglishTMTB 7 місяців тому +1

      Have to be honest, they really don't do it for me... And it's mostly in the name.
      Slightly irrational perhaps, but if the brand is going to be someone's name, I want that name to have relevance beyond the founders thinking it was marketable... And let's face it, when you're buying automatic over quartz and buying design and finishing you like, it's going to be more than just a strictly utilitarian decision.
      Yes, they're great watches for the prices they charge and there's absolutely no way I could ever knock someone for choosing one... I just wouldn't for myself.

    Great review but at $500 the Seiko turtle must have a sapphire crystal but that goes for every watch at $500 but Seiko might be the most guilty at least with any brand you would want.
