I always enjoy the reviews and discussions you do from the PGA show. This is another good one! You are beating the Golf Channel to death with your productions this year! I am getting fit for the new Rogue and currently have a Graphite Design in my Epic and might be changing and also looking at Accra the year!
Glad to see this interview. I love Graphite Design shafts. They’re so popular on tour (correct me if I’m wrong but I think Hideki used the DI 9TX on that absolutely incredible 3 wood shot to win a couple weeks ago) but don’t get a ton of focus on English-speaking golf UA-cam channels. I just get along really well with then. I have the AD DI 7X in my 4 wood and AD HD 6X in my driver right now. Trying to bring driver launch and spin down just a touch while keeping that feel, so I have a UB 6X on the way. The IZ is fantastic too - I like it just as much as the DI and wouldn’t be surprised if one day I end up with an IZ 8X in my Apex UW. Only one that doesn’t work for me is the XC - that soft handle and stiff mid just doesn’t suit my timing, for whatever reason, but hey, that’s why they make a whole lineup. One thing I really like is their graphics. Not a reason to buy a shaft … but if one works for you, it’s only a positive if it looks cool, too! The Graphite Design dual-color look and the Diamana flowerbands - two of the most legendary looks.
weird, he recommends a TX for 110+ swing speed. I play the AD HD in S flex and my swing speed actually jumped and stayed at 115mph-117mph and still feel like I can swing harder without losing control. Haven't tried the TX but i'll keep it in mind for future fittings. Thanks for the video :)
@@McGolf True. I'm not as handsy around release as most people would do. but I do feel i get a better kick and load with a Stiff shaft compared to most X shaft i've tested. Again, haven't tried the TX but surely will keep that in mind. Cheers fellas
@@Qaloso Did you test the HD in X? To compare a GD Stiff shaft to “other companies” X flex is apples to oranges. Especially not knowing the material and spec profiles of said X flex shafts. More important that at 110mph you’re striking the ball out of the center versus hitting that SS #. 110mph isn’t exactly game changing speed.
9:36 Clearly you are not exposing yourself to the plethora of Japanese hand made shafts that make specific fairway wood shafts. Albeit they are usually in the $500+ range, but there are literally dozens of Japanese manufacturers that make them.
At $500 for a FW shaft I may not want to expose myself. Sorry had to do it. I am sure there are other companies doing Fws shaft however to the normal market there is not. A $500 FW shaft is akin to the $1000 driver shaft, yes they are made however not many if not more than 2

both shaft are great, the new Rogue ST is a real deal to. you wont be disappointed.
I have used ADDI for several years, trying a I z shaft now!
I've always wanted to try one of those Graphite Design shafts. Maybe someday...

I’m looking to upgrade my 3 wood shaft, I use regular,, what would you recommend?
I absolutely love my IZ-6 in my driver
Great video thanks
No problem 👍
which new graphite design shaft did you use for the 290 drive?

TX in the HD is still smooth feeling
I'd imagine it depends on how you are getting through to the ball. The TX at that speed should be pretty good without being boardy
