Ian.. your knowledge and fitting expertise amazes me. I don't know of any other fitter anywhere near your league of professionalism and knowledge. Always impressed with your reviews.
I knew it, guys, I knew it. Wanted to test, record and define the impact of tipping for years... Even asked you back in 2017/18. Understanding it changes the designed flex/bend performance of the shaft, but I propose it can be used for fine tuning to each specific golfer (1/2" to 2"). Pending a definition matrix.... Thanks
I have a DI shaft my buddy gave me in my old taylormade tour burner thats in the backup bag. When I put it in I went from very high launching draw, to a much more workable low cut just from the more stiffness at the tip. It was my first experience into the difference a shaft can make, and it helped me better understand I deliver the club at impact and how the shaft affects that.
I’ve played the Di and loved the feel but once I was fit into the IZ my driver accuracy has become tremendous ... I’ll have rounds where I don’t miss the fairway..... the shaft feels like BUTTER... The color scheme on this latest one dos not disappoint ... as always great video
I could definitely see a three set of 1D, 3W and 5W sims with these shafts for Matt. In fact, a fitting of those three clubs would make for a great video if you include some cameras from the actual tipping as well. Man, Matt with a strong 3W with an extra half inch tip makes a lot of sense. The bullet 3W.
Would be good to see Matty test the different Graphite Design shafts you’ve got to see a comparison. Think you talked about something similar in the live stream👍🏻
Agree .... this would be great to see. It is interesting to see that the DI appears to be making a resurgence on the tour even though it is quite an old model.
I game the HD-5 in my TSI3 10*. Best combo ever for me. I tried everything, Ventus Blue/Red couldn’t touch it. I game the TP-6 in my 3-wood and the DI-7 in my 5-wood. I built an XC-4, tipped 1” and its amazing too. Like a super light super stable Miyazaki from back in the day.
First time playing a GRAPHITE DESIGN shaft,Playing Sim with the IZ, and it’s produced the best numbers I’ve ever had with a driver. Playing driver at 7.5 as it does launch high with the sim. I’ve tested a pile of shafts and for me this paired with the Sim and how good it is, will be staying in the bag for a long time. INTO THE ZONE !!! 😂
I just hit this shaft with the Titlest TSi3 and I said the same thing...Geez!! It was fun to hit and I am going to start with that combo when I get my new diver.
Could you build up a ventus red for Matty. One straight in and one tipped 2 inches. That sounds like a very interesting test for people like myself that prefer the stiffer butt section.
Tour AD-DI IZ 6X is what I use and love it. And for the fairway wood, YS7+ TX. Considered a "bargain blueboard" it has been my favorite club for years. Graphite Design is tops!
Big fan of Graphite Design...... Am still using their Pershing shaft in my driver, gives me great results and a huge confidence booster. Great vids guys, keep up the excellent work 👍👍 ⛳🏌️🏆🍾
I'm a 15 handicap I play the rogue driver with stiff flex. My driver is fairly consistent flight, distance is 265-275 with out roll out. Would i benefit from a different shift? My problem areas is my short game not so much my driver.
Ian, maybe you can't share all your trade secrets, but it would be really cool to see an educational series maybe starting with an overview of different shaft types, flex, weight, balance points, tapers, reverse tapers (is that even a thing?) and what those differences mean and how they are used to achieve a desired purpose during a fit. Another could be Lie, loft, and how those tie into different swing types could be another one, and maybe things we aren't even aware of. You guys could easily stretch these out into a series with one video each for wedge shafts, iron shaft, hybrid shafts, woods, drivers and then pair them with the other lessons you guys are doing with Gareth.
Could you do reviews of the Graphite Design line? The AD DI is probably the most recognizable with tour presence and yet I can't find any reviews on it on UA-cam to get an idea of how it performs against other shafts in the family or others.
GD are always fantastic......played BB for years and played XC this year and XC is hard to beat......but anytime they release something new its always worth trying bc you never know...
Great vid. Would be good to see the next stage after such a fitting that being an actual custom club build, tipped, swing weighted etc etc for the actual configuration chosen.
Ian could you do a possible video on shaft make up on how a shaft performs regarding stiffness profile along the shafts lengths and the pro's and con's eg stiff butt then soft tip would be absolutely amazing.
Please review the XC! For those who don't know about graphite design, the cluster diagram and points on stability / consistency are everything you need to know
Love the video, any chance you’ll do a side by side comparison between some of the AD line? I was fit into a Fuji Pro 2.0 but have very much fallen out of love with it. I have a quick tempo and can’t seem to hit the launch window I’m looking for. Adjusting the driver it’s either too low or too high and seems like there is no middle ground. I had it narrowed down to the AD-IZ 6x and the AD-DI6X but now I saw this and makes me wonder if this would be a good fit for me since it is a more even profile. Thank you for any replies!
Great video. Interesting you had to adjust the tipping recommendation to Matt’s swing. You made a comment on the difference of tipping from the loft sleeves compared to the standard full bore insertions, but what about the agnostic sleeves TXG uses compared to to the vendor specific loft sleeves? Any difference for tipping ? Maybe something to explore?
So a general question.... Ian is it beneficial to FLO your shafts before building a club, or is it just hype. I’m a believer that anything to assist consistency is worth the effort.
Any clue the playing characteristics on this vs ventus black 6x? I have the sim with ventus black 6x and sometimes struggle with feel with the stiff handles. Im a pretty smooth 118 mph swinger
Hmmm...My next driver combination? I am seriously considering a trip to Toronto with my wife for our birthdays. The trip is her gift and a club fitting would be mine! Which airport is better to fly into? Toronto or Pearson?
That shaft looks awesome ! Would love to see Matt re fit into a SIM/max. Maybe a touch lower launch than this one then 💣 💣I’m loving my SIM Max. Killed my Mavrik sub zero in every way. Awesome content guys !
Can you get a shaft re tipped with a different companies hosel connector? I got fit into a gd bb 7x with my last driver and moved on to a new fit but now this video makes me want to get that shaft re tipped and through it in my new driver head.
Hey guys, do you have an opinion on the Aerotech TiFiber driver shaft? Maybe do a review?!? I got fitted for the P770’s and went with Aerotechs Steel Fiber and I love them. Wanted to see if their driver shaft was comparable to their iron shaft and possibly put the steel fiber in my wedges as well. Have any thoughts?
I was told by a Graphite Design rep to not tip in a driver because you actually make its softer if it’s tip stiff as you are removing the stiff portion of the shaft. Do you disagree?
@@clubchampionmedia is there away to make it more tip stiff without loosing lenght. I'm 6'5 and would like to not have to bend over anymore then I already do.
Ian.. your knowledge and fitting expertise amazes me. I don't know of any other fitter anywhere near your league of professionalism and knowledge. Always impressed with your reviews.
White shaft + dark background = watching the flex at the top of the swing as Matty begins his downswing 🤤🤤
Best video on true shaft dynamics and what a tipping a shaft truly does, ANYONE has ever done!!!!
Living and working in the UAE and being a very poor sleeper, the TXG videos really improve my nights/mornings. Happy nerd here 😊
Great video. Love to see GD HD vs Ventus Velocore.
This!!!
I absolutely love the feel of their shafts. I realized how big a difference a shaft makes when I tried one in a 3 wood. It was night and day.
Thanks
Just finished giving a presentation. Opened up youtube and get this lovely present 🎁

Love to see him test the IZ!!
Currently playing the IZ myself T-rav29 👍🏻
Let’s see it!!!
I just tested this shaft today with an OG Sim and it's no joke in that head! I should have tested this 2yrs ago!
Thanks for doing this one, Gents. Absolutely love Graphite Design shafts!!
Great way to start the day with a new TXG video :)
Stop fighting it Matty, the SIM is the driver for you! RIP freaky deaky😇
Not high, not low, just so! Makes me glow, hitting 6 great shots in a row..... poems by Matt
😆👍😆
Gets TXG notifications at 00:50. Well, looks like I’m not sleeping just yet
love listening to your mind working with regards to fitting.
Mr. Fraser TIdbits galore in this one ladies and gents! 👍👍👍
I love the information passed on, in a easy to understand fashion.
Toronto area golfers are so fortunate

Not much better to get back from class and have a new video to watch !
So informative. Thanks so much. Especially around tipping at the end of the video. Cheers.
I just hit this shaft with the Titlest TSi3 and I said the same thing...Geez!! It was fun to hit and I am going to start with that combo when I get my new diver.
When is Matt going to give in and put the SIM in the bag?? Everytime he hits it, he’s lights out! Give in Marty!
"tipping" Matty towards the SIM again.. Excellent results!
Could you build up a ventus red for Matty. One straight in and one tipped 2 inches. That sounds like a very interesting test for people like myself that prefer the stiffer butt section.
Nice strike pattern Matty! Looks like a great product in the right hands and with a great fitter like Ian. Quality piece of work chaps! 👍
Never tried a GD shaft before , but like all the other products reviewed on here I’m now interested and intrigued. Thanks
I agree you guys are just spectacular bucket list to come get a set of clubs fitted for me by you guys.
Great vids guys, keep up the excellent work 👍👍 ⛳🏌️🏆🍾
I absolutely love my di shaft, and the looks of the shafts are spot on, thinking of upgrading to stiffer one though...
what tipping recommendation would you give for someone who swings around 105mph and would be looking at a 6s?
Have a GD TP6X tipped 1” and love it! Seems like this one is one to try!
The tour ad line always has some of the best looking shafts in the game. Have a vr in my driver
What an amazing looking setup!
I'm a 15 handicap I play the rogue driver with stiff flex. My driver is fairly consistent flight, distance is 265-275 with out roll out. Would i benefit from a different shift? My problem areas is my short game not so much my driver.
Glad I sub’ed to your channel. You guys provide great detailed info. 👍🏽 keep up the great vids coming

Great explanation guys!
My Tour AD HD 6S arrives tomorrow 💙
Love GD, I put them in all my woods
GD TP5 Stiff on my m1 440 and i love it. GD is TOP!
The ball flight was fantastic. Matty, you might need to toss that in the bag.
Please review the XC!
For those who don't know about graphite design, the cluster diagram and points on stability / consistency are everything you need to know
They look awesome . Do they come in fairway wood as well
The bracket robbed Matt of the right driver this year... that man needs a SIM in the bag!
This set up with the White and blue MCC would be something else
Love the video, any chance you’ll do a side by side comparison between some of the AD line?

Great video! How does this shaft compare to the Ventus Blue?
Whats the difference between Tour Ad-TP and HD? They quite have similar profile as I looked in the spec chart. THKS
Wow I NEED to try this shaft
On the way to bc for a round of golf watching txg, life is pretty good.
I love the look of this shaft. Is there any big difference between the ad hd 5s and the 6s? Will one be better than the other based on swing speed?
It was a short ride with the Freaky Deeky Mavriky... 😂😂
Ian, does your fitting adapter(s) change the way the shafts are tipped or how they perform?
If you where building the same driver for him with and OEM TM adaptor, would you still tip the shaft 1 inch?
Matty needs to put that SIM in the bag!

bought one for my Cobra Pars and Stripes...looks like they belonged together has well.
I tried a DI a few years back and couldn't swing it like my Atmos. But this looks far more stable.
You answered my question in the middle of typing. How much does the shaft go into the sleeve?
hello i'm going in for my first driver fitting what should i be asking and looking for
Any clue the playing characteristics on this vs ventus black 6x? I have the sim with ventus black 6x and sometimes struggle with feel with the stiff handles. Im a pretty smooth 118 mph swinger
I'm intrigued by the ad vr, have you guys tested it or if not would you consider doing so? Any of the subscribers gaming it or tested it?
Hmmm...My next driver combination? I am seriously considering a trip to Toronto with my wife for our birthdays. The trip is her gift and a club fitting would be mine! Which airport is better to fly into? Toronto or Pearson?
How does one know how much to tip these newer shafts. Is it based off of club head speed or load??
That shaft looks awesome ! Would love to see Matt re fit into a SIM/max. Maybe a touch lower launch than this one then 💣 💣I’m loving my SIM Max. Killed my Mavrik sub zero in every way. Awesome content guys !
Been on KK XT 70TX for a while. Would these be in the same range?
You should probably play that driver Matty. Wish I was that consistent with a wedge. Let alone a driver. Great build Ian.
Would you say this shaft is similar in characteristics to the Tour AD VR? Would it be more stout or less stout?
If you tip a very stiff tip shaft where the tip is stiffer than the mid section would it actually soften the tip profile?
Can you guys test the Autoflex shaft from Korea, I saw an article on golfwrx and you guys seem to be partners.
Can you get a shaft re tipped with a different companies hosel connector? I got fit into a gd bb 7x with my last driver and moved on to a new fit but now this video makes me want to get that shaft re tipped and through it in my new driver head.
Yes Dylan that's a pretty straight forward job for a club builder
Where is the best place to get a fitting in Salt Lake City Utah?
Hey guys, do you have an opinion on the Aerotech TiFiber driver shaft? Maybe do a review?!? I got fitted for the P770’s and went with Aerotechs Steel Fiber and I love them. Wanted to see if their driver shaft was comparable to their iron shaft and possibly put the steel fiber in my wedges as well. Have any thoughts?
Maybe not! Thanks...
I need this shaft for my SIM2
It's a great shaft. I gained distance and accuracy with it.
Good morning TXG
Ditch the callaway! Get that sim in the bag!!!
How about doing a head to head with this combo to Matt's Callaway Mavrik gamer?
@9:53 the sad things is club fittings are only an hour and cost 100 bucks. Can never really get 100% dialed in but it’s better than nothing
This is my driver shaft.
Graphite design or Ventus for Matty boy??
What is cost of the new HD shaft?
This is a good feeling shaft. Funny how the color makes it look longer than it is....
I was told by a Graphite Design rep to not tip in a driver because you actually make its softer if it’s tip stiff as you are removing the stiff portion of the shaft. Do you disagree?
yes definitely disagree
Is it just me or Matt sounds like Jordan Speith? BTW, great content as usual!!
So probably a stupid question but when y'all say tip a staff are you referring to cutting length off the tip.
yes correct 👍
@@clubchampionmedia is there away to make it more tip stiff without loosing lenght. I'm 6'5 and would like to not have to bend over anymore then I already do.
I experience shafts being much heavier in the S flex category. 60 is often 67 or 68.
Which one of these will work for 100mph driver speed swing player
the 6-S would be a good starting point
Who would the 5s be suited for?
depends, not necessarily only a speed thing - some players react better to less or more weight
