Have caught hundreds and hundreds of fish with the zviber. It catches basically everything, I use it year round not just for ice fishing.

I tried the larger sizes and liked those a lot better. They're solid lures.

Pretty sure this size were designed more for ice fishing in mind and is why it wobbles, that's more the action you want vertical jigging it down an ice hole. Why it has a single hook is so you can put a small plastic tail on it also for when jigging.these are killer baits for ice fishing. Plus all the glow and uv colors they come in are mainly geared for low light water conditions you find more in ice fishing. .. This year they came out with an even smaller one called the micro z-vibers that is only .6" long. The new micro comes with a single hook but then also a treble hook as well you can put on. I have used these for open water during the spring and fall also but don't seem to produce nearly the numbers but still have caught some. The next size up of these is better for open water and has 2 treble hooks. Plus 3 differt tie spots for different techniques of fishing them. (vertically, ripping, or casting) The best results I've had in open water is more when you rip it than just cast and reel ... Look into rapala slab raps... Another bait that's more geared for ice fishing but still produces pretty good in open water.

Yeah I kind of figured they were for ice fishing afterwards. Thanks for the info.

I think people do better vertical jigging it than swimming it. afterall it's an ice fishing jig.

Thank you. I saw your videos with them which is actually what made me want to try them. Maybe I'll get another one and try it out off of some docks.

@@TheFishingNomad I use it to cast test primarily on BFS videos to show a reel capability rather than for the lure action. Try floating it! I caught more crappies floating it than swimming it. Its hella fun

What do you mean by “floating it?”

@@grandwonder5858 use a float. Bobber, strike indicator, etc.

Okay. You have success using a float in conjunction with a lipless crankbait? Never seen anybody does that before.

Rapala makes a lipless in 1/16oz.
It's called Ultra Light Rippin' Rap

You used 4lb test line, you should re-tie after every large fish you hooked into, especially after you have muscled a fish out of the thick grass. A knot do get weak after every fish you fought.

Excellent point. I need to be better at that.
