Walked up there as a kid with the school on a school trip. I can confirm this is an absolutely stunning place and quite hard on your legs at least when you're 14 years old.
I would love to go on that train to the top but at £39 each for a 4mile ride it's taking the piss. Even if they did just the ride up for a tenner I would do it. But they are money grabbing hard here.
Blimey! I was thinking of getting the train up whilst my friends walk this summer and meeting them at the summit but at that price I think I’ll stay at home!
@@pygmygiant how much must they make per trip. well into the thousands. they know most people cant manage the walk up so they punish them. If that train was in europe it would be a 3rd of the cost or less.
I went up in the late 1950's. It was foggy, so I don't remember those wonderful views, must try and get up there a second time one of these days. Thanks for sharing.
absolutely stunning footage, thank you for sharing it. I noticed some of the trains on the way down did not appear to have windows you could pull down, in order to film out the windows, which is disappointing. One question I do have is did you use a gimbal to film this or just the camera itself? Many Thanks
Oh my goodness! My legs were turning to jelly just looking at that view from the summit. Never been up there before. Thank you for the video. Some beautiful views.
I’ve walked up snowdon a few times, often seen the train and thought I’d take the train up one day. I checked the online prices and thought it was ridiculously expensive and then they have the cheek to charge for parking! Great video though!
I've hiked snowdon so many times on many different paths but never caught the train. I will get the train when my legs can no longer carry me the summit
Lovely view. I've climbed Snowdon a few times. Never taken the railway up I don't remember it going all the way to the summit. You've inspired me to take my young girls up the railway this summer
The train stopped a few times to let trains coming in the other direction pass as it is mostly single track. However, passengers can only get out at either end.
The Snowdon Mountain Railway website says "At Snowdon Mountain Railway, we are committed to the provision of equal access for all. All of our contemporary carriages have ramped access for a wheelchair. It is advisable to pre-book on +44(0)1286 870 223 to guarantee a wheelchair space. Our staff will be happy to give any assistance required."
Tickets can be purchased on the day subject to availability. However, during school holidays tickets can sell out weeks in advance, and they also get very busy in spells of fine weather. I would suggest looking on their website to see what is available before setting out. snowdonrailway.co.uk/
3 hours from London Euston to Bangor, the nearest station to Llanberis. Buy you ticket a month or two in advance, its quite reasonable. As for the ticket up Snowdon, I'm not sure :)
The money they charge has to go towards maintaining the engines and probably paying the staff if it’s not mostly volunteers like these steam railways usually are! Get the early bird train, that’s half price!
Thank you for posting this, I’ve always been curious what this trip is like. Such a beautiful view!

I went there a few years ago.. absolutely stunning place and reaching the summit is so exciting.
Stunning, but...boooooo....you can walk up the thing!

Thank you for your comment. You can walk up and down free of charge. A lot of people do as can be seen in my video.
Have a walk up to the summit. Doesn't cost a thing, except your food and drink.

Thank you for your kind comment. The camera was a DJI Osmo Pocket. This has an integrated gimbal.

Looking really cool, I actually Walked up the entire Mountain Once. Was an awesome experience
The train ride up is exciting, to be sure. But hiking up to the summit is so very satisfying.
how long would it take. walking slowly just asking
3-4 hours I think. @@genesis1765
Under 4 hours with high wind against you, highly recommend.
Culdee fell railway...
It was such a good walk in my youth, maybe one day I'll enjoy this.

A chance to watch people, mostly.
Love Wales wish I could move there
Wow, how long do you get to spend up there before you have to get back on the train ?
At the top, you get 30 minutes to enjoy refreshments at the station cafe and admire the spectacular panoramic views to the valleys below.
@@DavideoVisits just found out they don't let dogs on the train. Do you know if the end point can be reached by car ?

Thank you for your comment. I hope you enjoy your visit next summer.
Thx for posting. Very good video.
super journey
Wow,I was also there on May 20 2019 on the early train. It was so unbelievably clear that day
Yes, we were very lucky with the weather that week.
How many stops are along the way? Just curious

Is it disable friendly place? TIA.

They should help preserve the top of Snowdon by shutting the railway. This would stop thousands of people from going up and ruining the summit.
Lazy man's journey
Fucking expensive rip off to use the train
People need to walk up too many old biddies with macs on
A train to the top of the mountain where is the fun in that
too expensive and it fills the summit with "day trippers' .

I Hate Mountains!!!
So why are u watching
All those people - how awful!
Why would you say that? Out of curiosity because these comments on a video about a mountain train are so funny
