I think the pack is just a little overpriced, maybe $6.99 would be better. That said, I'd also like for them to add the ability to unlock it with monkey money like in BTD5. I'd also like them to do that for double cash mode, since it was also available for monkey money in certain versions of BTD5, but since it's been a thing for so long I won't hold my breath. Edit: My reasoning is partially biased around the fact that I can only play BTD6 using the Netflix version, which doesn't feature any sort of microtransactions. As a result, I cannot actually use double cash or, at least currently, fast track. There are quite a few things the Netflix and Apple Arcade versions miss out on solely due to them not having in-app purchases, and that feels mildly unfair.
I didn't know there was a way to play BTD6 through Netflix honestly, but what you're saying makes a lot of sense for sure. And I definitely agree, my reasoning behind this video is simular to yours in that I really do think it should be available to purchase for Monkey Money and then also available for real money if someone wants to choose that option. And I'm saying this as a creator who stands to benefit if people use my code lol
I would honestly like it to be mm too, but the devs don't really make that much money since the game is just buy it and play it without any in app purchases
@@Phenomix Yeah, it's a part of Netflix Games. They have a version of BTD6, a (garbage) version of Sonic Mania, and a whole bunch of others. If you have a Netflix account, you can play the games for free when you would otherwise need to pay - though they don't allow in-app purchases, much like the games on Apple Arcade, and as such there's no way for Netflix BTD6 players to input a creator or promo code even if they wanted to.
I can definitely understand them wanting to charge for it, especially for somethings thats not required. BTD6 is a one-time purchase, and all the updates are completely free, unlike most other live service games. I've always viewed double-cash as a way to support the devs while also getting something in return, and I see this as the same thing. But I can 100% understand if people are bummed about it being locked behind a paywall.
I definitely understand that perspective as well! I do think BTD6 still offers a ton of value for its price, especially when on sale. It's also cool that people can use a creator code without paying extra, so in that case you're supporting NK and a BTD6 channel you enjoy as well
I don’t mind at all that fast track costs money. But there should be an option to buy fast track by itself for like $6. I still bought it cause I support NK but $9 is a bit high.
tbh, i only bought cuz i didn‘t wanna wait the early rounds. also i wanna support ninja kiwi. i feel like they are the few companies that are actually nice and listens
I definitely agree, they are my favorite game company personally. I like games from other companies but not the actual company behind them (especially with Nintendo)
@@Phenomix there are bonuses options to make the Bloons bigger or smaller and the towers also have these options, all 4 of these extras are unlocked from hidden achievements
That makes BTD6 kinda pay to win if you are grinding Black Borders. Sure, you can't use it in CHIMPS, but it still saves a lot of time grinding on like Impoppable.
hey there! i have a good challenge idea: getting the maxed btd5 sun temple as fast as possible. i got it after round 49 on easy with the dart monkey special building and on 3 times around for the space edit: i did this on the flash version, which is free, but doesn't have the monke lab, so i couldn't get the first farm untill round 3. i also tried on express shipping but on the flash version you can only place on the boxes, so you can probably shave off 3 to 4 rounds.
This is a great idea and it's something I've wanted to do before when I saw BTD6 creators making the same type of video but for Paragons, and you just gave me another good reason to finally try it out!
I just edited my save to get fast track, regardless of the value of the game and the value I got out of it, I should not be required to pay a dollar fee for something previously stablished as free in the franchise, that's like if deflation was locked behind a pay wall.
That's uh, pretty interesting lol I can't lie. As a content creator I wouldn't wanna do that or set that kinda example but at least you'll still be playing the game instead of this update making you quit.
I did the calcs on the value of Fast Track alone, given the weird conversion from my country to the US currency, it might not be the most accurate result but near enough. If you subdue from the shop one 10 Power pack and half the 10 Tier 3 Instas pack, the value of Fast Track alone is near the value of 6 bucks, making it 2/3 the value of the entire pack. Again, it might not be accurate due to currency conversion, if anybody in the US can take a crack at it I invite you to. All 'n all, Fast Track here differing from BTD5 depends, being able to skip even 75 rounds if there's any 300-round challenge one can fancy. The closest to BTD5 consistency is playing Impoppable games, or any non-CHIMPS challenge that has 100 rounds set and allows FT.
That makes sense to me, I've also learned you can buy farmers and crates for Monkey Money so that to me immediately takes their value down to basically nothing. Even the tier 3 instas can be earned. The pack really is charging you for fast track and throwing in a fee extras on top of that
I liked it when you bought it with monkey money instead of real money. It makes F2P players have a chance to get the same features as P2W Players instead of not being able to get these features because they cant
BTD6 isnt a P2W game you can 100% BTD6 without spending irl money but with some features you can expirement and try to speedrun the game catch my drift
I would say it isn’t worth it for me bc the only time i’d see myself using it is in half cash mode because fuck half cash mode. The less time spent there the better (hot take: half cash is harder than chimps)
iv always argued that double cash in btd6 should have been 50-60k monkey money. instead of being, what? double the price of the game?* for something thats really nothing more than a quality of life feature. same can now be said for fast track. instead of 50k, make it 10-15k. yeah thats still a long grind, but thats still way less then getting all of the heroes now a days. * (i genuinely dont know how much btd6 costs, its been so long)
NO WAY, my comment got deleted 😭 It was a whole 5 paragraphs on my opinion on this ): I don't feel like rewriting it, at least for now, but in short, I think it is fair for them to monetize it, as they always keep doing sales and bringing insane value as a dev team, although it is rather expensive still, maybe it could get tunend down (and also the adds are totally useless), and also a major annoyance for us teenagers and kids that don't have income or digital currencies, and is hard to get to buy online stuff. And also turns out my winning attempt didn't get recorded and it saved my afk killing of Bee Swarm Simulator stump snail, so I have 14 minutes of me killing a snail. And also, I've alreadt got my script and recordings in order, it's just redo the run, voice it and edit (:
I noticed your comment was missing and then I checked the "held for review" section and it wasn't there either. Not sure why youtube has gotta be so annoying sometimes but I'm excited to see the results when your video is ready! That's a shame about the recording though, I'd be frustrated for sure
Oh yeah i just wasn't good enough at making content or doodle jump itself to engage many people with that content. It took me time to come back and learn what works.
In my opinion it is absolutely not worth 9 dollars. And the other stuff, like the cash drops and farmers honestly has absolutely no value and can be got with like minimal effort. So def not worth 9 dollars
I don't think it's unreasonable for Ninja Kiwi to release the occasional quality of life feature that costs real money. BTD6 is over 6 years old and gets regular updates, and keeping a game fresh and regularly releasing new content costs money. I'm probably going to get it mostly to support NK and whichever creator I use a code for in hopes that it gets reinvested and the updates for the game don't slow down. I personally feel like I've gotten an absurd amount of entertainment for the initial investment of $15. I don't know if what you get is actually worth $9 rather than like $5 or $7, but I personally don't mind paying what they're asking. There have been plenty of way more expensive games that I've spent way less time enjoying.
I understand that perspective as well! Like I was saying in this video I meant no negativity towards Ninja Kiwi, but I also wanted to share my thoughts and hopefully, if someone else is really annoyed by it, they'll check out BTD5 instead of quitting the series for good
You make some great points why BTD5 and monkey city are both still worth playing today, yet somehow miss the most important one Bloonchipper. I don’t think I need to elaborate on why that’s the best reason
Well dang I can't buy fast track right now because I'm saving up what money I do have so I can buy games on steam when I get a PC

probably something like beating impoppable in XX minutes, kinda like for big monkeys you have to use pat (big moke)
I bought the steam version and grinded for double cash, IT IS WORTH IT. (Also dart specialtist is kinda cool)
nice video. how about you make an btd5 all tier upgrades tier list? (including special towers like agents and that wizard)
