I feel like the title is misleading because Maida vale and St. John’s wood isn’t the average looking London area…. The average person cannot afford to live here, you won’t find these shops in more diverse areas…

As a former Londoner I would say stay as long as it works for you. I now live in a quiet village by the sea in Kent, it suits but oh my god do I sometimes miss being young and having fiun in town. I loved my london life lived down south but spent a lot of time in Hampstead/ Belsize park and camden. The memories I have of those days I will cherish for a lifetime. Oh and honey in terms of bloging you are doing brillant just so natural.

Absolutely agree, I moved to Islington when I was 21 in the early 80's and had the best time of my life, brought up two children there, enjoyed all the concerts and clubs..so many evenings spent at the Black Cap in Camden and The Electric Ballroom..as we got older , theatre and museum trips got added in, I was a goth and clothes shopping at Camden Lock and Carnaby street were favourite pastimes, again in later years, it was more Columbia Road Market an Alley Pally Garden Centre as we moved across to Hackney to renovate a house. At 41, life changed and those changes culminated in me moving down to The Isle of Wight , where I remain in a tiny, one church, one inn, and two shops village,. The village consists of one longish road with a very few offshoots, one end of The road is farmland and the other, the sea. I'm in my 60's now and am pretty happy here but how I miss those old London days....sadly, the years pass quickly when you aren't paying attention and what you thought would be for ever is long gone....So as Jason says, Hannah, stay for as long as it suits, and I might add, stay a little longer than that even..enjoy your youth, enjoy London and when /you stereo leave, make sure you have a whole gamut load of memories to take with you! x 😊👍🇬🇧

I’m from the U.S. and just took my teenagers to London for 2 weeks in January. We are so jealous of how affordable and delicious all of your food is! We live in California and a basic turkey sandwich from a decent deli with very basic ingredients is about 14 British Pounds and if there are truffles or smoked salmon, more like 20 pounds. My kids had a blast ordering all the food and pastries they wanted knowing it was back to homemade food when we got home! I already miss London. Such a fun place to be.

I miss the gloomy weather in the UK. I am from Sri Lanka and everyday is almost the same. Sun shines beautifully, but it's too hot to walk outside. (Generally 30C and quite humid). You may not understand it, but having seasons, and having good and bad weather make you appreciate the good days more.

As American tourists, we often ate from local shops and delis - more choices, healthier and less expensive than restaurants. That shop looks amazing! Pret was a standard stop for us too - cheap and located everywhere. The little shops with fruit and veg are fantastic too. I much prefer that kind of shop to our giant supermarkets here. Love your videos, Hannah. Please keep going!

Some Americans give the rest of us a bad name. We are a military family who lived in Pinner from 2009-2012. Before moving there, we heard that it *rains most of the time in London.* We found that not to be the case, however, and rather enjoyed our three years living there. It was fairly similar to our weather cycle in North Carolina - summers are wonderful and winter can be grey. We didn't focus on the weather anyway. We were too busy enjoying all the sights, museums, food, etc.

I love seeing the big city sights, but I'm always glad for a neighborhood stroll with cute dog spotting and tasty treat views. Will you take us back to Regent's Park on a sunny day? So sorry about the church!❤

I loved your video❤ It’s lovely to see all the shops, sights and scenery and activities around different areas. There are some amazing places to visit! The cupcakes caught my eye🧁 You could easily spend an afternoon in one street. I think you would miss London if you moved. Everything is on your doorstep and there’s so much entertainment. Your video was excellent, as always 😊

Just watched this posting. Amazed at the prices of everything. I would guess that it is on average around 40% more expensive than it is up here in Liverpool and some things are at least double! Really good to see round the shops though. Terrific choice of food.

This was the perfect vlog. It's my dream to live in London and it's the local shops and markets that I'm interested in. I'd love to see your local weekend farmers market. Love from Australia.

Really enjoyed the video of a different area. How about a series of videos outside of central London? The most extreme example would be Amersham in zone 9 (the old part is very nice). The trouble with moving out of London is the ‘nice’ places, with things going on and good transport, aren’t sometimes THAT much cheaper, especially as train fairs are crazy expensive compared to TfL. St Albans couple be an option, but it’s not as happening as zone 2!

Thanks Hannah, definitely love your walking vlogs around the local areas and your shopping vlogs. I’m coming over to London from Australia for 2 weeks in March/April and these get me excited and give me some good inspiration! As I have been to to the UK before and done the touristy stuff keen to do a bit more as the locals do (also eat and drink a lot 😊).

Hannah, I was thrilled to see St Mark's included in the video. I am not sure if you noticed at 4:21 when you commented on stickers on a pole. That pole is for an EarthCam. It live streams to the internet facing the Abbey Road zebra crossing. I use the feed as my live windows wallpaper. It is amazing to watch people trying to get the perfect iconic picture on the crossing. I have always loved these vlogs the best - especially when you end up at home and conclude the vlog.
Many thanks again for the St Marks....you are the best!

Another fun video! It's always a bright spot on Friday to see your videos pop up! I'm so embarrassed as an American (now living in Ireland) that American tourists are in London complaining about how "grey everything is"! How rude! First of all, just like Ireland, you don't go to the UK for sun. If you get it, it's a bonus but it is certainly not the draw. Who needs sun when you have the kind of historical sites London has? I apologize for the American tourists.

I loved having a tour of your Manor, Hannah! It was really fun, though if I lived there I'd be 25 stone! Hummingbird make the best Red Velvet cake, either as a tray of cupcakes or a birthday cake. Yum! Thanks for being there in January to cheer us up. I had a woman from NY tell me "London is so dark and foggy" like she expected the Hound of the Baskervilles to come flying by any moment! 😂

Another wonderful vlog and just a few months ago I was at the sites you walked and those sites are better to see for you are walking them ! I purchased from Gail's bakery and it was quite good and next trip we will go back once again as we always visit Abbey Road and the surrounding area. I was lucky enough the get a piece of the wall as the guy who was ripping down the Revolver wall gave me a part of it and now on display on my wall. He was the very person who put up the "If these walls could sing" as you can see on your vlog. Thanks for the look back Hannah !

Personally I like gray day. I really enjoy your walking around vlogs. One thing that does give me pause about London, those tiny streets you guys drive on 😳. I hope you guys don't alow Americans to drive there, all the cars crossing over into oncoming traffic... Yeah we'd tear everything up 😢😂. Cheers Miss Hannah 🥂

a nice wander around to see things. Englewood CO isn't as blessed as your local shops, we do have some cute 'town centers' that popped up when the shopping malls got redeveloped into instant 'downtown' areas. Olde Towne LIttleton is a lot like your locals, shops and bakeries and cafes, fun to walk around, when the weather permits.
